This is a beautiful Anna Ice Skating Doll which has been reproduced by Disney to recreate the very end of the film where they are all ice skating (the cynical part of me replaces the word recreate with "capitalize on" as the ice skating part of the film is actually very short so it seems like a bit of a money maker to me). There is a matching Elsa doll too which I shall no doubt have to go away and purchase asap to make up the set for when my niece stays at my house as she is (like every other girl her age) a massive Frozen fan and I don't think play will be the same without both of them. As another reviewer has said the movement on this doll is limited as a doll and so if you were going tobuy just one Anna doll rather than this as an extra I would think about one of the others for ease of play as this doll has literally been made to do the ice skating action and therefore her arms and legs are not poseable as with normal dolls. The Anna doll does actually move/skate when you push her along which actually looks really good (especially if done slower rather than faster) but this may be a bit difficult for littler ones and so there is an ice piece which attaches to her boot and this definitely makes her easier to push. One of her feet has a wheel underneath the boot and it is this wheel that makes her move when pushed along and when the ice piece is attached to her boot it has a cut out part for the wheel to still stick through.Anna's detailing is gorgeous with sparkly glitter on her bodice, sleeve edge detailing and glitter hemming on her skirt along with other well thought out parts such as the clasp on her cloak. Her main outfit i.e. the bodice, boots, tights and sleeve are all coloured plastic but she does have a removable skirt (elasticated) and cape (velcro attachment). Her hair is done in braids and the ends of the hair on the braids have been sort of 'set' together to keep them in place but I'm sure they will soon be unmade and re-done by my niece when she brings a doll hairbrush around (which there isn't one included with Anna). The tiara has a little see-through elastic band to keep in on her head and I think without this it would soon fall off and probably end up lost so I shall be keeping the band on her tiara.I personally love the film Frozen too and I am not ashamed as an adult to admit it but I do think Disney is over capitalizing it a little bit. However after having seen the doll (and played with it a bit purely for review purposes of course :P!) I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it as it is actually quite gorgeous. My only niggle with the doll and reason I have marked it down a star is that it would have been nice for the doll to be able to be poseable too so that she could be played with as a normal doll as well as an ice skating doll as her play is rather limited to just the ice skating bit. This would make a wonderful gift for any Frozen fan and is sure to be a Christmas hit along with the Ice Skating Elsa Doll too.Oh when unpacking the Anna doll there are two plastic tags in her head (yeah I know it just sounds wrong to do this to a dolls head doesn't it?!) attaching her to a plastic part in the box, these are just to be physically pulled out and not cut as otherwise you will have little bits of plastic ends sticking out her head which you will then have to pull out with tweezers like I had to!

This ice skating doll is designed upon the character of Anna, from the film Frozen. The film has made for probably the most popular Disney merchandising of all time, with young children now badgering their poor parents to buy all things 'Frozen'.Enter the Ice Skating Anna Doll. This is the doll of Anna at the end of the film, when she is merrily skating with her sister Elsa. She is clothed with the outfit that Anna wears on an almost daily basis because, evidently, princesses are short of clothes! Anyway, the blue skirt, and pink cape, can be removed from the doll, but all the rest of her attire is fixed. Her skating boots cannot be removed, so she is permanently expected to skate. This confused my six year old; how can you recreate the movie if she is constantly skating? Thankfully, my daughter has the original version of the Anna doll, who has removable boots and clothes. The original, however, does not have skates. When skating Anna is placed upon a smooth surface, such as a laminate floor, she 'skates' along on one leg. Her arms wave, and her upper body moves to recreate a skating motion. There is the option of a little stand to fit over the skate, which has a wheel on it. This makes it simple for even a toddler to be able to play with the doll.If your child really wants to have this doll, you should be warned that it has a picture on the box depicting Anna skating hand-in-hand with her sister...so be prepared for your child deciding that skating Anna is incomplete without the accompanying skating Elsa.My daughter has enjoyed playing with the Ice Skating Anna, but there is not as much for her to do with it. The doll isn't able to sit down, or to be used inside her massive Frozen Castle, due to the fact that she is stuck in a permanent position. The original version can do all this, and her clothes are of much better quality too.Overall, the Ice Skating Anna doll is bound to make the eyes of your little princess light up in magical expectation. I would, however, be more likely to recommend the original versions of Anna and Elsa as a better purchase. They may not have the skates, but the play value is so much higher.

Whether a young girl has seen the relevant Disney movie or not, they always seem obsessed with the accompanying princess paraphernalia. My daughter is no different. She is also not different in the fact that now she has seen Frozen, it is one of her favourite films and she tries to sing along as soon as she hears the songs.I mention all this because, at the age of three, she's not overly bothered about pushing Elsa around to recreate the ice skating. She is able to do it but she is just as happy doing her own thing with the doll, including trying to give her a bath in the doll house (despite Elsa being four times larger than the bath). You do really need a flat surface for the doll if you're doing the ice skating movement. When the doll is pushed along her body bends down and her arms and other leg move to recreate the skating scene at the end of the movie. This is the first doll of this sort my daughter has so while you can remove the skirt and snowflake netting shawl, I don't know if you can get other clothes to put on instead (is it a standard doll size?) I don't imagine Disney missed the opportunity to make changes of clothes for parents to buy! The bodice is basically glitter glued to the body so extra clothes would go over this.I am knocking one star off the rating because at nearly £30, it is hugely overpriced. I would hesitate at £20 but then again, it's Disney so it's not like an over-inflated price comes as a surprise. It's a really nice doll and closely resembles the character in the film. My daughter loves it and would probably give it a million out of five if she understood quantities or rating things!

