All of the major printer manufacturers use it as a significant profit stream. In many respects, they're chemical companies as much as technology companies. Epson are no different to Canon, HP, Panasonic, Lexmark, Dell or any of the others. They charge crazy amounts of money for tiny quantities of ink that is heavily over-packaged. But, this ink is good. It doesn't smudge or run like some cheaper ink does. I genuinely hate paying for it and wish that somebody would come onto the market and shake up the industry. But, until that happens,

Ink cartridges will always be expensive but I've saved by buying here and they came the next day without even asking for quick delivery. They are good quality and easy to install. However, I am struggling to find a way to 'turn off' the use of Photo Black when not printing photos. If you've not yet bought the printer and are doing research into supplies, it's something to bare in mind, as it is frustrating that it will not print at all when the Photo Black cartridge is low. It does seem to sometimes use the Photo Black when not printing photos but that might be to do with computer settings though...

I have been buying all my Epson ink from Amazon for a few years now. On one occassion the item was marked as delivered however i didn't receive the item. Customer support were extremely helpful and after an investigation I was refunded.Amazon seems to be the cheapest place to buy this ink and delivery is always swift. The ink itself is perfect, official Epson is the only ink i'll buy now, I've heard of printers not accepting 3rd party ink after firmware updates. Buying official also ensures quality and peace of mind over the product, i'd recommend buying the XL capacity for best value.

Obviously didn’t like the substantially higher price for the OEM Epson 26 Photo Black Cartridge. But then you always know the Epson Original Cartridges will perform without problems.But now, I’m just becoming aware how much lower in price the non OEM replacement Cartridges are on Amazon & I’ve just ordered no less than FOUR 26XL Black Cartridges for just over £5! I was told by one of the Amazon representatives that the quality of the ink contained in these non OEM Cartridges is just as good as the Epson Original!Let’s hope he is right!?!?!?

I have an Epson XP620 which I use mainly for printing documents, a few photos and greetings cards. I find Epson Polar Bear inks to be very good and true to colour. I started with the standard size cartridge but have started buying XL, better value for money because they last so much longer. I do however agree with every owner of a printer that the prices of ink cartridges are ridiculous. Tempting as the price of compatible inks are, I will stick with the expensive Epson original for now, maybe when my printer is older I will give them a try.

What can one say about Ink Cartridges these days? It is compatible with my Printer. It was straight forward to install. The cost is reasonable for an Ink Cartridge. It would obviously be cheaper to have a subscription for Ink with Epson. However, one would have to print sufficiently often for that to be appropriate. I do not. Therefore, I buy the occasional solitary replacement cartridge. Generally, I find that even with occasional printing they do not last very long but such is the nature of printer technology it would seem.

Original cartridges are reasonably priced as far as I'm concerned. My experience of non-branded products is that they often give poor quality printing results and often give less pages than expected. Some don't even work at all and are a complete waste of money as far as I'm concerned! I'd prefer to pay a little extra and get something that I know will give good results than to waste my money.

Bought this printer because of the photo black cartridge. Can't believe the difference this has made to my black and white photos. Won numerous competitions. Very impressed. If you just want a printer for printing text then a cheaper one would have sufficed with the normal 3 or ink cartridges. If you want brilliant, vibrant stand out pictures then I would recommend this printer.

Obviously proven to be good and long lasting, compared to my usual CIS inks but then I am reserving these inks for photographs only. Couldn't conceive to use Epson inks for the quantity of posters, programmes and news letters that I used to print. These are good but just very expensive. I would prefer to pay a bit more for the printer and less for their ink.

Great price. Genuine item. Prompt delivery. Can't speak highly of Company enough. For me, not sure I can tell much difference between 26XL version to standard ink, so if you are just printing standard documents in black and white regularly, wouldn't recommend it. More relevant if you are regularly printing high quality photos. Thanks.

Great ink at a brilliant price. What can I really say about this ink appart from it's the original ink and does what it says one the box. Only needed this black as I had spare for the other inks. This is the main one that goes doing black and white pages. Well worth the money and cheaper than anywhere else what more could you want.

I can't fault the quality of the prints produced - always bright, always sharp.For some reason Epson don't include the photo black cartridge which would complete the set for my Expression XP-520.The price of the pack seems to fluctuate quite a bit - so make sure you look around before buying.

Always use Epson ink cartridges for my Epson printer and have never been disappointed with the results of my photographs. Always been advised to use original Epson products for good results instead of compatible, so therefore cannot comment on the quality of the compatible cartridges.

What can I say? Manufacturers OE so they should be good and work correctly. But why so expensive? Epson chips make it so that you are limited to their products. I have bought aftermarket cartridges but do not get through Epson security.I wasted so much time on them I gave up!

These are original and totally different printing quality! The black ink is so much more blacker than the fake ones I've bought on Amazon in the past but they are expensive and with my kids printing out stuff like crazy I think I'll stick to the fake ones next time!!
