* About the smell:It really doesn't smell much like roses. My first thought was that this smells like a cross between an artificial sweet candy and washing up liquid (like Fairy liquid soap). After use, it hardly leaves a scent behind; the only smell it leaves is a faint, almost imperceptible soapy smell with a slightly off-putting glycerin-y smell.. and it may be just me but I also detect a hint of a whiff of vomit smell when I sniff my skin after using this :/. It's not the best smell in the world for me personally. I won't be ordering this scent again in the future.* About the consistency:The texture is quite runny / watery / liquidy, but a little goes a long way.Even if you put a small drop on your hand it lathers really nicely.* About the bottle top:Be sure yours comes sealed to ensure no tampering. The bottle top is a simple white plastic screw on top, with a pouring hole. A pump head would have been an improvement and would have been more user friendly for hand wash / body wash usage.* About the ingredients:This is the main reason I bought this soap: really health-conscious ingredients - no nasties in there. The only potential nasty, Potassium hydroxide, is only used for saponification and is entirely used up in the processing so that there is none of that chemical left in the end-product. Very happy with the ingredient list.* How it makes my skin feel: Washing my hands with it, it makes my skin feel waxy clean and a little dry-feeling at first, but that feeling dissipates within about 5 minutes and you're left with nice-feeling skin.* About using it:A little goes a long way:- Handwash: You can either use this as-is, using a small drop per wash, or you can decant this into a bottle, 1 part soap to 1 to 4 parts water (as desired).- Body wash: Again, you only need a small amount. If you use this in the shower, you'd only need small sploosh of the soap. For getting a good lather I found it best to use it neat in my hands rather than on a washcloth / shower-puff / loofah / sponge. If you want, you can decant a small amount of this soap into a bottle and a bit of argan oil and / or jojoba oil to it to make it a little more nourishing and moisturizing to the skin.- Dish soap: A little expensive for a dish soap, but if you don't like the smell on your body, you can use this to wash your dishes by hand. It's got healthier ingredients in it than your conventional mainstream dish soaps.- Shampoo: If you use this as shampoo it can leave a tangly feel. The official website recommends to pair it with an acidic conditioning rinse to avoid this.- Shaving lubricant: I read on a website to dilute one part soap with two parts water to use as a shaving lubricant.

Actually beautifully made and incredibly versatlie. All organic and earth friendly ingredients. It does what it says very spiritual liquid soap with essential oils. I love the rose smell and its spritually uplifting and when your tired you can pour into your tub, use as a face wash or shampoo, it's so versatileI have extremely sensitive dry skin and can't use 99% of most soaps or face cleansers. This can be applied directly onto the face and its cleanses without drying and your skin feels soft and radiant. It smells so nice and I can only describe it as divine creation. It has numerous uses, I wash my body, use as a face wash, wash my clothes and use as a washing up liquid, the company that created this actually had a great deal of spritual insight into the future and from someone who is deeply spriitual and religous it actually does what it states and beyond. It's the best thing out there in the market. I use a mix of rose lavender and orange citrus in my bath and it is concentrate enough to lather a sponge. It's complements the Lords command that we have to bath and cleanse our bodies, then perform our prayers and union with the one. My daughter likes the sensitive baby version. But my favourite is the organic rose.

I've never used Dr Bronner before so it took me a while to get used to. At first I thought it felt like it made my hands feel extremely dry and that I wanted to moisturise them (and I hate hand cream!). I stuck with it and I think actually, it's not that it feels dry but feels extremely clean! My job involves my fingers being scratched hundreds of times a day so they cut and get sore. Since using this, I found my fingers heal much faster and that they feel very smooth. With this soap, I feel like I can wash my hands as much as I want and I don't have to worry about them feeling sore from over washing that other hand soaps give me. I'm not a huge fan of this scent if I'm honest,so I wish I bought the small sizes of every scent first before opting for the larger size. It's not an offensive smell by any means, I'm just more of a fresh scent lover than floral i think!

