I recently purchased this camera as I was looking for a small High Definition camera with a simplistic design and simple uploading options to YouTube, I previously had a mini DV Camcorder and it was a nightmare to find a good DVD ripping software in order to get the videos I recorded on to my computer in the first place, You won't have that problem here fortunately, all you need is the supplied USB cable, plug it up to your PC and literally drag the file onto your desktop, it's that simple, the video files are also in AVI format, which is a relief considering the many strange, unknown file formats I have come across in the past, video files can easily be edited in Windows Movie Maker and pretty much any other piece of movie editing software. The camera comes with everything you need, it was a relief for me that it came with a screw-in Tripod as I make video blogs in my bedroom quite often, it comes with a HDMI cable to connect to your HDTV, the USB cable as mentioned, an optional wrist strap etc. (all as stated in the product description). The battery is rechargeable, you can either plug it into the wall with the supplied plug and lead, or just hook it up to your PC with the USB cable. The Camera has excellent 1080p HD quality all round, it also has a built in light to brighten things up, but I noticed the quality is FAR superior outdoors and in lighter areas, don't get me wrong it doesn't look too bad in darker environments, but it has a noticeable, somewhat grainy look to it. And because the 1080p option doesn't have any zoom at all, whenever I go close to something, it comes out really blurry, for example, text on the computer will look really blurry when I get in close to it.The thing that REALLY bugged me about this camera was the fact that when I have recorded videos, I have had some audio problems with a few of the clips that I've recorded for no apparent reason at all, the clips in question had an almost unbearable static sound almost completely covering my voice and everything else for that matter when I played them back on my computer. I see NO reason as to why this should be happening, the camera is brand new and it is not damaged at all, yet it has happened twice to me now and is totally unpredictable, the microphone also doesn't sound as if it's coming from a high quality mini camcorder, but more like a mobile phone..Apart from this, the quality outdoors is absolutely stunning, if that's what you want mainly then I'd definitely recommend it for holiday goers and people who like to travel alot, I'd even recommend it to fellow YouTubers making video blogs, but as far as the audio goes, you can probably get something better if you save a little more money, like a HDD Camcorder for just as simple uploads and better audio quality, if anyone else is having this audio issue when they play clips back on their computer, please leave a comment if so and if you know of any way to fix it.Overall, the Camelio S20 has superb HD quality in the great outdoors, but it falls a little short for me when it comes to darker environments and indoor settings, and the audio issues I am having on and off are not helping either, thanks for reading, hope this review helped some.Reasons for 4 out of 5 starsPROS:Fantastic HD quality outdoorsVery compact, attractive look and design, comes with case and can be carried in pocket easilyVery easy to use, easy upload to YouTube and other video sitesComes with everything you need (EXCEPT SD CARD)CONS:Some audio problems on an unpredictable basis.Has a sort of grainy looking filter when recording indoors.

Ive had camcorders in the past, my last was a mini DVD camcorder but i found the messing around with dvds every 30 minutes annoying, especially when we were on holiday. To be honest this is the only real time i use camcorders so i didnt want to spend a fortune on something which will gather dust alot of the time, so i looked at the £100 mark to see if i could get something half decent. Now i know at this price range you cant expect the world, but i did want something which can cope with putting out decent quality video and isnt trying to do too many things at once, so the Camileo S20 1080P looked ideal, its got a decent feature set and the quality settings are varied enough to record high quality and low without any real sacrifices. The camcorder itself is lightweight and small,i have to say ive fitted the wrist strap as it realy is light and i was worried id drop it. The feel of it is nice, pretty good build quality and it does look realy smart. The main LCD screen is huge for the size of the camcorder, in fact nearly half of the camcorder itself is the screen. The back of the unit has the multi function controls. The record/ok button, zoom/menu scroll, light settings/left and so on aswell as the removable panel which hides the HDMI output (rarely a camcorder has this), standard TV out and USB sockets. The bottom of the unit has the tripod attachment socket. The top has the SD HC slot and the Macro / Landscape function switch. The back of the unit has the Camera/Camcorder function key to switch between Still camera and camcorder. The LCD is bright and realy clear, in fact its pretty top quality and big which is a bonus. You will get the usual blur when its realy bright, but its decent enough. The main menu is layed out well and is easy to navigate aswell as playback menus, nothing complicated. The battery is a rechargable pack which last about an hour so far and im impressed with it. Recording wise, i have a 16GB SDHC Class 7 (Id recommend nothing less than a class 5 for realy good access times). I think 16GB gets around 5-6 hours at 1080P recording (30 fps). The quality of recording is realy good, in fact i have to admit i was suprised, it matched my Canon DVD recorder without a problem and in fact looked better in colour saturation. The sound is good, nothing special, if your recording at 1080p you will notice some lag on fast moving objects, so id knock it down to maybe 720 which handles it much better if your recording anything like sports. At night or in low light conditions there is noise as most camcorders suffer from it, its not bad but it is obvious. In daylight its spot on, no problems and looks sharp. The package contents is great, aside from the camcorder you get a tripod, camera case, usb cable, tv cable, HDMI stock cable, manuals and software aswell as a 4GB memory card from some dealers.Overall this realy is a top performer in the £100-£180 price range and easily out does many others on the market, ideal for those who dont want anything too big to carry but still want quality....

