This item has been purchased for the local WI branch, to meet the need for an easy-to-use, portable PA system for use by visiting speakers, for larger meetings, and so on.It comes with two handheld VHF radio microphones, on frequencies 174.1 and MHz and 175MHz (see below). The mics are plastic bodied, with a metal mesh covered foam windshield. They have a two position switch, OFF-MUTE-ON, and despite being low cost items they work well and are easy to use. They are very directional and need to be 'aimed' at the presenter's mouth; the upside of this is that they are not prone to feedback howl even when the presenter is in front of the PA.Radio mics are usually used with a separate receiver that is plugged into the mixer/amplifier.The QR12PA has the receiver built in, with controls on the back of the unit. The receiver has its own power switch and separate volume controls for each mic in use. (the main unit volume control does not govern the volume from the radio mic channels) . The built in receiver handles two mics, on 174.1/175.0 MHz, so any additional VHF mics you plan to use with this unit need to be on one of these frequencies. I have also bought a pair of QTX 'neckband' VHF mics (order one of each frequency if you want them, items 178.851 and 178.852) and they work fine. There are 2 separate 1/4" jack inputs for a lead microphone, or a guitar for example. There are also 3.5mm and phono inputs for other sources (such as a phone or MP3 player for music) and the built in MP3 player has a USB and a SC card slot. There is also a pair of phono output sockets for the whole mix. There is an echo function that will operate on the radio mic inputs, and presumably on the lead mic inputs if used. There is also a VCV switch, which will partially mute any music being played when speaking into a mic. This does NOT operate on the radio mic source. The manual, which covers the QR12PA and the QR15PA, refers to an FM tuner - the QR12PA does not appear to have one.The unit contains its own battery, which was at least partly charged on arrival, and it worked right out of the box before being plugged in. There is a detachable 'kettle' lead for the mains. There is no obvious way to change the battery, and no reference in the instructions which counsel the user not to open the unit. I believe it is a lead-acid battery that could probably be replaced by a competent person if necessary, and I'm pretty sure that one reviewer mentioned having done that. For what it's worth, my experience of larger lead-acid batteries in boats, caravans etc. is that they last a long time if they are not repeatedly run flat, or left flat, so whilst the battery is claimed to give up to 8 hours operation, I would suggest using it for no more than 3 or 4 without recharging if you want it to last well. This is a fairly heavy item (the spec says it's14Kg,) if you need to lift it on to a stand or even in and out of a car - fit people should have no problem, but it could be awkward for a frailer/weaker person. Just moving it around is helped by the extending handle and wheels. There is a moulded 35mm socket on the base. I'd recommend getting it off the floor, even if it is just put on a side table - it sounds much better.Regarding the sound, it is not hifi, but it is capable of decent volume and with the aid of the tone controls sounds perfectly acceptable and loud enough for a small hall, though not of course for a disco as you could probably still hear yourself speak....Reliability I can't yet speak for, as I have just set up and tested the items, but so far, so good and I am happy with the choice.

I bought this system for providing music and PA at an upcoming retirement party mainly to save money on the DJ. I went for the QR15PA as the speaker was bigger and the increase in price was manageable. The sound is very good, crisp treble and strong base output with plenty of power. I've not yet cranked it up to the Max. The wireless mikes work well though there is a slight maims him when turned on. Alternative wired mikes would be a good alternative. The USB flash drive works fine though scrolling through the Liston your stick proved a little tedious. Best to create playlists and let them run. Best way to play music is through a tablet/laptop/mp3 player. This is more selectable. The system also works well as an instrument amp. I tried both guitar and base guitar with satisfactory output. The battery is reported to last up to eight hours though I have not been able to test this yet. I believe that the power output is greater when plugged into the mains. My only initial dissapointment when I first opened the box was not to be able to attach additional speakers to the system. I would liked to have spread the sound across the venue. If this were easily possible I would have given it five stars easily. However with the line out I am able to connect to another amp and speakers and now all is well. In summery this system is excellent value with many features, and would strongly recommend this QTX product. Perhaps also consider the twin speaker system which they also produce. Enjoy

This is a very useful PA for use in a small space. There are inputs for USB memory or SD cards. Inputting either automatically access the files and there is even a little remote to make selecting files easier. One down side is that if you remove the USB or SD the unit the FM radio kicks in and can be very loud. The RCA phono / jack input makes it easy to run sound from a laptop or MP3 player. There are two microphone inputs are controlled through a single volume knob. You can also add echo which makes this PA an ideal small karaoke machine A guitar or electronic keyboard can be plugged in to one of the microphone ports if required. The Wireless VHF microphone works adequately and would be OK foroccasional use but would not be robust enough for regular usage.Volume and sound quality are good in a small venue. There are more powerful models for larger spaces but the price goes up accordingly. The whole package is excellent value and it does most of what you want in the one box. It is really not very heavy at all and the wheels and retractable handle are a good touch.

