I went Sony on the advice of a professional cameraman I know.Brought it in Bangkok and have had no trouble with either the camera or software after over 25 hours of filming & playback so far - is this the exception or the rule??The camera offers multiple functions and includes manual focus positioned next to a high quality Zeiss lens. Night operation is the best I've seen for any camera under about £900. Widescreen format and touch display screen add further dimensions, sound is excellent and the zoom (once you get proficient) is as smooth as silk. Finally, it's overall design, compact size and weight make it an absolute joy to use.

Happy with quality but software that came with it is terrible and could not use it.So i ended up using 'windows movie maker' which is simple although I am losing alot of quality when transfering video from my lap top to dvd. What am i doing wrong? Quality is great when i hook up directly to my TV or when transferred to my pc.....What am i doing wrong??Patrick
