Bought my iMac March 2013 from Apple Store and configured all extras apart from additional memory because the store price from Apple was extortionate and I had researched on YouTube how easy it is to replace the memory in the iMac 27" model (unlike the 21.5" model). I ordered 2 kits totalling 32GB (4x8GB) because the iMac 27" has 4 memory slots. They arrived promptly and were well packed in sturdy plastic cartons so the modules were well protected and a little tricky to get out but if you pop them out from behind you won't damage them - just make sure you discharge any static and always hold the modules on the edge.I suggest leaving the modules in their packaging until you have removed the memory module cover on the back of the iMac.To install the memory modules you need to lay your iMac screen down on a flat surface (use a soft cloth to protect from scratches - an empty pillow case works just fine). Remove the power cord to get access to the little push button to release the memory module cover. I used the flat end of a screwdriver to push this in hard in order to pop off the cover. Once opened there are two catches holding the existing memory in place (in my case 2x4GB). Pull these catches towards you to release the grip on the modules. Carefully pull out the modules one at a time. Remove all modules before installing any new ones. Now install the new memory modules using the reverse technique. There is a little notch along the edge with the pins so it's impossible to install them the right way around. If you buy more than 1 pack I would recommend you install each pack together i.e. don't mix them in the slots. When installing my modules I found they were a really tight fit and I had to force them in. This could be down to the positioning of the notch above. It seemed easier when installing the modules in the slots from which I took out the old memory. Perhaps the engineer at Apple had the same problem and once forced in initially they become easier to install. I did try to pull them out again but they seemed to be stuck fast...so didn't try again on the basis I've maxed out the memory so don't intend to remove.Push the leaver forward once all modules are installed - it won't click into place if you have not properly installed the memory per the above. Clip the memory cover back in place and power on your iMac. My beeped repeatedly first time suggesting the modules were not fully clipped in. I opened back up and push each modules firmly back in their slots, replaced the cover and booted up again - BINGO all 32GB recognised and has been running sweet every since with no reported system issues and boy coupled with the Fusion drive I spec'd this machine now flies.I looked at several different supplier included non-Apple certified modules from Crucial but decided that if I am going to spend £150+ on memory for an iMac that cost significantly more then it's worth paying the extra to have the reassurance that Apple engineers have certified these memory modules for iMac. It was a toss up between Corsair and Crucial but on the whole I felt that more customers provided positive review comments for Crucial (not just the star rating) and besides when I upgrade my MacBook Pro memory recently I purchased Crucial and have not had any issues with them for over 18 months now.As others have stated on reviews before if you already have 16GB then the performance uplift from 16 to 32 will not be as noticeable as the jump from 8 to 32 obviously but improving your iMac memory by 50% has to be a wise investment given that memory is one of the most cost effective and only ways of upgrading an iMac 27".For gamers out there the main reason I pushed memory up to 32GB was to run some of the triple A games at high frame rates. I spec'd the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB and this machine now runs Gotham City, COD Black Ops etc flawlessly. Running video editing and ripping software along with multiple other office applications concurrently now is a breeze with no noticeable slow down - and I multi-task heavily with workflow on my iMac.

I wanted to upgrade the Ram on my 27" iMac as it's performance was beginning to deteriorate a little. Initially I had attempted to save money by buying cheaper brands of RAM modules but this proved unsuccessful. The first pair of modules that I bought, from a high street retailer, were not the right spec's even though I had been assured that they were (I'd not taken my glasses with me so was reliant upon the salespersons advice), so these needed to be returned. The second pair that I had purchased were remarkably cheap and would have been great if they had worked but one of the two modules was faulty so these were also returned.Eventually I saw sense and ordered this pair of Crucial RAM modules (which exactly match the pair that I had already installed).Delivery was very quick, the modules were well packed and there was no problem with installation (the cheap modules had been a very tight fit into the RAM slots). I ran various tests on the modules once they were installed, including the Apple Hardware test and Memtest and they passed with flying colours. Going by the previous pair of Crucial modules that I installed just over 3 years ago I do not anticipate any problems arising. I can also rest easy in the knowledge that Crucial offer a lifetime warranty on their memory modules - unlike some manufacturers. So, whilst I'm sure that many people will have had success with buying and installing other brands of memory modules into their computers, from now on I will only be using Crucial. This is based on the fact that (touch wood), I have not experienced any problems with their products to date and, when it comes to price, they might not be the cheapest on the market but with modern technology you do appear to get exactly what you pay for.

The first thing which I would love to write is it's truly good investment than buying low spec windows machine. THE MOST IMPORTANT, it certainly works with windows. Being, a computer engineer myself and now again graduate student at UCD. Please don't be sceptical that it won't work with windows. As per computer Architecture, it makes no sense why it won't work?First thing first, if you have made your mind to buy it. You should not call for Technical support and stay in the queue because they don't know themselves what they are talking about. The simple way to figure it out; just know what motherboard your machine has? If its an Intel one, then you will know everything within a second. All you have to do, look for system properties and find your motherboard name on Google; follow the Intel website detailed specification.Next, know the exact frequency and type of RAM(DD3/4) as that's most important while considering any type of upgrade for your machine. Once done with that, go ahead order it.The last tip, if your computer is too old. Consider changing your old mechanical HDD to SSD. This will still cost less, you can still live with your computer for 3 more years. Later, have the best machine with high-end spec at low cost.Hope this helps!