Been needing a new portable camcorder for ages now, and this really did suit the bill. It's extremely small, which is a great feature, so even while in it's case, it fits in pockets easily. The recording quality is amazing. Inside when dark you'd need to mess with some of the features for best quality, but after that is great. I thought inside recording would be bad quality due to the other reviews, but it's not bad at all indoors. And outside recordings are so amazing. The HD is superb, loving 1080p recordings. But mostly like that I have a choice for 720p and lower to. HD does take up quite a bit of space, but if you buy a suitable SD card for the camcorder, you'll be fine. The menu is a little annoying, and could have been created a little bit easier to use, but it does have a lot of functions built in, and after a few days I'd got the hang of it.The box has a guide, cables for use with computer, as well as cables for use with TV's, a small tripod, a case, a wristband, the camcorder, 2 CD's, a cleaner, the Toshiba warranty and the mains charger (Which has a slot for American plugs). The items it comes with are amazing, and there is a lot of them. Other reviews say it comes with a SD card, which it does not.Packaging was very good, all in perfect condition when it came, very easy to open. I wondered when buying this if it would break easy, due to it being made of plastic, but I've dropped it already and not even a scratch was made, let alone a break. Very happy with the box it came in, would feel safe dropping it from a high distance (Not that I would). All in all this is a amazing camcorder, and even better for the money. And if your looking for something with great quality, and is a good price, this is the camcorder.

Very compact camera, handy screen which you can tilt so you can see if your filming yourself, or if your filming above/below you.Found the menu very easy to use, Missed the Zoom feature in Full HD, but hey, for £90 (bought it in the sale) its brilliant. I heard before that the sound wasnt very good, but i think its not as bad as i was led to believe, seems to pick things up just fine. (Admittedly it could be better, but for what it is its more than sufficient)Very light And variable flash settings. So many options, even in recording mode eg being able to record in Black and white, speia, negative, and even slow motion! Has many other handy settings including settings to make skin tones appear more natrual, settings if the person has a light behind them etc... too many to list.I woudl DEFINITELY recommend it to a fried, no question about that.Protective bags not too bulky either, will sit nicely in the corned of your bag and you wont even notice it! Could probably quite easily be carried in your pocket too.Nice and easy to watch videos from camera on the TV although the cable isnt particularly long, but just long enough for our TV.Bit of a pain it doesn't come with a Memory Card but they're easy enough to find around so its not too bad. Will be great from holiday, parties etc etc.For what would these days be classed as a budget camera... its pretty damn awesome.

I just got this camcorder today and I'm already loving it. Firstly, I was searching for a camera that would have been good for vlogging since I will be going on holiday soon and I wanted to do "follow me around" vlogs. I did so much research but I didn't want to invest on a very expensive camera since I am only 16 years old. I came across this one and looked at its video quality on youtube and I was highly impressed. I wasn't expecting a camera this compact and petite to be capable of producing such FHD (1080pb) videos. So I decided to get this one and I don't regret this purchase at the slightest. I played around with it and found that it was very light but that did not disappointment me.Before I bought this product, I knew its CONS such as; low quality in low light, lightweight and that it only had 5-16megapixels to capture pictures. I wasn't looking for a camcorder that could take photos so that was pretty much a bonus. I can't tell much about battery life as I did only recieve the cam today but as far as I know, it is sufficient! Cheap, handy and records at FHD, what more could you ask for? You really can't go wrong with this because I strongly believe you are getting more than what you payed for. I bought this along with a Transcend HDSD 16gb and a Gem case for it specifically all for £103.99 including delivery.

First impression are very good, It's slim, light, easy to pop in a pocket, just what I want. The box has everything from SD card, cables and even a small desk top tripod.Charging didn't take long and it runs for a long time. You are able to use as a standard digital camera or a full HD camcorder.Picture quality was at first disappointing, image was washed out and grey, this was in doors where light was not great, camera has a small light which comes on in low light conditions, outside it was superb.Camera shake was a problem, until I discovered the anti shake option which improved the quality.HD video recording again suffered in doors with low light, the white balance also struggled and left a lot of white images whited out.Out doors it was brilliant.I have still not overcome the indoor low light problem, which I understand is a problem with camcorders as a rule, but a flash would of helped the camera.Connecting was very easy both to the PC and HDMI connection. The camera has a fiddly menu system which I found hard to use.All in all a lovely camera, just wish it was better indoors, value for money it is superb, and your love the size and feel.

