A solidly made bit of kit, all metal, very well finished. Fits my Olympus Pen like OE, going home with a reassuringly positive click. Unlike some cheaper extension tubes, this one has all the electronic connections needed so that automatic lenses will still communicate with your camera, enabling you to set exposure and focus on the camera and extract EXIF information. But you'll probably want to shoot on manual anyway. An extension tube isn't the same as a macro lens, but it can do nearly as much. Installation simply enables you to get the camera closer to the object you are trying to photograph...maybe just a couple of centimetres away, so you can get much of the same effect. This presents some significant challenges.Lighting will be tricky, given the additional magnification you'll be getting, and being so close the camera itself may cast a shadow over what you are trying to photograph. So you may need a ring flash unless you can use a very slow shutter speed. Any breath of wind will blur what you are trying to photograph, so for best results you may need to bring the camera and object indoors to a makeshift studio. And focusing at that short a distance may be difficult...I don't bother trying to focus with the camera controls, but put it all on a tripod with a moveable stage, and focus instead by racking the camera back and forth until I get the shot I need.Persevere, and you can take some really cracking close-up photographs to impress your friends. At 90 quid it's a pretty expensive bit of kit, bearing in mind that it contains no glass whatsoever. But I haven't found anything else that is as good at any price. How good your photographs turn out will depend on the quality of the lens you are using it with...I've got some great results with a 45mm and 17mm prime.

I bought these to use with my Olympus micro 4/3 cameras and a variety of lenses. I have previously owned several macro lenses, both on micro 4/3 and APSC cameras. The problem with the macro lenses was that they often got left at home to save weight and bulk when out and about. This attracted me to these tubes, for occasional subjects closer than the lens's normal closest focusing distance. The tubes are extremely well made and finished, with chromed mounts, anodised metal bodies and quality electrical contacts. I would have no hesitation in saying that they are as well finished as most high-end cameras. It is necessary to stick to the longer end of the focal range of "standard" zooms, but they also work well with telephoto zooms (I have the Panasonic 45-200 mm).The only drawback when using extension tubes is the lack of continual focus from infinity to 1/2 or 1/1, but for me the small size and bulk of this set more than makes up for that.

Until this purchased I hadn't associated Kenko with quality, these tubes have changed that. They feel like precision equipment and work that way too, better made than my Canon tubes. OK so there's no optical element to them but they mount and dismount smoothly with no sloppy movement. These tubes make my 14-150mm lens perform like versatile zoom macro lens with great results - highly recommended.

does exactly what you would expect from any good metal and electronic component that you are going to lash out good money for... and fix it to your ..."expensive" ..camera and lenses...it has to be good.. I use the tubes on my Sony NEX5N and the fit is perfect, and a very good purchase if you are going to go "macro". very pleased.

Used with my 45-200mm lens and Lumix GX7 they produced great results, individually and when combined to 26 mm. The tubes are well manufactured and they were delivered ahead of time, very pleased with the service, thank you.

They do exactly what they say they do. They are well made, a bit expensive for what they are, but at least I think they are pretty accurately made and will not damage the camera or lens which maybe the cheapo ones could.

Does what it says on the tin. I have taken some great close-up/macro shots with each individual tube. However, haven't yet managed to get a sharp focus when using both together

Excellent build quality and a joy to use - the connection between the tubes and the lenses is smooth. Good value for kit which should last a lifetime.

Does the job as described but seems expensive when you look at other makes of auto extension tubes. Probably made better ?

Delivered two days earlier than expected. Fits well onto lenses and camera auto focus etc. works well.
