Green Toys are all made from recycled plastic and are eco friendly as the name suggests, which is always a good thing! You do pay a premium for this, as the prices are a little higher than your typical plastic toy but they are all really nicely made and well thought out. This particular Green Toys bath toy is the ferry boat, which has more features than some of the other Green Toys bath toys we have - as it's made up of two separate car toys as well as the main ferry boat. This toy is ideal for bath time or water play outdoors or indoors. One of the great things with the Green Toys is that they're dishwasher safe which makes a big difference in being able to keep them clean, and hence they're going to last a lot longer than your typical bath toy were water can get stagnant in some of the small areas causing a mould build up, which leaves black marks after a while. This does have the ability to be opened up so that you can clean it much more easily. The ferry boat has a ramp which allows the cars to drive on and off the ferry, which children might enjoy if they've done this on holidays as my kids have (we usually travel by ferry). This is a simple traditional toy which just requires imagination for lots of fun play. Since this toy is more detailed compared to some of the other Green Toys, this one is recommended for age 3+ although I would say it's fine from about 18 months or even 1 years. It doesn't have any small parts to it, or anything that looks dangerous to younger ones. This toy will appeal to toddlers and pre-schoolers for as long as they're interested in water play, so although simple it will definitely get plenty of use. Although it's a bath toy, I can see these being really good for outdoor play in the summer too, so the Green Toys are quite versatile like this. It's sturdy and will last well and can take plenty of use and play time without breaking. Overall it does look good, and I like the eco and recycled nature of it. It's a lovely classic water play toy that has a bit more to keep kids busy, compared to the other Green Toys

My 3 year old is a big fan of bath toys, these are in fact exceptionally good compared to what we've had over the last few years. They've quite clearly been designed by thoughtful parents big just from a play value but from a care value. The fact that they are made from phthalates, BPA and lead free recycled plastic is a bonus, as we are ever conscious of her exposure to chemicals as although healthy, she has an autoimmune thyroid condition, though the 'green plastic' is not 100% essential it is a nice touch whether you are watching your child's exposure or not.The plastic is super quality for being recycled, I was surprised as previous recycled goods we've tried have been a big brittle and thin, this is gloriously dense and strong, more than up to the job of withstanding boisterous play! This certainly has the best play value for a preschooler-young child (not baby or young toddler) as it has multiple bits (our cars have been named Silver and Esteé- don't know where she got those from) and the brilliant addition of a retractable ramp to whizz the cars up and down on. Little figures can also be placed on the boat should you want to add extra play value.Unlike another reviewer, my daughter has not had issues with the cars staying put on the ferry finding they can either sit side by side under the seating bit or on the designated grooves without toppling off into the bath. And yes it floats, as long as your child doesn't put their weight on it completely to sink it, it will float happily around the bath. The best bit is you can completely take it apart for drying and it is dishwasher safe meaning you can give it a whirl every so often to stop any nasties growing if you've quickly left it on the side to drain without taking apart. This is brilliant compared to goodness knows how many toys I've had to throw away despite careful draining.Overall, highly recommended for a young child who is out of the mouthing stage as the cars too can be fully dissambled for drying /washing.

Both of my children are bath toy mad and they have never had a bath without some sort of toy in it to play with and I doubt until they are a lot older that bath toys won't be an essential bathtime addition in our home. My children spend ages in the bath and love playing in there with their bath toys and this Ferry Boat has been an immediate hit and especially as it comes with two toy cars so there has been no fighting between them other than who plays with which colour (my son loves red and the moment and my daughter knows this and occasionally tries to do what little sisters do best and winds him up that she wants to play with the red car!).The boat does float providing it is not knocked around and sunk on purpose so that the cars need to evacuate in a rush.I love that the toys are completely made from recycled material and even the box the boat arrives in looks very earth friendly. I must admit I don't automatically check if the plastic in my childrens toys is recycled or not and it wouldn't sway me not to purchase a toy if it wasn't made from recycled material but I do love this extra nice touch to this bath toy. I also love that the toy can be put into the dishwasher and washed as like another reviewer I have lost count of the amount of toys that have ended up in the rubbish bin despite careful emptying and rinsing after use and it will be so much easier to pop the boat and cars in the dishwasher after a few weeks play. A big thumbs, fingers and toes up from my little ones who both love this boat and its even better with a few small plastic people toys added to it for bathtime play.

This is genuinely great. I haven’t seen recycled plastic toys before, but I really, really like this. The feel is soft, and the colours ever so slightly more muted than un-recycled, new plastic typical kids’ toys- really nice. It’s sturdy and very easy to handle for little hands- the cars are the perfect size for my 18-month-old, and the wheels move well. It’s all plastic parts, so there’s no metal to rust. I see no real reason why it should be for 3+ years, the only small parts are the car wheels which are very firmly fixed on, it feels like the manufacturer is erring on the side of caution with that age suggestion. The ramp on one side of the ferry pulls out- younger kids may need help with this- and there are indents on the deck so that the cars don’t roll about. All four parts of the boat can be taken apart for cleaning, but the cars are fixed. In the photo that I’m attaching to this review, I’ve included (or rather my 18-month-old chose to include!) a couple of Duplo items and an Octonauts toy, which obviously aren’t included but might help give you a sense of the size of the thing. A Duplo car just about fits in, and a Melissa and Doug car fits in easily. The packaging is great too- just a single-colour print on brown cardboard, with no wires, no plastic straps, or extraneous waste, and with a nice bit of paintable card that you can then use for arts & crafts stuff to boot! It’s absolutely full marks for this one. Other toy manufacturers could learn a lot from how well this boat is made, and its green credentials.

