I don't usually write reviews so quickly as I've only had these for 2 days. If you buy these for the right purpose, you'll probably be as pleased as I am. But keeping in mind the limitations will stop you wasting your money.Firstly, the build is a little flimsier than I was expecting for £100. Also keep in mind, with all 3 tubes on a 105mm lens, it's massive and cumbersome. I can't see me chasing fast moving insects with this. I'm using these with a Sigma 105mm macro. Also keep in mind, the MAXIMUM focus distance with all 3 tubes on (for the Sigma) is 30cm. I had a flower I wanted to fit all of it in, I can't! Because if I move back far enough I can't focus. Speaking of which, with all 3 tubes, forget autofocus! The lens stabilisation does work with these though. So for larger items you want to macro, you don't need these.Where this does come into it's own. The flower pictured is about 5mm in diameter and usually I'd have to crop it down. When taking shots of tiny insects your practically dropping to a 640x480 image once you've cropped the background off. But you can see the difference in the flower with and without the extension tubes (both are at the closest focusing distance). The Ladybird picture is with all 3 tubes on the Sigma 105mm with the closet focus distance. It's completely uncropped. Without the tubes the ladybird would usually make up about 1/16th of the shot.So if you want to capture tiny flowers or tiny insects (slow moving). These are ace... but be prepared to add remove them in the field if anything bigger comes along.

I had a set of these Kenko extension tubes before when I was trying macro. I liked them so much that I bought a macro lens then sold the extension tubes. I rather regretted that because as well as turning any lens into a macro lens, they can also be great for using WITH a macro lens. You can then get extreme macro images, although you your field craft may need practising as the depth of field can become razor thin. A tripod may well be needed unless you have very steady hands. So I bought a new set.I went for Kenko as, although much more expensive than some extension tubes you can buy, they are good quality and give electrical connectivity between your lens and camera, something which I find very useful. Also, cheaper tubes of poorer quality can jam on the lens/camera, which can be very expensive.I've added a couple of images taken with the tubes and my 90mm macro lens to give you any idea. The bush cricket was about 3mm only and the spider about 7mm. The moss was tiny too but looks cool when taken with the macro lens and tubes, so you can see what can be achieved with care.Read full review...

Thinking about getting extension tubes, to try to increase the magnification. The Nikon tubes were too pricey, yet these were although still expensive the next best alternative. Ive heard that people using cheap tubes are often disappointed with the results.Only done a few photos so far and am not disappointed. They work brilliantly on my Tamron 90. I find its fairly hard to get the settings correct at the moment but the images once set seem excellent. Depth of field is very shallow and takes a bit to get used to.I'm sure with time I will start to get amazing images with the tubes, it's just learning how to get the best out of them.Great addition to the macro world

I bought these tubes recently and they work fine. With these I can focus closer and achieve greater magnification with my fast prime lenses turning them into a makeshift macro lens which is great because they take up less space than my dedicated macro lens, making travelling with my camera easier. I also use these with my dedicated macro lens to achieve more than 1:1 magnification and closer focus. All in all, if you are into macro or thinking about trying it, these extension tubes are great tools to enhance your photography. They also maintain connection between the lens and camera so focusing and changing the aperture can be done through the camera.

So far all good easy to use and fit to camera and lens. This is a well made product and looks to give long service. Started with the prime 50mm which can give slightly over 1:1 then tried out one of my zoom lens which seems to comfortable around 100mm, not the same mag but allows some standoff. Added light will be needed in most cases as there will be a drop in light reaching the camera.

I thought I would try some macro-photography during lock-in and these generally get a good review. Having tried them they are great at getting really close to subjects with my Nikon 105 macro lens and work with the auto-focus system on my Nikon camera. Really good quality and in excellent used condition. Really pleased with them, they are great addition to my photographic equipment.

Kenko Auto extension tubes which communicate with the camera ie. aperture and shutter speed are a great alternative to having to pay out vast amounts of cash for expensive macro lenses.I have tested the extension tubes 12mm,20mm and 36mm in various sequences on my DLSR and was very impressed with the results,i would most definately recommend them .

I found these tubes connect to my Nikon D7100 camera and each other very smoothly and lock precisely in place, unlike a cheaper version I bought from another manufacturer which never connected that smoothly... ... There isn't much else to say about it except it does a lovely job......
