I am an amazon vine reviewer. I am reviewing the ManCave Lemon & Oak Shower Gel.It is supplied in a generous 500 ml plastic bottle. – which is about double the usual size that I am used to. The bottle says “Recycle Me” – this applies to both the PET bottle (recycle code 1) and the Polypropylene cap (recycle code 5).I decided to read all of the labels first before I tried it out in the shower. The eco commitment of the ManCave brand is excellent. The 4 logos on the sidebar of the bottle indicate the commitment of ManCave to naturally derived original formulas. It is a combination of nature and science – formulated in UK Labs and is made from “UK Water”.It is also Vegan and Cruelty Free. Many ingredients are listed on the bottle such as lemon oil,L-Arginine, Bergamot, Vetiver and Sandalwood. Other ingredients that caught my eye are Aloe Vera, Bitter Orange and Rosemary. Now onto the shower gel testing part. The flip lid has a tamper proof perforated plastic seal. I slid my fingernail along these perforations which easily removed the seal. A small pair of scissors would do the trick too.The see-through bottle shows the straw yellow gel. In the shower, I squeezed a little gel onto my hand – it felt nice and thick. It smells very nice – the lemon essence is very pleasant and easy to detect. I could smell other aromas too. I could not say definitely whether this was oak – as I am not used to smelling oak! Either way, the overall essences were very pleasant.I found that a little gel went a long way. It spread easily and adhered well onto my hand scrub mat for a good length of time and It lathered really well. The Man Cave directions say that you can apply it to wet skin. So, I assume that this would include by hand, scrub mat, sponge etc.I really enjoyed my shower. The Man Cave Lemon and Oak Shower Gel was a delight to use, and post shower, smelt very niceI usually shower once or twice a day. I play tennis three times a week. I can cover about 17,000 steps during each of these sessions. One of these sessions also involves a 20-mile cycling round trip too. So, yes, a shower is a welcome experience at the end of any of these activities too!I have thoroughly enjoyed the first few days of using the shower gel.The gel is also “Proudly Made in the UK” – which pleases me when so much stuff comes from abroad. In conclusion, as the above review indicates, I am really enjoying the Man Cave Lemon and Oak Shower Gel. I think it positively differentiates itself from the competition and would recommend that you try it. It is worthy of my 5-star rating!

I started looking for new Shower Gel after growing frustrated with Lynx and L'oreal which were drying out my skin but also losing their scent in their bottle ridiculously quickly. I read about the chemicals used in most shower gels and went looking for something kinder on the skin but with an actual scent that lasted. ManCave met those requirements using natural ingredients and kind on animals and the environment. The scent is subtle but fresh with a mostly wood scent and a touch of citrus with the lemon oil. Consistency is much thicker than the a fore mentioned gels I used previously which means it does lather up nicely. Does not dry my skin and usually get a compliment for my wife about smelling nice.I shower in the morning before 9am and I can usually still smell on my skin up to around 2pm. I think for a natural product this is quite acceptable. The issue I have with this product and there are more pro's than con's but I got this for £5 a few times and it is now up at £8 in line with the Cedarwood shower gel. The product is good but I would be hiding from the truth if I did not write that I still think at £8 it is overpriced. It is a great UK made ethical product but why should that mean it is expensive? That is my battle! Product is 5 stars but the price keeps on biting at me.

I have to admit that this is the first time I have used any product from Man Cave, and I have to say that I do like this shower gel very much. There are no parabens or sulphates, mineral oils, synthetic dyes or even petrolatum, which may make you think that this will not lather up well or moisturise, but actually it does. With ingredients including lemon oil, L- Arginine, bergamot, vetiver and sandalwood you are given a crisp scent, with citrus showing through, and a woody undertone. This fortunately is a scent that does not overpower, and although you can smell it on the skin for a few hours after a shower this should not detract from any fragrance that you use. Indeed,I am currently wearing a classic fragrance that this gel actually compliments, meaning that I smell fresh and clean throughout the day.As I had currently been using an el-cheapo own brand supermarket gel I immediately noticed the difference with this, as this is less harsh, and makes my skin look and feel better. With 500ml here this should last a little while, and yes – the bottle which is plastic, is recyclable and you should have no trouble with putting it in your domestic recycling waste for the council to take away.