Frozen has been a massive hit everywhere, not only have I sat through the movie countless times, listened to the sound track again and again but we also went to a sing a long event in Leeds recently (Did I mention my 10 year old daughter likes it too?)It really has been a great family hit so having the chance to get this doll for my daughter met with a lot of excitement. The dress and styling is just like you see in the film albeit quite light and flimsy. The dolls limbs particularly her arms and neck are really thin and quite delicate. My daughter was really keen to get it out of the box as soon as it arrived, as a 10 year old she was really fascinated and awe at the graceful skating movement as she pushed it backwards and forwards. She has gone back and played with it a few times but she is quite happy to have it as a centre piece of her window sill like an ornament. Also very excited about a skating Elsa doll was my neighbours 5 year old girl, she was also very intrigued by the skating motion but once bored of that she expected a lot more from the doll. She wasn't happy that it couldn't be moved around or manipulated like a normal doll, just looking at it like an ornament didn't do it for her she wanted to be much more hands on, that said she is still keen to come round day after day and watch Elsa skating. For the elegant uniqueness it was a hit for both children but its lack of mobility seemed to be a downside for younger children so on that basis I think a four star rating is fair.

This has everything little girls love. It looks like a Princess with Elsas tiara and sparkly dress and the doll also has long blond hair for brushing and plaiting. Its utterly charming. In addtional - it is true to the look of 'Elsa' in the hit film 'Frozen' ..a favourite with all the little ones in our family. So is a winner. The doll itself has a head that moves backwards as welll as sideways, is has a moulded boudice forming part of the body, and a gorgeous aquamarine silky dress and sparkly cape. She comes complete with skates and Elsa is operated by slotting into a snowflake shaped stand and being pushed across a smooth surface.Elsa cant stand alone but your little girl wont give a jot about this as girls will just do their own thing with this doll...and spend lots of time hair brushing those beautiful long blond locks!I have two negatives though..one is the price....thirty pounds! Wow!! Thats a lot, but may just be because we're in the run up to Christmas. Tthe other gripe is that the doll is soooo skinny!! The arms are like straws. I know its just a doll but young children are impressionable and forming ideas on self image and how a woman should look so I think they could put at least some meat on the bones. On the positive side this dool doesnt have an oversized bust like Barbie! Its a lovely doll, and will delight fans of Frozen. Its expensice but for the joy it will give it's probably worth it.

Do you wanna build a snowman?!?If I hear that song one more time I may scream. Since my daughter was given this doll I have heard nothing but constant renditions of the snowman song together with the obligatory knocking (which always makes me think someone is at the door no matter how many times I have been deceived).I have to say I was somewhat surprised. Although a quite attractive doll and fairly good quality for a change, I really thought it's appeal would not last (or maybe that is I 'hoped'!) as role playing with it would be fairly limited. However, a couple of weeks on and my daughter is still pushing her along the floor, singing that darn song and asking to watch the movie again and again.I thought its appeal would be limited because it is not really the kind of doll you can dress up and such like a Designafriend or similar but how wrong could a parent be?It is a pretty doll, it feels fairly sturdy and runs better on tiled or wooden floors, which probably goes without saying, but even when she is not skating, Anna has proved to be a playmate my 5 year old can chat with. And yes, she has already asked for the Elsa doll for Christmas so that Anna won't be lonely.Nice toy for a little girl. Hours of fun.

This is a cute looking doll about the size of a standard Barbie. She is 7 and mad on anything Elsa from Frozen so she went mad when she saw the box with the doll inside. If my daughter was reviewing this, she'd give it 5 stars because she really loves it so that makes it a great gift for a young fan.For me, it is a bit underwhelming. You have to push this doll on one foot for it to make a skating type action as it sort of bobs up and down a bit. No batteries which is good but it doesn't really do anything special. I think the foot looks daft which she has to skate on and you can't do a lot else with it since only her skirt comes off if you want to dress her up.My little girl sees it differently. All she cares about is that she has a gorgeous looking Elsa doll and the fact it doesn't do much has been no hamper at all to her playing with it. She loves this thing. Kids who need toys to entertain them might get bored with this quite quickly but I think it is a good buy if a child is good with imaginative play.

