LG is a brand I trust and as we already have two LG TVs there was no question that our new DVD player was going to be an LG.The player is compact which is great when space is at a premium. It was an absolute breeze to set up, literally took just a few minutes. We used a gold plated HDMI lead to connect it to the TV, plugged it in, and we were good to go.We love simplicity and switching between Sky and the player is so easy, a quick press of the input button on the TV remote, choose the DVD and you're ready to watch. Same easy operation going back to Sky.The picture quality is excellent, as is the sound. The player also works with Blu-Ray discs but we haven't tried one of those in it yet.All in all this really is perfection,

This is my 3rd purchase of this model, one in bedroom, one in living room that has developed a fault (display is green) but has been much used over the years. This one is a replacement. Love the new case finish design. We love it for dvds and especially the media player, we have many home movies dated from 1960s up to present day plus thousands of photos copied onto usb sticks. This player plays them all along with a huge collection of films in various formats on several HDDs and USB sticks. The BP250 is a gem and we highly recommend it.

Simple plug in and play device. The functions are perfect for me. I don't need the extras as I have another device.I did find that the built in menus were not labelled which was which quiet annoying at first. Had set the language menu to auto select English. Put a foreign language disc in & had to go into the disc menu to change the language again.All in all, it's a nice looking cheap little player.I'd recommend if your not looking for anything overly complicated or expensive.:-)

Really pleased with the product so far. I'd read a few favourable reviews on other sites and so far it has lived up to my expectations. It was easy to set-up and I've had no problems with it so far. I paired it up with my LG TV and it is possible to operate some functions from my TV zapper! I think this is a good quality basic blu ray/DVD player. It doesn't have all the 'bells and whistles' of some of the more expensive models, but it is competitively priced and does all the basics efficiently!

This little box does everything that a blu ray player should - playing blu rays perfectly,with good clear sound, and any dvd put in is upgraded to almost blu ray quality. It will play photos and a few other things, but all I wanted was a blu ray and dvd player and this LG has one of the best ratings for just that. I downgraded the features because I know some people want players that all but make the tea., but if simplicity and quality is what you want, look no further. Highly recommended.

I had to buy a Blu-ray player quickly as my old DVD player/recorder (of another make) broke after 13 years and I wanted to be able to continue watching my old DVD disks. I've only had it a week and haven't yet had much time to try it out, but set-up was really simple with a clear on-screen menu. I bought an HDMI lead separately beforehand. The machine works fine playing "commercial" DVD disks and a home-made DVD of my old pictures. I haven't yet tried the USB socket. I hope the machine lasts.

I have purchased a number of these to use as a DVD/Blue Ray players but equally as important to act as a player for .MP4 items via an external Hard Disk Drive. BP250 supports playing external films/programmes etc in MP4 or viewing .jpg files. I use WD Elements 4TB drives which work really well (as most DVD players which support an external HDD are to max 2TB) . The drive can then hold huge amounts of content and with the upscaling capability means that the picture on screen is really ggod.

It was my first time with blu-ray so I wasn't sure what to buy. My tv is LG so I thought I wouldn't be disappointed but I didn't want to spend too much so I bought this LG BP250. I only have a couple of blu-Ray dvd's but the improvement is like going from music cassette to cd. What a difference. Even my ordinary dvd's look and sound better with this player. It connects easily and the set-up is easy too. I think it's a great buy and I would recommend it. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I wanted a player that upscales standard dvd's to full hd format. also I did not want anything "smart" as in my experience they never work well . this little lg bp250 is brilliant , great picture, sturdy build quality, very easy set up, just plug in and one hdmi cable to tv. sound quality depends on the speakers you have. most modern "smart" tv's do not have quality speakers built in, I have an lg sh7 soundbar connected to an lg uhd 4k tv (both from argos too) and it sounds great..

If you want a simple inexpensive Blu-ray/DVD player then this is it. No unnecessary frills or complications. Plug it in to the TV via HDMI cable (not supplied but they said so) and plug it into mains. Off you go, simple as. Can't fault the price. Don't forget folks, at this price, it's a PLAYER, it doesn't record, need to pay a lot more if you want that. Oh yes, there's also a USB port so you can connect a memory stick, hard drive etc but your TV's probably got one of those anyway!!

Bought this whilst on holiday as the DVD player in the log cabin wasn’t working properly and was making our box set a drag to watch as the picture was distorted and the sound awful.Plugged this one in immediately and it was fantastic! Really easy to install and to use and the quality is amazing for the price.LG have definitely got it spot on, I would have no hesitation to recommend this fantastic product. It’s so versatile, can be used as your main player or fab for a gift!

This is the second one I have now purchanced. The first one for myself and the second one for my sister. It is a lovely small DVD player and doesn't take up too much room and has a sleek look. The only fault I could find with this is the fact it does not come with a HDMI cable which can be a pain if you don't have one laying around at home. Other than that it is a lovely thing and I would buy it again and reccomend it to anyone looking for a budget friendly DVD and BlueRay player

I brought 2 of these players for the price how couldn't you :) no features bar the power button and open button who needs a lcd screen and features when this dual machine plays as well if not better then a player with all them features with triple the price tag. I don’t know how i put up with my old machine with a such a slow load time. Its lightening fast even on blu ray tv box sets with extra features to load. Easy menu at start up honest cant recommend this player enough.

This piece of kit is so simple to connect that if you have kids, they could do it . There are only 2 leads needed, a mains supply which is provided with a small transformer. A lead that was not supplied that is needed and that's a hdmi lead . Connect those two up and away you go. The remote even had a triple A battery supplied.. Because of the size of it and how light it weighs, I wouldn't recommend stacking anything on it. A brilliant picture as you would expect from Bluray .

After first install, found lip sync was out and got worse the further into a Blu-ray I watched, I tried multiple Blu-ray Discs of different ages and all did the same.I did a firmware update and this sorted the issue immediately, which I feel is not great if someone is not tech savvy.Once the firmware update was done the Blu-ray player has been great, I cannot fault the item now, picture is great, sound works awesome with my Sonos system, and a great player for the price.
