*3.5 Stars*Malefacent's daughter, Mal and Ben, the crown prince son of Beast & Belle - together these Disney Descendants dolls make a nice gift for any Disney, Barbie, Doll, lover. Mal looks very much like her real life counterpart - her dress is a gorgeous shade of purple, which goes great with her purple streaked hair. Speaking of the hair, I thought it was cute, a "teen" style, but my granddaughter wasn't so fond of it. She enjoys combing and fixing the dolls hair, and this cut limits what can be done with it. The lace work on her dress is beautiful and well done, with no double stitches or loose strings. Her shoes are high wedges and are easily removed and replaced. Mal is an attractive character,

These Descendants toys are well made and sturdy, and about 14 inches tall. The facial features resemble those of the actors from the TV series, but are not exact duplicates, but my daughter is OK with that.Two problems: first, Mal is a lot better designed and manufactured than Ben, Poor Ben for instance has plastic hair which is molded onto his head in one position. Mal on the other hand has wavy hair that can be combed, styled, adjusted etc. Ben's crown is also awful and falls off his head very easily. We had to put some tape on it to avoid losing it in the first few hours of playtime. Mal also has all the cool accessories, and none of her stuff needs to be patched up in the way that Ben's crown does.In short,

Overall, I’m pleased with this set. The dolls seem to be good quality and having the set of two is nice. I wouldn’t have mentioned it, but I noticed someone else complained that their box was smashed. Mine was well packaged by Amazon, but still smashed. I don’t blame Amazon, I blame the designer of the box. The style just doesn’t hold up to any front pressure, even some little air bags in a larger box, apparently.MalThe doll is absolutely beautiful. I really have no complaints here. Her face is very pretty and her hair is nice quality and stays where it should be. She isn’t like a Barbie doll where girls can fix her hair though. It’s kind of stuck where it should be, but that is a good thing because it is nice.

This is a decent quality Descendants doll set. The texture, paint and quality of the outfits are all good. Both dolls are articulated. Mal’s hair is well done, especially the highlights. Ben has the typical male doll helmet hair and comes with crown and rose rose accessories. Collectors, older kids and younger kids alike should like this set, especially if they are a fan of the books or the movie. There is another 2 doll set with Ben and Mal available where she has a longer gown, her hair is worn up and she has a tiara hair accessory. Ben is basically identical in both versions. That set can be found here on Amazon, but they are not currently selling it directly. The prices shown are reseller prices.

Although I still don't think Mal looks like Mal, these two do make an adorable pairing. Mal comes wearing a simple but lovely little dress, paired with dragon finned shoes. Her hairstyle is a little on the terrible side, but a few adjustments and elastics and she can be rendered cute. She seems to be lacking the usual accompaniment of accessories- no earrings, bracelet, or purse, but I suppose she comes with Ben..Ben on the other hand, is of course wearing his crown, and is carrying a wonderfully molded rose, very appropriate for the son of Belle and Beast. I love his characters good nature, and his belief that everyone deserves a chance. Ben comes dressed very Princely, in jacket, shirt and pants.

Mal and Ben are the main characters in Disney Descendants so this is a nice two pack of dolls. They are wearing the outfits they wear at the very end - during the party after the coronation. My daughters love both Disney Descendants and dolls so this was the perfect set for them.The dolls are about the size of Barbie dolls and can be played with the dolls. Disney Descendants is huge right now, so this is a great set for kids who like the movie. Even if someone doesn't like the movie, they are attractive dolls.The dolls feel well made. They've played with them a lot and we haven't had any quality issues. My daughter can spend hours playing with them. This is a good deal for a two pack of the dolls.

We have a ton of Barbie and Disney Princess dolls in the house, but these are made a little more like Bratz dolls than our other princesses (not that I'm calling Ben a princess, though he is very pretty). The articulation, scale, and accessories are just much more Bratz-inspired, which I find curious. On the up side to that, Mal's dress is decent: a woven base with an embroidered lame. With a cool two-tone hairdo that my 9yo desperately wants, it's a pretty cool set. Ben, on the other hand, has a less-inspiring screen-printed suit and a crown that won't stay on his hair.While my girls liked the set quite a bit, I felt like for the price Mal is a solid 5-star, Ben is 3,

My twelve-year-old daughter is nuts about THE DESCENDANTS. She's seen the film over a dozen times, and can practically recite the dialogue by heart. She's never really been one to play with dolls, but she does have a few that she displays as collectibles, and this set has joined the ranks of her "Wall of fame" display. She was slightly disappointed that the figures aren't really based on the actors as they looked in the film, but they seem to be taken from the animated shorts that have been airing on The Disney Channel during commercial breaks. Despite their cartoony look, she has them proudly displayed, and is looking to add more to her collection.

This is the best Descendants pack ever! Price Ben is wearing a golden crown, blue and gold jacket, blue and gold pants, a white shirt, and a rose is in his hand. Ben has caramel colored hair and Mal has purple and black hair. Mal is wearing a lacy purple printed dress, she has golden shoes with a purple blob at the tip of her shoes. Ben has apricot colored skin and Mal has a really light pink skin. If you get this pack, you should also get Evie, Carlos, Audrey, Jane, Lonnie and the Disney Store exclusive Jay! This pack is so good it is worth more stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are awesome. I don't understand the less than 5 or 4 star reviews?! They are brilliantly made, along the lines of the Bratz or Monster High quality. They are large, larger than Barbie. Lots of talk about the clothes and how they are made, hard to take off, etc but most kids aren't going to undress and dress these dolls, they are going to play outright with them just the way they are.This show is becoming a huge hit with kids and really think making a move now instead of waiting until close to Christmas would be wise.

I was concerned when I got this for my daughter that it was some sort of Disney marketing experiement that kids had no awareness of.Surprisingly, when she and her friend opened it together, and just an inch of the packaging was visible, her friend screamed 'The Descendants!' lolWhat can I say? I am a dad who has his finger on the pulse of the trendiest kid's toys lol!I think her friend was more excited than she was, but it definitely was a hit - for as long as any toy is a hit...

This Disney Descendants 2-pack includes a set of fashion dolls: love interests Ben of Auradon (son of Belle and King Beast) and Mal Isle of the Lost (the daughter of Maleficent). The dolls are sporting outfits inspired by their final dance at the Coronation Ball as seen in Disney's Descendants movie. These dolls have provided loads of fun for my nine year old who happens to love the Decedants movie. I can see these dolls being under many Christmas trees this year!

My daughter (10) LOVES the Descendants. These dolls are great! They actually look like the characters they are supposed to be. Their clothes are very well made and look nice. The accessories match really well also. They are about the size of Barbies, so she can still use them with her Barbie stuff (house, car, etc.) But b/c they are characters she knows, it adds a whole new dimension of play. Overall, she loves them and plays with them all the time!

After waiting all summer to see this movie, my daughter was so excited to get both Mal and Ben in doll form. Both look very nice, but I don't think Mal resembles the actress that played her in the movie. My daughter had only one complaint. She says Mal is supposed to be wearing the coronation dress from the movie as it is light purple, but the dress is a lot shorter than the one in the movie. Not a big deal. She was over it in a couple of minutes.

Great dolls - my five year and eight year old squealed with delight when I took them out of the package. They both loved the Descendants movie on Disney over the summer and were excited to have the dolls to play with. I believe the dolls are made by the same company that makes the everafter high dolls too. They're very similar in design, well made and durable. If your little ones are fans of the movie, this is a very easy gift to choose.