Bought this about 3 months ago after reading lots of reviews. Very impressed with the quality of picture for the price. I saw several reviews that said it wasn't great indoors, but didn't worry as that isn't what I wanted it for generally, but I've found that it is better than I expected and if there is plenty of artificial light, it's pretty good - the nearer the light the better the result. Very easy to start using straight away with a quick look at the instructions. You may need to download codecs if using a computer with XP. It's fine on Vista. Slim, (and great size for handbag) but still has good sized screen. Added December 2013.Lost charger so tried charging from computer via USB cable (not necessarily the one it came with - they all look the same). Although it appears not to charge ie no flashing blue light; it does actually charge, perhaps more slowly, so don't give up if you are in the same situation. Still very happy with camcorder - (and charger reappeared eventually!).

I've taken some great footage with this camcorder - namely with a tripod on a bright day. The image quality in ideal conditions is really quite stunning. Colours are faithful and the exposure isn't too bad at all.In low light conditions and hand-held you might want to forgo the effort. Although I bought it because of its tiny size, this has actually turned out to be a disadvantage for handheld filming; it's very hard to get a steady, stable grip.Bafflingly, the mic is positioned just where your fingers wrap around. But then, even without a fat finger covering the mic, the sound on this is pretty lame. However, any criticism of something that does so much (the timelapse mode is a lovely bonus)and is so cheap and easy-to-use feels unnecessarily harsh. Know what you're buying and you'll be delighted with it. Don't expect a high-end camera. Do expect a wonderfully convenient point-and-shoot recorder.

I bought the Toshiba Camileo S20 because I needed an inexpensive, easy-to-use no frills video camera and that's exactly what I got. It's fast to turn on and get into action, video quality is great and sound is basic but ok for amateur purposes. I love the reversible screen so you can actually check yourself when recording videos. As a camera it's ok, great definition but the lack of a synchronized flash does limit low light flexibilty, although the built in light can help somehow. In video mode, the zoom does not work and that's a little bit annoying, but having used other brands digital zooms on products of similar category, I can guarantee that your not going to miss it. Great accessories included,HDMI cable, case, strap, mini-stand and cleaning cloth, plus power supply and assorted cables. Excellent super value for my money. Recommended.

This is a great little camcorder at an amazing price. Slim and light, it fits easily into the pocket and you only have to pull open the screen for it to be ready to record. It comes with all the accessories you might need including an HDMI cable, a case, a tripod and, essential for me, a charger with both UK and european plugs. What about the downside? As you might expect, the control buttons are small although after a bit of practice, not difficult to use. The box contains only the briefest of instructions to get you started; the full manual has to be viewed on a PC. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect is that its performance in low light is not anywhere near as good my Sony digital tape camcorder. But, for most circumstances, the advantages of this camcorder at this price far outweigh the disadvantages. Videoing is fun again!

I had this video camera for about a week now and it is amazing. It has features like timeplase and slow motion which are fun to experiment with.I see a lot of mac users posting that they cant video the video files on a mac. Using a SD card adaptor can allow you to import the avi video files to view or edit on a mac system. The picture quality and sound is stunning the battery life is great. I used it for over an hour and still had 3 bars of bettery. Its easy to conenct to your tv to play back and the photo / still capture is great.I am happy with this video camera for the price. its nice that it charges from a usb conenction which means you can charge it from the mains ,from your pc or from acar charger.its also great that you can purchase a spare battery for it to from amazon.

Got this to use as a handy camera to capture family moments, not to produce epic effects laden nonsense. It`s a bit grainy in low light and digital zoom is never great, but it is adequate. (it enlarges a portion of the image and fills in the gaps rather than actually zooming in like optical zoom) but in daylight conditions it`s crystal clear and plays back fine on a 42 inch tv, (I use it on 720p) the microphone is also good so no problems with the sound. It looks super slick and comes with great extras, a tripod, case and HDMI camera to tv lead. I use it with a 16g class 6 datastore memory card. If you want something thats easy to carry that will give good results then for the money you can`t go far wrong with this,it isn`t after all a £500 camera, but it is good enough.

Toshiba Camileo S20 Flash analysis:Sound: 5.5/10 (The sound seems like a telephone).720p Image: (8.5 / 10). You need to activate the anti vibration.Image at 1080p (8 / 10). It has anti vibration. Should be used ONLY when using the supplied tripod, or it flickers a lot.Battery (9 / 10): Fully charges in approximately 90 minutes and gives lots of uses.Menus (3 / 10): They are not intuitive, you lose a lot of time back to your restore default settings.GOOD: Compact, light, picture, battery.Bad: Menus, absence of stabilizer option 1080p.Final note: I never used the Youtube uploader software, provides from the Toshiba, because I prefercopying from my SDCard directly to my Pc.Greetings.

ITS BRILLIANT, VERY NEAT, COMPACT, EASY TO USE, SO EASY TO HANDLE.
