This is a large box with three base plates. There are some design suggestions included or you can design your own. Once you're happy with the design, iron over it and it fuses it together.A word to the wise - don't drop the box. It took hours, literally, to pick up all the tiny pieces out of the carpet.There is a good range of different colours and the tray has separate compartments to keep them all organised.The act of putting the little beads on the board is satisfying but quite fiddly. It is a nice meditative pastime but my child has usually had enough after 20-30 minutes, so we normally complete our designs in a few sittings.

Bought the midi Hamas bead kit for my 4 year old son (May 2011) as I was told these would strengthen his fingers for writing. The kit is large and comes with an instruction leaflet, pin boards and ironing paper. He loved just putting the beads on to the pin board and generally running the beads through his fingers. The beads are small but safe if eaten and doesn't hurt when trodden on too. With mummy's help we have made a fish and a shark both threaded onto cotton and put on sticks (for fishing) going to make a spider and a ladybird next. They are so versatile, we are even looking to buy more beads, maybe neon ones for fish? The possibilities are endless

This box if huge! Very good value for money. It was a gift for a 7 year old who loves it. My children have Hama beads too. They are aged 5 and 7 and I am not exaggerating when I say this provides hours of fun and entertainment for them. I have never seen such concentration and pride from my 5 year old son when he has completed a design! Well worth the money. Came well packaged and prompt delivery too. Very impressed!

bought as gift for my fiend's 9 year old daughter who will love this, my 11 year old also loves playing with these. Remember to iron them quickly when finished or your dog will knock them over and you will have multicoloured beads everywhere (we don't have a dog, and there are still beads all over my house!) many hours of pleasure for children! (and parents if you like hoovering)

My 5 year old daughter likes doing these, as does my teenage son though he'd never admit to it. Easy to make and lots of different sizes depending on how much patience your child has. Their efforts are rewarded fairly quickly and if they like what they've done, Mum can iron them and make them permanant. My daughter likes making them for other family members as a gift.

Got this for my 4 yr old son & both he & his 7 yr old sister love it. It keeps them entertained for ages & is really simple to do. Having the shaped animal boards is really good too especially for the younger ones as it means they don't have to worry about getting the shapes right.

If your kids like Hama beads then this is a great starter set. Includes some shaped boards as well as a mixture of coloured beadsOnce the bags are open though you do need to find something better to keep them in - a proper box which closes properly.

My 5 year old daughter loves hama beads and has asked numerous time to get them for her friends birthdays (as this one was). This is a perfect gift set including beads and boards, ideal for birthday presents and for starting out with Hama Beads.

this set is great it comes with three peg boards square , rabbit and crocodile and 600 beads of varies colours so the possibilities of what you can make are endless . It comes with easy to use instructions and some designs that you can follow .

Love this, but hate using the iron with it. I have burnt (and cursed) many times. Also do not buy if you have a child who thinks it's hilarious to throw these little beads everywhere. It's not a fun game, nor are they pleasant to stand on.

Gt value. Love the way the beads have their seperate compartements. My niece is a scatty but she did keep the beads in their seperate compartements. Good all round value and fast standard delivery, considering it was Christmas.

my 10 yar old son got some hama beads from a charity shop and loved then.he made lots of stuff so when I found this on amazon I bought it to put away for him as a xmas gift,thrilled to find a product suitable for boys great

I bought 2 for each of my nieces for christmas, what a great buy, they played for hours making the shapes and sorting out the pieces into colours. Absolutely recommend if you dont know what to buy for a 5-6yr old girls.

We love Hama beads and this was a great buy! it only got a four star because a few colour choices were missing such as no brown and only a few black. Other than that lots of other colours and templates.