My boyfriend and I have been using this. Due to being more of a natural product it doesn't have any sodium lauryl sulphate so doesn't produce much of a lather. However it still spreads around nicely and does not dry your skin out. I do often have a problem with slight psoriasis if I use the wrong products but haven't had any issues with this. The container is easy enough to use as a flip top lid which doesn't get stuck when you use it (might sound trivial but this really puts me off when using products in the bath/shower as I've cut myself on the lids before when they're too tight to open easily). My boyfriend said it smells quite nice but could smell better and stronger, more zesty like a fresh lemon.Though he did say the scent is quite natural. I personally think it's really nice and the reason why it's not as strong is because it doesn't use lots of artificial perfumed ingredients like many of the bigger commercial brands in the supermarkets. My boyfriend said he would possibly buy it for himself but would prefer a different scent. I would happily continue using it in this scent.

The pack I received for review was the 500 ml, which pro rata is better value than the 200 ml.This is one of the best shower gels I have ever tried. You need a minimal amount for a good lather, and the fragrance is excellent. The lemon is the most noticeable component, but I thought It I could also detect a hint of peppermint. My wife, who has a better sense of smell, disagreed on this, but she too was very impressed with the smell. Her verdict was “fresh and summery, with a pleasant after-smell on the skin; although tending towards a masculine fragrance, could be used by women as well”.The bottle has a screw-top with a flip-top built in; both are secure, unlike some shower gel containers. The ingredients are natural,vegan-friendly, etc.Don’t be put off by the OTT copy “Precede your thought process with an aromatherapeutic showering experience … Before the commute to your panoramic office or while showering at your mountain chalet, refocus your objectives …”. It’s only a shower gel, but it’s a very good one. It would be quite adequate as a stocking-filler present.

I already use the 200ml I buy it all the time and ever since Man Cave came into this country. I love it and it's my favourite shower gel so why have I hot given 5 stars? Well I do love having a bigger bottle which is fantastic to put alongside the bath, it looks great, I love the design and it's not too big to be able to just pop the cap and pour into your hand. My only grip is the cost. Sure, you can get 2 1/2 bottles in just one easy to pour bottle but then again, it's currently over 3 times the price.I will probably will end up still paying more and purchasing this over the 200ml because it is handy to use, but I have also purchased Bulldog's 500ml versions when they are on offer but with these, they start around £5 and drop to £3 when on offer and they are about the same quality. The smell is pleasant and you can really smell the lemon in there and even better it foams up better than the Cedarwood. It feels great when applying and the subtle smell lasts all day which is another reason why I love the Man Cave products.

I have reviewed several man cave products and I have to say I do like these for a number of reasons. 1. Not tested on animals, a number of products are likewise and are cheaper so that's not necessarily reason to buy. 2. Vegan friendly in another words, no animal products. That is not just a bonus for vegan/vegetarians but also for anyone who for cultural reasons does not want to use a product with animal product content, for me this is a reason to pay a little extra I tend to buy lush soaps or faith in nature but there is little going there in regards to men's products. 3. And this is again a more personal reason, most man cave products have a nice wood type smell to them similar to some Yves Rocher men's after shaves I have not found similar in the UK the ones they sell here are not the same so this is a big reason for me to buy.Its not too big so for the price I am going to reduce it by one star, certainly although its described as lemon and oak the oak or wood smell is the main one that comes across.

My husband really likes this Lemon and Oak Shower Gel, it feels good and smells absolutely great. ManCave use a whole heap of nourishing ingredients in this body wash including …** Aloe Vera** L-arginine** Lemon Oil** Bergamot** Rosemary** Votive** CardamomThis body wash comes in a large 500ml transparent plastic bottle with an opaque flip up lid which works cleanly and releases just the right amount through a small hole. This body wash is a thick clear and very fragrant gel, it cleans well and leaves your skin nicely moisturised and strongly fragranced. It is recommended that you rub the body wash gently into damp skin and rinse off with warm water. The nice thing about this product is that although it is fairly expensive a little goes a long way and my husband reports that it was very refreshing to use and a good way to wake up his senses in the morning.

