I have given this 4 stars because whilst it was exactly what I was looking for the my 3 yr. old granddaughterGood quality etc. and delivery was excellent as needed for Christmas. As other people have mentioned the Perspex lid is not easy for a child to open or close and may be sharp. Most 3 yrs. olds are quite independent and will help to tidy things away so do get frustrated when they can't open or close the lid. A lid that lifts and closes would be better. I also agree care needs to be taken if playing along- side younger siblings because of the danger of swallowing the beads and necklace laces which they will find attractive.

Bought for my 4 year old daughter. Comes with 5 clasps, and various coloured strings for making necklaces, bracelets etc. You need to cut the strings to the required length, i would say each string you can get 2 necklaces out of. Obviously the max number of items you can make is 5, as you only have 5 clasps however, we constantly take them apart and redo them.I nearly took one point off purely because one of the pendants was splintered where you thread the string through. However this does not spoil the enjoyment of the beads, and that is the main purpose!Hours of fun, for a rainy day.

My 3-year old daughter was given this set for Christmas, and I would definitely recommend it (as long as her younger brother is napping while she plays with it). Good quality, good mix of bead colours/shapes. I especially like that the threads have long rigid shoelace-like ends, to help little hands manage the threading. My only criticism is that she can't put the lid back on herself, but it's a minor point. Lovely set.

Good quality beads and thread. Took it as gift for a little girl, and everyone had a play with it! She had fun making necklaces for everyone which could be undone and made into something new.Cons - no lid! This would have been much better if there was a sturdy top. Still, I guess you get what you pay for and you could put it into a cheerful tin.

I purchased this present for my four year old daughter for christmas as a little stocking filler. I already know that this is going to be a hit when she opens it as she loves playing with my jewelery box. It comes in a very nicely packaged storage case with bright, engaging beads. It will help fine motor movements and also hand eye co-ordination.

Bought for a girl's sixth birthday - and told she loves it. I have always found M&D stuff to be great value and well made - and this in no exception.Am going to have to buy another for my daughter as she fell in love with it when she gave it to her pal. They both sat for hours apparently, and made each other little bracelets. Recommended.

My daughter loves these - spends ages threading different combinations of beads, and there are plenty to choose from. Nice box - There is a plastic slide-in lid to keep it all together, lovely hand-crafted quality. Have had several M&D items, and they have all been of excellent quality.

My daughter had been nagging me to buy her a bead set. Having read other sets were too small, I opted for this. It is an ideal first set. She loves it. It helps with her concentration, pattern making, counting and motor skills.

For a six year old girl it was a good way for her to learn how to put the items together herself. She was pleased with the end results and delighted to see us all wearing something she had made herself on Christmas day.

Bought this for my wee girls 3rd birthday. She likes arts and crafts and loves it. The wooden box and perspex lid keep the beeds nice and tidy (once you get them out from under the couch etc). Really good quality.

I bought these beads to make broaches with and they are brilliant,they can also be used to thread as necklaces or bracelets if preferred .They are excellent quality and a good price an excellent buy.

Great quality product that comes in a very usable compartmentalised box. The beads and other pieces are made out of good quality wood and are finished to a high standard. My daughter loves this toy.

This was bought as a xmas present and i was astounded by the amount of beads included and a few strings to get you started , is a perfect gift for beginners and would highly reccomend purchasing

Good quality item, although once my daughter had made one necklace, she got bored! (she normally loves things like this) it comes in a lovely box, so beads can't go missing, good present