Like all girls of her age, my 6 years old niece is Else obsessed, so when it came to finding something that she would really love this ice skating figure ticked all of the right boxes.Unlike some other reviewers I disagree that this is overpriced, Disney merchandise comes with a price tag, and this is priced in line with most dolls of the same size (and is far cheaper than trying to buy an official Disney Elsa dress up set!) She is the same size as a Buzz Lightyear, or Buddy doll, which come with a similar price tag, and is also the best loved character in a hugely successful Disney film, so you are paying high prices for a reason - every little girl wants one!The doll itself is fantastic, dressed in a perfect replica of the on screen character's dress. Yes, the ice skating theme is a bit of a gimmick, but come winter when the snow is on the ground and the lakes and rivers are frozen, Elsa on ice skates will be right at home.Any little girl receiving this as a gift will be blown away!

There is no denying that any fan of Frozen will love this Elsa doll. It is a well made and good looking representation of the Disney character. However, as nice as the doll is, it is quite limited in use. The doll has to be used on a flat surface (not carpet) in order to skate properly, and that is all she does unfortunately. Of course, the amount of play a child will get from this will be down to their imagination, and coupled with other dolls will I'm sure provide many hours of imaginative play, but I can't help but think they could have included a few more features for the price, for example a few built in sayings, or piece of music/sound effects perhaps?I suspect this is the Disney way - why offer everything in one package, when they can get parents to fork out several times over to get the rest! Hey ho! This isn't a major let down by any means, its just a parent's gripe - at the end of the day your little Frozen fan will love it and that is all that matters.

I am not sure that Frozen obsessed four year old girls are the most critical audience for Frozen toys.... Suffice to say this doll received a warm, positive reception. The Elsa skating doll now top of the Christmas list.Slightly more critically:I guess it should be obvious but a wheel underneath the foot powers the skating mechanics. It skates well on hard surface like wood or laminate flooring, not possible on long carpet. This is a high quality toy but more expensive than the average doll. The detail in the face and hair are above average when comparing to Barbie or other Disney dolls. The Cape was slightly open at the seam when taken from the box, so could be made of better material, that said the rest of the toy is of good quality. The skating movement is great and the mechanics work well. This means it looks good but the legs are restricted from other movements with no bend at the knee or ankle. All quibbles aside, this is already a much loved toy.

Anna is a stunning little lady from the Disney film Frozen. Her special skill is her ability to skate – attach the pink “snowflake” to her left leg, put her foot on the table and push her left leg and she will skate. I will admit that after the initial joy at this trick she became another dolly for the family play area. Her bodice cannot be removed but her cape and skirt can. She will, however, remain in the outfit which she came in as she cannot fit into skinny Barbie clothes. The pink tiara is attached with a piece of clear elastic, and when she arrived the tiara was positioned round the side of her head. The tiara wouldn’t stay on and was eventually discarded into the dolly dress up box.Without the tiara she is still beautiful (I think more so)so it was no loss really. The doll is excellent but its skating ability had less play than I thought it would.

Not me but one of my granddaughters. A huge fan of the film "Frozen" she has really taken to this Elsa doll .Elsa is beautiful to look at. Dressed in Aquamarine (nice change from Barbie pink I think) and in her attractive skating outfit Elsa can with help glide and skate around, fuelling imaginative play for a long time.As you gently push Elsa along she elegantly moves her arms, slightly bows and moves her legs in a way that does a good impression of skating. It is easy to begin to imagine her dancing, moved her backwards than forwards, spin her around.Elsa can stand still in position if you add the snowflake to hold her in place. The snowflake can also be used like a platform to push her around with. This doll is on the expensive side but is also very adorable, and will definitely please any "Frozen" fans.

My daughters love Frozen so this toy is a no-brainer really. The doll is a good size being about 30cm tall. The doll looks like Anna from the film as you'd expect. Her main feature is the ice skating movement which occurs when you push the doll forward. Whilst you are doing this she rocks back and fourth, arms going out and in and her back leg kicks along, as if she were skating on ice.Unfortunately this means that she hasn't the features of a normal doll in that you can't play with her in other situations as the skates will always be on her feet. But the arms are fully-articulated whilst the knees also bend. The cloak, skirt and tiara are all removable too.And there is a little accessory that can be attached to the lead skating foot to help steady Anna if little hands are pushing her.

The doll is very attractive, and a big hit with the 4 year old daughter of a family friend. The clothes are really pretty, and interchangeable with other Elsa dolls, because that's what little girls do. The first thing they do is undress them then dress them over and over again in other garments, and why grandmothers and crafties the world over are kept busy making doll's clothes. We were all very impressed with the poses she strikes as you push her along, and the littlest one had all the grown ups practising our ice skating poses, for fun. As you roll her forward her leg bends backwards as she raises her arms. We couldn't make her sit, and do normal doll stuff, but otherwise a lovely doll.

I’m not sure how to rate this ‘Disney Frozen Ice Skating Doll’. As an adult I regard it as pretty tame and rather uninspiring, but my grandchildren (hooked on the film ‘Frozen’) see it as fantastic, cool and wicked - and they want Elsa in addition to Anna. From my point of view it seems considerable imagination is required to extract any ‘play’ value. The doll has only a restricted range of movement - it cannot even sit. Dressing up is limited - only the cape and skirt are removeable. It is unstable - a special attachment is needed to push her along. However my grandchildren would award 5-stars - though I am inclined to award 3 at best (average) - so I’m settling for 4-stars.
