I must be one of the only people who still exclusively uses fountain or dip pens for everyday use, so I spend a lot of time with inky fingers and get through a fair amount of bottled ink, and I have to say that this Lamy ink is very, very good. It's actually black, with very little change of colour as it dries, or at the edge of the pen stroke (some inks leave a distinct brown or blue edge), and the bottle itself is sensibly designed. When I saw the little paper dispenser at the bottom, my first thought was 'gimmick', and was slightly disappointed at the plastic feel of the base, which rather spoils the quality of the glass top. However,as I've used it that blotter strip has come in so handy - it's right there where you need it when dipping or filling - so there's actually been far fewer 'little accidents' and my fingers are notably finger-coloured. If you're looking for genuinely high quality ink, this is worth the price and won't disappoint. In fact, if the base were slightly more weighty or quality I'd give it 6 stars out of 5.

So I did the some ink testing so far it feels smooth especially on dip pen. The fountain pen I used was the Lamy safari fine nip pen but since its new I need some getting use to anyway.Paper I used was stander cartridge paper.Smear test was me smearing the the 3 strips in different time.-immediately-10 seconds-20 seconds-30 secondsGrid was a water test I waited 1 minute before but of water on it-top left was wiped immedietly-top right was after 30 second- was after 1 minuteBottom page splodge was a dry brush test and it work well with a brush but it dries reletivly quick.I'm using this for drawing and it's aright for that use the ink neutral black, doesn't smear as much and it draws fairly smoothly. Not water proof so do not use white gel pen or water colour with it.

You are buying a washable blue ink here - so that is to say that the colour is not the most striking of blue but it is safe to use in just about any pen and will easily wash away (and can even been erased with an ink-eraser pen). In this regard it performs very well. However, it's not the boldest washable blue ink out there (perhaps that would be 'Eclat de Saphir' by J. Herbin) and nor is it the most economical (especially not when bought from amazon). What makes it stand out its very practical bottle design (easy to open, fill from, and with handy blotting paper). As filling from not-thought-out bottle can be a problem, I would say that this is a real win.

I bought this for my 10 year old son for christmas together with the ink converter. Unfortunately the converter went walkies - rolled out of the envelope and disappeared! Anyway I finally replaced it and my son loves it. Very easy to fill and hopefully it will eventually save me some money. It looks bigger than it is because of the blotting paper but it has a nice solid feel about it. I don't want him to take it to school for obvious reasons so he has to remember to refill it regularly. He says it seems to erase more cleanly with the ink eraser than the cartridges (he is prone to mistakes!).

It’s definitely a good, convenient and simple ink to buy. two significant convenient factors are bult in to the design. Such as the roll of blotting parer with a water proof side so you don’t get blue fingers when cleaning off ink. The next one is the dip at the bottom of the bottle to make sure you get every pennies worth of ink. But a downside is the ink has a bit of a washed out tone to it. It’s not terrible but of you prefer a more darker blue you will be dissatisfied. You must take into account when you consider the conveniences factors and the prise it’s a good product for beginners.

A great quality ink that has a well designed internal filling chamber (turn the stoppered bottle upside down and back to fill) plus it has the great touch of a goodly length of tear-off absorbent tape for blotting up the odd drop of ink on the end of the pen. My Lamy responds well and never suffers clogging or blobbing with this product. Great ink if you like to hand-write your notes and letters or enjoy ink sketching. The black is quite intense and fairly 'permanent' as you will discover if you get any on your fingers. Not cheap, but when is quality cheap.

I have over the last year been a convert to Lamy Ink & rate it most highly. I use straightforward Lamy Blue in my finest pens including Vintage Fountain Pens. Lamy ink is an absolutely premium product at a not quite premium prices, although not cheap. Lamy Ink is nice to use, and the colour dries nicely on the page & retains its vibrancy when dry. This is very true of Lamy Turquoise, a really gorgeous colour. In my fairly limited experience with inks I would say that Lamy is my favourite.

Finding red ink in normal retail outlets was nigh impossible and was really pleased to see not only red ink, but also from Lamy (makers of my fountain pens). Being an accountant, I do lots of writing and sometimes in red ink too. My pen sits nicely through the hole making the syringe action very easy and the added touch of a little tissue dispenser with tear off perforations that the ink bottle sits in was a fantastic idea. Well done Lamy.

Really nice ink. Flows well, no perceptable feathering even on low quality paper. Used with a Lamy Safari and converter cartridge.Lamy's blue/black colour is my favourite blue/black and looks amazing. Really prominent but not too vibrant as to be tacky or harsh.Downside is that the ink bottle comes attached to a plastic base and has a plastic lid, unlike leading competitors (Quink). So not good if you're trying to reduce plastic waste.

Great quality ink - I have a Lamy pen with an Extra Fine nib and found that filling it with my old pot of Quink meant the ink flowed a little too fast and left too much on the page. This ink is _slightly_ more viscous, so flows at just the right rate to mean my writing is once again (more or less) legible.Nice pot design, with a roll of blotting paper inside the base to wipe the nib after refilling.

Best ink ever. There's a well in the bottle so you can dip your pen in and fill a cartridge without having to tip the bottle. It also comes with the thoughtful addition of a roll of blotting paper cleverly inserted into the container the ink sits in, which is always useful The ink is really black and consistent and runs smoothly. Better than that other well known UK brand.

The ink is good, the bottle is interesting but not exactly efficient. You still get ink on the pen barrel. It might come into its own when the ink is running out though. The blotting paper strip is a nice idea but it is not very useful. I use a kitchen towel instead... Probably won't purchase this again when it runs out, It is more expensive than good old Quink.

First time using bottled ink and someone recommended Lamy. I’m glad they did! I got the turquoise one as I fancied a change from my usua black or blue, and I’m really happy with it. It works with all of my nib sizes (I have extra fine, medium, and broad), and the little pull-off blotting paper is helpful. All in all, a great buy.

The colour is a bit... ashy? The colour is nice but a little dull, and the ink doesn’t wash off hands easily. I think this ink might not be washable. Otherwise, a great product. I like the blotting paper roll that comes with it, and the deep reservoir - these features make refilling pens much easier.

I ordered a special of Lamy ink. I was extremely pleased at both the speed of delivery, and the packaging. Although it was difficult to unpack, it ensured that the ink arrived unbroken, which cannot be said for products that I have ordered elsewere. I was very satisfied all round.