Having watched the promo video, the first thing I would like to clarify is that there is no separate on-ramp and off-ramp, there is simple one retractable ramp which does both jobs (at the same end). The toy itself is pretty sturdy and floats well, until too much water is taken on board then, at which point it goes the same way all water-logged things! The top (deck and cabin) is removable as a single piece which is handy as the 2 supplied cars (which are not designed to float) can be stored there, even with the ramp retracted, when it’s not being played with. There are grooves in the deck which the cars’ wheel sit in, therefore, they don’t readily roll around (until the inevitable bath tub tsunami roars in),however, if you can source another 2 cars this little ferry can accommodate those too.Only knocked a star off because we have a submarine from the same company and the plastic in that feels more robust and able to take more knocks than this, but if time proves us wrong we’ll add that star back on.

This is a fantastic bath toy, with so much play value - not only in the bath, but it would be ideal for the paddling pool (in warmer weather) and out of the water too. If you prefer to buy toys which are recycled, this is made of completely recycled plastic and came simple packaged in minimal cardboard. You have a cheerful ferry boat, with a pull down ramp and two colourful cars. There are grooves set into the boat, to keep the cars in place on choppy water and this floated really well. My little nephew added a few Playmobil people for extra play ful, but this works perfectly well as it is. He had the most fun out of the bath actually - running the cars up and down the ramp. Really good fun and nicely designed. So often, with bath toys, you have boats which lie too low in the water and tip, but this floated really well. Best of all, you can wash this in the dishwasher, so it should last a lot longer than previous bath toys.

My grandson loves the ferry and cars especially as the bath has a seating area to off load the cars on the ramp. It's not a sealed unit so lets face it - it will sink but my grandson loves emptying it again. The loading of the cars on the ramp would not be possible in the bath without a big enough flat surface close by.The cars sink as it's not a sealed unit but they become submarines under water.Use your imagination as an adult as it is just a plastic ferry but to a toddler it can be more than that.I would buy this again and I intend to purchase the bi plane for Christmas. My grandson is now 5 years and I did buy the plane. He still has them in his bath he plays with both but prefers the ferry as more to play and interact with.Highly recommend

Our son loves his bath toys and couldn't wait to get upstairs with this one. This boat floats well but if you push it down (or overload it) it does take in water and subsequently sink. The ramp that you can pull out (and down) is a nice touch and our son loves sending the included cars down the ramp and into the bath water. If I could change anything I would make it completely water tight as I imagine with it allowing water in will mean it'll get a bit mucky inside (although it does come apart for washing)

As a birthday present for our 4 year-old this has been a real hit. After nearly 3 weeks of baths, this is still the only toy he wants to play with. It is lightweight and well-balanced so it floats well, and it's easy for him to lift even after he's crashed it, submerged it, and filled it up with as much water as it will hold. The only thing that would make this toy better is if the base were a bit wider. We would love for the bottom to fit around the sides of our tub to make loading the cars easier.

Our two year old loves this boat. When not sailing cars across the bath, she's driving them around the rim of the bath. The toy is well-made, sturdy, and will stand the test of time. The cars also are well-made, and all are bright and colourful, with no small detachable parts. We've got a deep bath, so there was no way the loading bridge touches the top of our bath rim...The only downside is perhaps the price. At £20.99 I feel its a tad expensive, but its worth it if the kids enjoy it.

Got this for my nephew who has mild cerebral palsy. He loves playing in the bath as well as anything with wheels, so this seemed like an ideal combination. The vehicles are chunky and well made - perfect for some tough use, and the recycled plastic is colourful. The ferry comes with a cute extending ramp for the cars. The green credentials are welcome, though my nephew isn't too interested in that sort of thing at the moment.Overall, it's a nicely made and well designed toy.

This is a well made and colourful toy. The boat has a detachable ramp for loading and unloading and it comes with the two matching cars - no metal parts so all fine for the bath. The cars are basic, but they go with the set.The boat floats well though is relatively easy to sink - but then it doubles up as a pourer if it does fill up with water. In all a lovely simple toy that is great for the bath. The whole range is really good and have no hesitations recommending them.

My 3 year old grandson plays non stop with this every night in the bath. It is pretty plain and simple but that doesnt matter to a boy that enjoys the floating car holder with pull out ramps on both sides. It is nice a smooth so no snags. He plays in the bedroom with it before taking it into the bath. He even likes to play with it and thacars along side his garage in the living room.Lovely colours, lovely quality, nice size and great fun in or out of the bath. Perfect.

I bought my youngest this boat and im so glad i did! Over the past year its been played with nearly everyday and i couldn't be more impressed with the quailty of this product. My son normally breaks toys easily and this isn't going to happen with this toy, Its real hard plastic and was happy when i saw how great of a product this is. Worth every penny, if you got young children around the age of 1and half up this is for you. Couldn't reccomend a product more!

Bought this for my 3 year old granddaughter and she loved it from first sight. The cars are different colours to the boat, and the fact that the boat parts are detachable and washable means that the toy can be kept clean over time. We especially wanted a toy that was environmentally friendly too, so the fact that it's made from recycled plastic is a definite plus. The construction seems pretty robust (only time will tell), so overall this is an excellent toy.
