I bought the Raynox DCR-2025Pro 2.2x lens through Amazone in mid May this year. I had agonised over whether to upgrade my Sony DSC-H5 digital camera to a Sony HX1, or buy the Raynox lens. As the H5 has all the features I need, and takes very good photos, I decided to keep it and go for the Raynox lens. (All the reviews I'd read gave the lens a good write up). I tested the lens on my H5, and it does give very clear and crisp results. It appears to actually reduce the "purple" fringing which I sometimes get when taking photos against a bright background. I have also tested the lens against a Sony HGD-1758 1.7x teleconverter which I own. The Raynox does indeed produce clearly observable better images.I tested the Raynox on a Sony DSC-H1, and a Panasonic FZ7 camera. It produces exellent images on both cameras (The Panasonic FZ7 images are particularly crisp). The body of the Raynox appears to be made largely of a hard plastic and is much lighter (350 grams) than the Sony VCL-HGD 1758 (530 grams). I don't know if the Raynox lens elements are made of glass, but whatever these are made of, the quality seems to be superb. The threads of the lens and its adaptors are made of plastic, so you need to be careful when attaching it (to prevent any risk of cross threading). All in all, I am very, very pleased with the quality of the Raynox, and obvioulsy with the excellent photographic results the Raynox 2025Pro 2.2x lens gives, and would recommend it as a well worth accessory for people who own any of the above mentioned cameras. If any readers would like to see some of the images I took with both lenses, I would be happy to provide them - Just contact me through Amazon. Kind regards, Phil Edwards. North Wales. United Kingdom.

After much deliberating i decided to take the plunge and bought this lens for my FZ45 & FZ18 cameras. It does what i expect and is simple to assemble. When you consider that the FZ45 can be set up to x53.9 optical zoom at 5mp setting.Multiply that by 2.2 with the above lens fitted. This model comes with 4 Adapter rings as it is compatible with other makes of camera. The Lens and cap covers front and rear.A lens shade and shade cap. A carrier pouch. When everything is connected it is a formidable looking beast and could take some getting used to.I use it with a stand as well hand held.I am pleased with it and having it may just mean that upgrading to DSLR may not be neccessary. The FZ18 works wellwith the Lumix 1.7 telphoto lens. The FZ45 works welland is given even greater flexability with the Raynox Lens. Both are easy to assemble onto either camera. From order to delivery was quick and what i'd expect in todays market.See [...] for more information.

I wanted this for shooting wildlife video with my Handycam. I also have a canon 300mm F2.8 lens which I use with my DSLR which cost several thousand pounds. While I wouldn't want to suggest that the Raynox can compete with the Canon, for video applications less resolution is required and combined with the handycam the results from the Raynox are really excellent. I've been able to film birds in close up and the Handycam video footage looks excellent and compares well with video footage filmed with a DSLR.I expect this would also work well with a bridge camera, but bear in mind the limitations of the technology. Stills photography is a lot more demanding on the optics of both the camera and the Raynox,so don't expect to double the reach of a bridge camera which may already have a 20x plus zoom and still expect to have anything like a sharp image. Also, a tripod is pretty much essential with this accessory.

I was uncertain about such an expensive lens, having tried cheap teleconverters in the past and found them to be useless, but this lens is excellent and has extended my Fuji HS10's range to a wapping great 66xThere is only the slightest hint of colour fringing, even on pictures of the moon and Jupiter.Focussing a little tricky where things are too close, but macro usually fixes that, and the HS10 has manual focus any way. With this I was able to get a good silhouette picture of a red kite being harassed by a crow, very high in the sky. Also a great picture of Jupiter where you can actually see the cloud bands.Well worth the price.Do not waste your money on cheap lenses which will just give distorted rainbows. This lens does exactly what it claims. The only minus that I would give it, is that the adapters to screw it on seem very flimsy for such a heavy lens.

This Raynox teleconverter is light yet solidly made and comes with 4 step up rings to fit a number of common lens thread sizes. You can also get the rings cheaply from Amazon should you need a replacement as they are standard items. In the box are the 4 step up rings (F62-M43, F62-M55, F62-M52, F62-58), the lens hood, end caps for the lens with and without the lens hood fitted, as well as a nifty padded drawstring bag to protect it.I bought this to use it with a Fuji Finepix HS20EXR making it a massive 66X optical zoom camera, moon shots and wildlife photography are a breeze with this lens. I certainly don't have any complaints about image quality,I'd recommend the Raynox 2.2X teleconverter to anyone who wants to increase the reach of their camera, it's extremely well engineered.