Very, very expensive.Yes indeed. And the religious rambling all over the bottle is condescending and unnecessary, and (possibly) unintentionally amusing in places. Now, with that nonsense out of the way;I'm using this with the Salux Japanese Wash cloth (highly recommended) - and this froths up a lather that is truly exquisite. The combination means I literally use a only dash of this product and I expect this to last for a number of months. The scent is mild and rather pleasant - I can actually have scent induced migraines on occasion, and I'm safe with this, if that gives you an idea. This stuff (combined with the Salux) leaves skin feeling clean and soft, without any feeling of harshness.I'm also using this to clean my make-up brushes and it does a lovely job.Very happy so far.

I looked at reviews on this & nearly didn't buy. Glad I did, rose is my favourite fragrance but I can understand complaints about smell, when smelt from bottle in concentrated form, however using a small amount to lather it has a lovely Rose fragrance.I discovered Castile soap a few months ago, after I had used a moisturiser on my legs I came out in a terrible reaction my skin was burning & itchy. My husband had some Castile lavender soap & suggested that I wash my legs in that with it being so gentle, it really helped I was impressed after trying other things that didn't help. I am not saying it's going to be the same for everyone but it suits me & will use from now on.My skin feels soft after using it.

Trying to eliminate chemicals on sensitive skin I first tried the mint version as a face wash and decided to try some as a shower wash alternative and I've never looked back.Took a couple of days to get used to the different lather and "squeaky" feel afterwards, but now using generic shower products make me feel slimy. One this size lasts about 6 months in the shower so also great value for money.Says you can wash anything with it but I'd probably recommend not washing longer fair as it is soap and you know how that goes!

The smell when you first use this soap is amazing. I love rose scented products and Dr bronners knocked it out of the park. I love that such a little amount goes a long way. I have sensitive combination skin and it just strips that oil away leaving a smooth clean face. All natural ingredients and its cool how many different uses this stuff has! I will be bringing it on an upcoming vacation as my all in one body face and hair. A friend recommended castile soap and I am so glad I discovered this.

This product is from America and has been produced by the Bronner family for over 50 years. It is totally pure and organic and totally fair trade sourced. It was reviewed by India Knight in the Sunday Times Style Magazine on approx.15th June 2014. Like her I was sick of the horrible smells and drying effect of supermarket liquid soaps, so I decided to try it. It is fantastic. Lovely delicate smell, lathers up beautifully, and my skin is no longer as dry. Thank you thank you Dr Bronner.

We have been using Dr Bronners for years as hand and body soap. It has been gentle enough for my little one, without aggravating eczema, and I really feel the difference when I use other handsoaps, especially in winter. One bottle lasts a long time because we dilute it in a foaming pump dispenser, which makes it excellent value as well. The rose scent is not at all overpowering, and I now travel with a small amount in a pump bottle, which I then dilute at my destination.

This castille soap smells absolutely divine. This has lasted me throughout the whole year and I’ve still got more than half left. It lathers up very well , all you need is like a tiny drop and it lathers up a lot. I love how it’s multipurpose aswell so I can use it on my hair, face, body and also a detergent. I’ve noticed many of my dark marks have started to fade and also how my hair has less dandruff and has become more shiny. I’ll definitely be trying more of these!!

Love the fact that you only need a few tiny drops to wash your hands, so this will help in my quest to reduced the plastic inmy home! The fragrance, on firstwhiff, is lovely and natural, but there is a faint, underlying smell which is quite unpleasant. I hope nobody is eating whilst reading this review, but it almost reminds me of vomit :-( But, aroma aside, I like it enough to try another of the scents and hopefully that one will be less sicky.

I love this soap. It CLEANS your hair, stripping away any residues. A little goes a long way too and it's great as an all over body wash. So if you're off on your hols you could just take this little bottle instead of shower gel, soap and shampoo! The only reason I've not given 5 stars is that I'm not keen on this fragrance, I usually get the almond which I love (smells like marzipan or maraschino) but just wanted to try this one.

2.5.2017

I was quite hesitant about this but I'm now glad that I tried it. I have stopped using previous soaps (lush, body shop, faith in nature etc) and this is the only soap I use. It smells wonderful and is not overpowering. It's kind and gentle on the skin (I have sensitive skin). I only use a small amount and it lathers really well. It will probably last a good 6-9 months which is worth it, in my opinion.