I use this for PA at our Cadet Camps and competitions. It is battery powered which last all day with moderate use and the speaker is load enough to cover quite a large area of open space. The supplied radio mikes are good but you need to get right up to the mike to speak, but they have a range away from the speaker of around 15-20m.At night you can connect an MP3 or ipod and it becomes a music centre. You can connect an external 12v battery to the speaker to extend power time - or simply plug into the mains if you are near a power source. There are a good number of connection options if you want line in ect, btu I don't use this so cannot comment. The system is light and easy to transport - it comes on wheels or has a side carrying handle.I bought a cover for it (specific to the model) which is handy to keep it clean.Overal I am happy with this - it does what I want it to and I am happy with the battery life and connectivity to other devices.

From the reviews I was expecting a good device, but am blown away by this PA! Very very impressed, sound quality is fine for what we want - which was simply a portable PA for a club - mainly for meetings as our chairman is very quietly spoken and could not be heard peoperly - he can now! Also a little music sometimes and the built-in MP3 player is just right fr this too. Everything works and it is easy to move and set up. The control panel is perhaps a bit difficult to see and use, but it is well tucked away in it's recess where it is unlikely to get damaged during transport. We have not yet used it long enough to run the battery right down but have found it will play background level music outdoors for at least 6 hours continuously.Top marks.

This piece of kit is absolutely fabulous. The sound is clear and can be belted out to middle size audiences - both indoors and out. I love the simplicity of the controls and personally use a USB key with all my backing tracks on it. Took a while - about 5minutes - to get used to the remote control but now it's a breeze.I normally use a Shure microphone and found the 'directional' wireliss mikes a little difficult to start with, but once I'd bought some 'mufflers' to cover the head they are great. No ppfff ing. Just got to learn to hold the mike differently. No sweat. So for the money, I'd say this PA system is brilliant and well worth the five stars.

Purchased this item for a function suite were I D.j .The manager wanted to use my disco system and radio mic for the wedding speeches.Which to be honest i didn`t fancy doing.I looked around for a suitable stand alone idiot proof system and came up with the QTX QR 12PA SYSTEM .Wow what can you say it is the best value for money system i have ever bought. The Radio mics work perfect and the music sound is quite good i put a load on a usb stick for background music and it works a treat. Together with the battery powered option this is an ideal system .

Was looking for a system loud enough for 100-150 seater room- a system that can produce clear professional sound, is hussle free in terms of operating it; one that can play from multiple sources of sound including my smart phone - this system did the job right. I feel like it can work perfectly for a 200 seater room. Only small hitch is that the mic has to be held and used in a particular position to work effectively. Otherwise so far so good after a month of purchase. And ooh the delivery was super quick ...2days. Can't complain.

Bought this cheap wee speaker in July 16, have used it for pub gigs, an open air wedding ceremony, barbecues and small hall receptions. It's a brilliant little bit of kit. Forget the cordless mics they are rubbish( a half decent one would cost as much as this speaker), just buy a decent mic and hey presto. The battery pack lasts for ages. It is so light and quick to set up. I throw it on a tripod stand and use a share sm58. Perfect for a solo artist or for parties etc. Idiot proof!

Pro: This is a great for outdoor or large events, I found it was easy to use with an iPod attached. It's not too heavy and produces a good sound and it's well priced. Delivered promptly.Con: I found that with a SD card inserted, so that I could use the remote, it was hopeless; the remote will only work if it is pointed to the back of the machine, not helpful if you are at the front of the machine and need to stop the music after each track.

I was Very pleased with this equipment ,it does everything described .have just tried it out at home but will be going onto the streets next week for a weeks use . The only difficulty I found while testing was the feedback I got when using the echo on the amp effects. I was surprised how good the both wifi mica were . If it performs well with my band on the streets next week I will up my rating to five stars.

27.5.2015

Brilliant well worth the money, great to have two wireless microphones really useful for karaoke at barbecues!...main reason for buying it was my son is into performing and it works well with his other microphone, learning how to connect it all up and link iPad to it so that he can go out busking. Holds charge really well great with the wheels and handle for manoeuvering

These guys are awesome, they sent me my order without delay as i had a slight urgency with this. It got to me in one business day - amazing...Product is great, bit hissy on the microphones, trying to record on the output makes it a bit challenging, but once you get it bang on you don't need to change it anymore.Great stuff! Couldn't be happier.

25.10.2015

I brought the QR10PA for a birthday party of 80 people and used it in a hall. It was one of the best buy and I highly recommend this item that was so easy to use, connection and function (all on the back) was simple. I connected it to my computer and the sound were excellent. It is sturdy with two wheels so moving this item was effortless.

Arrived promptly. Worked straight out of the box. Had it for a month now and so far very happy with it. Plenty loud for any outdoor uses I'd have for it and battery hasn't died once yet between charges. I've probably gone for around 5/6 hours at a time between charges, and had it at quite a high volume throughout. Great product so far!
