I am a mobile DJ and love this sub even though it's only 600w RMS it sounds good paired with the thump 15s or the SRM 650's.....built with an all wood enclosure it is heavy around 100 pounds....I have used mine over a year on countless gigs..and have done a direct side by side with SRM 1801s spend the extra money on the thump...........the only thing I recommend is taking the amp and back of enclosure off and putting some weather stripping in-between the parts as mackie did not do a very good job with this. That is my only complaint however after you do this it seals the box and let's all bass out the ports and really improves the sound qualityProsCost $700Sound quality not just for the price

I'm in a rock band, and prior to buying this sub, we were using passive subs with external power. I've only got this one sub for now, but it is solid and does the job for sure. I keep saying it's solid because I (stupidly) had it sitting on my old subs as I put it in the trailer and it fell a good two feet or so to the ground as I was driving, but it still worked like a champ. My singer loved the ease of having a built-in crossover because he has a smaller board and it hooked right up to it and split the signal evenly. Good stuff.

I purchased this to replace an Alto that I have outgrown. My daughter is a 12 year old performer and growing strong. She now has many events on outside stages. Singing all genres and needing to project outside with large crowds, I needed to upgrade from my current sub. This sub is accompanied by 2 JBL PRX715s and 2 Thump 12s and the sound is about ideal. The Thump 18 could be a bit " punchier", but it is plenty smooth and strong. For the money, this has been a solid performer.

So far, has been everything I figured these would be. The true test will be next week when these go out with my band to a local club! I have owned several of the 15" powered versions, but excited to hear these things thump. Only issue I have with these are no crossover frequency control, but I knew that before I bought them. I decided to beef up the bottom end control with an external stereo crossover. I will revise my review if anything changes. Very happy with these guys!

The SOUND IS SO SOOTHING...NOT LIKE LOUD AND HURTING JBLS....THE SOUND OF MACKIE IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WOULD NEED FOR INDOORS WITH MAX 150-200PEOPLE. 2SUBS N 2TOPS(15") AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO. CHECK FOR SPEAKER SET UP FOR PROPER SOUND DISTRIBUTION.Only Drawback: CANT PLAY AT +90%, THE SPIDER WILL TEAR OFF

Just what I needed! Yeah yeah it ain’t 1200w more like 600rms but it works flawless none the less, however there was a crack in the cabinet when I received mine, I’m 100% positive it’s shipping related, but doesn’t affect the performance! Best bang for buck so far!

awesome sub, replaced jbl and samson both were also 18" sub woofers. This mackie crushes them with sound quality and delivers a punch you can feel. Should've bought this one first, will be adding another one soon. highly recommend.

Unit thumps (no pun intended) but it is BIG....take that into consideration....and heavy with a solid wood cabinet. Definitely invest in a hand truck or second person to assist with moving around.

Mackie makes a great product. Speaker is LOUD and hits hard. Been DJing for 22 years and I LOVE it. You will need a dolly to move it around yourself unless you're very strong.

Good bang for your money. Get two for a full sound. The single higher end can’t conpete with two. You’ll spend the same money and be happier.

These subs were definitely well worth it. Great sound easy to balance and amazing amount of power. Very easy to set up.

These subs thump really hard. I an going to order 4 more to complete my setup. They arrived earlier than i expected

Crazy loud sub, recently had a party and it could be heard from four blocks away with the thump 15s. Great speaker

I really like the cabinet/speaker design, it brings out the deep lows that improves the overall audio qualities.

This sub woofer adds the bass punch to the music. I recommend the Mackie series. They are high quality speakers.
