The genuine Epson inks are expensive although they do perform reasonably well (the only real gripe is that photos tend to be pretty dark, although that could also be the printer/set-up). I wouldn't ever buy compatibles again as they were considerably poorer (colour quality, lines across photos, etc) and I didn't go for the cheapest by a long way. I also looked into refilling my empty genuine cartridges but the cost wasn't very much less than buying new from Amazon (and I shopped around quite a bit to try to find the cheapest for new, compatible and refills). One refill company I called (a major UK outlet)I asked about relative performance of refills versus new and was told that if I wanted photo quality to forget about refills (I don't print too many photos given the low cost of Snapfish and the like, but always handy to run off a few at short notice or for the family's scrapbooks, homework, etc). Buying the new 6-packs does seem to work out cheaper in the long run, although depending on what's being printed, of course they all run out at different times, so you may need to order the odd single cartridge. These are very simple to replace in the printer when they do run out.

Very happy with this excellent product. Far better that spurious cartridges which clogged my printer and cost me time and effort, paper and replacement inks. At times I even had to take printer to Epson to be professionally cleaned, all adding to my stress and frustration and anger. No matter what the manufacturers of other makes state, I have tried a few but they all the same - eventually they clogged my printer, job stops yet again.I print a lot of photographic images and Epson inks are brilliant, excellent colours etc. However it is time they looked at their costings, they are far too expensive. It is getting to the stage where I cant afford them so my next choice of printer will be based on running costs as well as on performance. It is more than likely that I will be purchasing from one of Epson's competitors. If everyone did this Epson would have to re evaluate their inks.Angry and frustrated Karen from Leeds

Why the five stars? FOUR for the quality of the ink. ONE for the price offered by Amazon. TOP savings indeed. BUY IT HERE TODAY!!!!Of course, it's a well-documented fact that Epson is expensive when it comes to ink replacement, and, yes, I was contemplating getting one of those cheapo chuck-away printers. Then again, I looked at my trusty old EpsonR200 and thought differently. The old adage 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' sprang to mind so I've kept my R200 and bought a fresh six-pack of Seahorse inks.I cannot fault the quality or longevity of Epson inks and this pack will keep me happy for another year at least. I mainly print letters and CD labels/covers so I am NOT a 'heavy'user but no matter how many weeks I am away from the printer, the moment I fire it up the ink is still crystal clear. And don't forget, for the non-important but 'must have a printout' job, there is always the draft mode!

Although the original inks are expensive in comparison to compatibles, at least they work. The compatibles have a tendency to clog the printer and cause endless problems. The originals lasted a reasonable amount of time considering I was printing A4 photos on best quality. These photos were for photographic competitions and I have had compliments on the quality of the printing and hence why I buy the original cartidges. If quality of print is important to you, then I would highly recommend using the original Epson print cartidges. If it is just for fun home printing, then cheaper brands would probably suffice if you are willing to take a chance that they may destroy your printer (I know thisfrom previous experience).

I've always got my original ink for Epson R300 from Amazon, and been very happy with it. However, recently I needed it urgently so had to purchase from a local store instead. I discovered there were two types available (both multipack), but different front covers i.e 6 small sea horses instead of One Big one in yellow (as with amazon's). The more expensive one at £45 said it was fade resistant, no smudge and not water proof. Can someone please confirm if the Amazon one (T0481) is fade resistant. I can't find it on the technical spec. At the moment I can't spot the difference between the two and I do a lot of photo printing on Epson R300.Thanks.

I would recommend these ink cartidges excellent value for original Epson Ink Catridges for my Printer...I have used compatibles before and also filling your own cartridges...ruined my first printer...would only use originals. At these prices much cheaper than PC World where they were priced at £63. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R340 printer...prints are of excellent quality and dry instantly and I feel this is mainly due to good quality ink cartridges and of course use good quality photo paper and you cannot fail. I always search for the best price for originals and at the time of order this company provided them.

The advert shows the EPSOM packaging and has the headline " Epsom multipack 6-colours T0487" when these are actually only Epsom "compatible" inks. My father ordered them for me thinking they were the correct inks as it all looked like the real thing and I didn't know they were the compatible version until they arrived and it had it on the invoice .....the first I knew about it .It's ok to sell compatible inks and they may even be as good as the branded version, I don't know about the quality as I haven't tried them .......but the advert shouldn't look like and EPSOM advert when it's not.

Epson ink is very good - of that there is no doubt - and these packs are much better value than the individual cartridges, but one has to say they are still pricey for the volume of ink they actually contain.I have tried other replacement cartridges from different manufacturers and the truth of the matter is that they look fine initially, but the colours simply don't stand the test of time - especially if direct sunlight falls upon the print for a while. In photographs this just simply defeats the object of making a print.Buy with confidence... and a deep pocket...

I was advised to only buy Epson inks for the multifunction printer I owned, and I was told that clone inks didn't have the quality or the freedom from fade that the epson inks promise. My only gripe with them is the way that the price keeps escalating, and has anyone noticed that they seem to last shorter and shorter times before requiring a replacement. The last lot that I purchased came from a third party source through Amazon who simply placed 6 individual cartridges in a Jiffy bag and set that rather than the multipack.

I have been seduced by the low-prices of generic and re-charged ink-jet cartridges and have found them to be poor in performance: soon drying out and in the end being a false economy. Although the price of the manufacturer's cartridges always seems exorbitant, in relation to the cost of the machine, there is no doubt they are better and give excellent printing results. I use these particular cartridges in an Epson Stylus Photo RX620 machine and have to say I get perfect colour copies when using Epson cartridges.

The inks are the best, though very expensive. One supplier (not Amazon itself) sent separate cartridges instead of the 6-pack, and got a shelling from me as I insist on accurate description of product, which should also match the picture. Sellers should not rely on a refunds policy if they can't be honest with buyers. However in that one case the inks were actually quite okay - well, 100% okay, after all. But I'm now ordering direct from Amazon, paying £5 more for peace of mind. Fingers crossed!

Have always used genuine Epson cartridges having been warned about compatibles. The inks produce great results on photos and plain paper and I wish the cartridges would last longer, but that is a universal problem. A bit pricey for sure, and I'm sure more people would use Epson printers - which produce good prints - if only the ink was less expensive. Had considered changing printers to a brand with the letter 'K' but being happy with the Epson have remained loyal.

These are normally excellent inks, however it may be months, even years before I load this order into my printer. I ordered early because this Epson line is going out of style! They have a good shelf life, so no worries. I'm puzzled why seller described item as "in foil" - there was no foil involved - truthful descriptions are always appreciated and preferred. There were six separate seal-wrapped cartridges loosely packed in a bubble envelope.

Have purchased this refill set of inks many times before from various sellers. I simply look for who is cheapest at the time. I often print photo greetings cards so need reliable quality. As I am well satisfied with Epson quality I would never even consider purchasing a replica product. I can't give five stars for the reason I just wish the inks lasted longer or were cheaper. It's almost cheaper to buy a new printer rather than a pack of inks.

I suppose it is my fault for spending hundreds of pounds on ink for my photo R300 but it has been reliable apart from the one time when I bought a 'compatible' black cartridge from my local computer repair shop, which proceeded to leak, block the print head and lead to messages I have never seen before from the printer.Serves me right no doubt, but the cartridges from Epson are not recyclable and why do they have to be so expensive?