This is a masculine-smelling shower gel. It is described as "lemon & oak" but I would say that it smells much more strongly of oak than lemon. In fact, the lemon is only slightly detectable. Having said that, it's a pleasant fragrance.I gave this product a good rating because it has NOT been tested on animals. That is important to me.In addition, the product is free from parabens and is free from petrochemicals, so if you are the kind of person (like me) who wants to avoid questionable additives, then this product may be good for you. Finally, I thought that the price of this shower gel was extremely reasonable given that it is a product that is free from parabens and petrochemicals. In my experience, grooming products that are free from such additives tend to be sold at a much higher price point. So this ManCave product is good value in my estimation.

Described as lemon and oak this is a very pleasantly scented shower gel when smelled from the tube. Once activated with water the woody smell becomes more prominent. It is a particularly pleasant scent in use and that attractive woody aroma remains after showering. The gel is virtually clear with a slight yellow tint. It is of a reasonable thickness so that it doesn't come gushing out when the tube is inverted. A gentle squeeze is all that is needed to release it from the tube. I live in a very hard water area so there aren’t copious amounts of lather, which I prefer, but it still lathers nicely and moves freely over the skin. The gel washes off cleanly and leaves the skin feeling very comfortable. This is a very nice shower gel to use and leaves a smell I enjoy to wear, that is both slightly resinous and citrus.

I've tried a few different SLS free shower gels to try and avoid drying out my skin and this is one of my favourites. I'm not a big fan of strong perfume smells and often buy unscented products. The scent of this product though is a very natural smell of lemon juice, not overpowering but very fresh. I haven't had any problems with dry skin either and that's during a winter spent mostly indoors with the heating on so it certainly does everything I need it to.If you're a fan of strong perfumed products this probably isn't for you but if you like a good shower gel with a subtle, natural scent (and you like lemons!)then this is a fantastic product.A little expensive but that seems to come with the territory when you want something made without SLS and chemical odours and for me that's worth the extra.

Given the high price, around 2 to 3 times a typical shower gel, the 500ml packaging looks positively drab and unappealing.I uncapped it to have a sniff, and was seriously underwhelmed by the scent.BUT when you actually use it, the smell becomes stronger and quite pleasant. As a shower gel it's perfectly fine.A lot of claims are made about the ingredients, a literal witch's brew of herbs and chemicals which would probably work quite well as a poultry rub, if it wasn't for the detergent.More concrete is the claim that this is both "vegan" (should you inadvertently ingest any, I guess) and certified cruelty free. It's a nice enough shower gel,but I don't feel like it's worth the premium price being asked for it.

Love the recyclable bottle, the bigger size is great, easy to stand upside down which helps get the last of the contents of the shower gel. The smell is great, loved this product when it was 200ml option, better now that it has 500ml.Only drawback and totally unrelated to the item is the packaging, a note for amazon distribution, if you pack a recyclable bottle in a nice recyclable cardboard package, please don’t then add un recyclable plastic wrapping which is totally unnecessary and poor for the environment. Change this Asap please. Do your bit.Overall a great item, hence 5 stars. Unlike most other people I rate the product, not the packaging, that has nothing to do with the item or the way it performs.??

Mancave have repackaged their shower gels into bigger bottles. This makes them better value and also means less plastic is used, so is good for the environment. The shower gel is the same great product as it was before - this is a great fragrance - the freshness of lemon mixes so well with the oak scent. It also lathers up nicely in the shower and leaves you feeling clean and refreshed. I also like the new clear packaging, which gives the products a nice fresh look and makes a nice change from the usual brown packaging. It also helps you to see how much of the product you have left! I'm a big fan of the Mancave range, especially the natural and vegan ingredients and this is another top quality product.

I'm generally impressed with Man Cave products and this shower gel did not disappoint. They seem like an ethical company who use good quality ingredients, and I don't say that often about pharma companies. You get a nice big bottle 500 ml. It's simply presented in a plastic container with a flip top lid. It is described as 'Lemon and oak'. The scent is very pleasant. A woody citrusy scent. I'm also pleased to say the ingredients are good, to my mind. No SLSs, a gentle foaming agent and some genuine essential oils such as lemon, artemisia, rosemary and vetiver. This is a quality toiletry at a reasonable price. Recommended, and also would like a nice gift.