Great lens and works really well with my FZ45. Yes its big, but its an 80mm aperture so you cant expect anything else. I would hate to imagine the size of a lens you would have to use to get the equivalent performance on anything other than a bridge camera. You can use this for many different photographic needs. Taking pictures of birds and animals at impossible distances. I have taken pictures of the moons of Jupiter and the craters on the moon with just and ordinary tripod and my FZ45. It extends the use of you camera enormously. My FZ45 has a setting on the camera for the use of telephotos and it makes using this lens extremely easy. Optics are of excellent quality and the body is made of solid well turned metal. If you can afford this don't go for cheaper alternatives.

I have owned the Raynox DCR 250 macro lens for quite a while and i have now finallybought the DCR 2025 Telephoto lens for my Fuji HS20EXR...The lens comes very well packaged and includes a soft bag for storing the lens and also4 ring in different sizes for connecting to your camera..Also a sun shade is included for the end of the lens.I was shocked at the 66x zoom this lens gave me on the HS20 when added to the normal 30x the camera has.Great for getting close up shots of those animals that are just too far away with the normal lens. The lens also comes with a cap for both ends to protect the lens while not in use.The lens feels good and solid and does not seem cheap at all..Overall i am overthe moon with this lens.

I bought this to use in conjunction with a top-range Panasonic camcorder and I am very happy with it. Why only four stars? Well, maybe its me but this thing is quite long and, when its mounted on a videocam (especially with its supplied lens-hood, it is a job to find any bag to carry it in. As its a screw-thread I prefer to have it already mounted on the camera so I don't run the risk of losing a shot. Maybe I'm asking too much? The picture quality is acceptable, in order to get those long-shots, although there is an inevitable loss especially when shooting anywhere near the direction of the sun. All in all though, I am really glad I bought it so I guess it ought to warrant 4.5 stars?

This was a great buy, yes expensive, but high quality and does exactly what it should do - producing sharp images (when using a monopod). I have a Fuji Finepix HS50 EXR bridge camera and the 58mm ring fits exactly. There are also 3 other ring sizes included in the pack. The lens was well packed for travel and arrived totally undamaged (always a worry when buying from overseas). The seller was super helpful too when my local delivery office managed to 'mislay' my parcel, which the seller had sent promptly. You get what you pay for with things like lenses and this lens was well worth the cost. I definitely recommend it

After a lot of research about tele-converters for my Fuji HS 10 my first choice was going to be the Sony 1.7 lens but it is unavailable apparently, so I decided to invest in the more expensive Raynox. I have only had it a couple of days and am absolutly delighted with the quality of this lens, in my opinion the 2.2 lens quality is unbeatable at the price I paid, there is no difference in the printed 30x zoom or the 66x zoom images. I would recommend this piece of kit to any point and shoot merchant(I include myself)who likes to get some good wildlife shots

Anyone thinking of buying a add-on telephoto lens to their Bridge camera's etc should buy this item or the DCR-2020 which is exactly the same lens they eat the Olympus TCON-17 for breakfast and every other TC on the marketThese aren't just a magifying lens in a plastic tube like the other these are engineered lenses and are easily capable of producing superb shots of distant birds etcDo yourself a favour and invest in one of these beauties! ok they are more expensive than others but these actually work! so no contest

I've only just started testing this piece of kit and the first results are favourable. In some conditions (lighting) and with some smaller sized subjects, I did find some colour fringes.Perhaps further experimenting and experiencewill help to reduce this. The kit itself is pretty robust and fairly lightwieght.I'm looking forward to doing more fieldtests.A tripod or monopod would be ideally needed to compliment the 2,2x Lens.Subject to results from futuretests I would give this Lens a thumbs up.

This was my xmas present to myself, i picked this telephoto lens after watching a review of it on youtube , i am using this lens on a Fuji HS20 EXR , i have been using this lens for wildlife shots, excellent clear pics. Have also used this for street photography, where before i would have been in peoples faces, now i can pick my spot on the pavement and get close up and not be in anyones way. Very well made lens ,easy and quick to attach to the camera , nice balance and lots of fun.

I bought this lens to complement my new Fujifilm finepix HS20EXR, and complement it, it does! It's rather large and coupled with full zoom on the camera, it makes a formidable addition which ultimately requires a tripod/monopod to do it justice. Very clear shots can be taken with this lens and it feels every bit a professional quality piece of equipment. I can thorouoghly this lens for the HS20 and probably many more super zooms.

30.5.2011

I bought this lens for my Fuji HS20 EXR by recommendation. It is excellent and although you do need to put it on a tripod if you are careful you can get some excellent shots without.Would definitely recommend this. Couldn't find it any cheaper elsewhere. it comes with the connectors for most cameras. Not sure what "Mystic" was doing with his lens. Must have been faulty. Haven't had any of the problems he has described.