I bought this RAM from Kompbay a couple of weeks ago and was forced to return it due to one of the modules being faulty. It was disappointing to have to return them as I was looking forward to seeing my MacBook Pro mid-2012 take off, but the service I received from Amazon regarding the refund was impeccable. I can never fault them on their customer service and in this scenario they were fantastic by repaying my money within 12 hours of receiving the returned modules. When I came back to Amazon to re-buy the RAM, I was a little cautious of receiving a faulty module again so decided to buy the same product but from a different seller. This appears to have been a wise choice as the package arrived within 3 days and my MacBook is now lightning fast: a 30-60 second opening time for Adobe Photoshop CS6 has now been reduced to 3-5 seconds and the standard Apple programmes like Safari and Calendar open almost instantaneously. I am more than happy with this product and cannot recommend it enough!

So far, I am very happy with this product.I've replaced the 4GB of memory on my Macbook Pro 13" Mid-2009 with this product. Before purchasing this, I had done everything I could to make it faster (cleared caches, moved all files to an external hard drive, updated all software, moved iTunes and Photos files to hard drive, removed all email logs, removed useless software, installed Memory Clean 2 and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware to clear any unnecessary files and debug the Macbook). The Macbook was still slow, sluggish and couldn't multitask (ie run Safari and Spotify at the same time). Now I've installed this product, I can run Safari to look things up and write emails, run Logic Pro to write music or Xcode to write codes, and have Spotify running in the background - it all runs smoothly at the same time and I'm really happy with the results.I'd recommend this to anyone who's experiencing a slow Macbook Pro and wants to run demanding software.

This RAM upgrade has transformed my late 2012 Mac Mini in 2 minutes. I should have done this 6 months ago when the Mac started running ridiculously slowly & constantly using 99% of the 4GB of RAM. Dr Cleaner did his best to keep things moving, but couldn't get me below 86% & I was having to optimize 100 times a day! Anyway, I now have a delicious 16GB of RAM & Dr C says I'm using 30%, but forget the numbers, the important thing is that my Mac works properly again!I'm the least tech-savvy person you're likely to meet, so if you have any doubts about whether or not you're capable of doing this upgrade yourself, believe me when I say a small child could do it (not that I'm recommending anyone lets a child loose on their precious Mac!).I watched a YouTube video on what to do, & when the package arrived this morning (ordered yesterday afternoon & delivered this morning - I love Prime!), it genuinely did take me less than 2 minutes to install.

My Mid 2012 MacBook Pro had slowed up considerably since installing Yosemite. I was beginning to despair (I am not a techie by any stretch of the imagination) and so researched solutions to see if anyone had had similar issues. Someone on the Apple support community stated they'd installed more memory and that this simple thing had made a massive difference.I had nothing to lose and bought this memory pack before I could change my mind, especially when I saw the cost. I followed instructions from Apple re how to take the back off my Mac (VERY SCARY!) and was able to install these without a problem.Result? My MacBook Pro is back to its super speedy self and I am VERY happy. If this has happened to you, then please don't worry. Its like I've got a new laptop again and I would happily recommend this memory upgrade as a great solution if you have a slowed up Mac.

When I think about computer memory, the first name that comes to mind is 'Crucial'. Their memory may not be the cheapest but they are certainly amongst the very best. I purchased this 16GB memory upgrade kit to replace the existing 4GB RAM in a 2011 MacBook Pro 2.7GHz 'i7' laptop. The 16GB will 'max' the memory in this laptop making it considerably faster than it is at present.Another upgrade I have planned for the i7 is to swap its existing 500GB HDD for a 512GB SSD (solid-state drive, no moving parts) thereby increasing the MacBook Pro's performance still further. By increasing RAM 4-fold and removing mechanical components it will dramatically improve reliability and reduce overall power consumption. The laptop's battery should power the i7 for longer because no motors or spinning platters are involved.

I purchased this memory for a 7.1 white unibody mac (2010) running mavericks. Memory was identified as made by crucial. I have bought two 8gb memory upgrades (for two white unibody macs) through amazon that I thought were from the same supplier but on checking they were dispatched by different suppliers for amazon.Apple specify the maximum memory for this mac laptop as 4gb but looking at various user's feed back and on google is appears that running mavericks this can be increased to 8 or even 16gb. I stuck with 8gb. The memory went straight in, fitted perfectly and worked as soon as I re-started the laptop. It took about 15mins to install. Both laptops have been used for several months now with no problems and a really useful speed increase with mavericks. All in all a really good by. So far so good.

Ordered at the same time as my brand new Mac Mini, I was apprehensive about installing the additional memory, even though reviews suggested it should not be too difficult. However, watching several YouTube videos on how to install the two cards, I made the effort. The most difficult part was opening up the Mac Mini, where the base has to be turned to allow access to the memory. Once that was overcome, the original memory is removed, and replaced with the new. Following the instruction videos carefully, this was quite simple, and the end result, with the extra memory well worth the trouble.Because I fitted them before using the Mini at all, I cannot compare performance with the upgraded memory to that without ,but I am impressed with the package as now working.

If you are having misgivings about doing the installation yourself don't. Just follow the instructions you will find on the Memory menu under About this Mac on your desktop and it couldn't be simpler. The cover did require a small amount of persuasion to fully open but that wasn't a problem. It seems to me it was obvious if you were trying to put the card in the wrong way round so no problem there either.I did as suggested and went for a cup of tea after refitting the power cable. When I switched on the start up was at normal speed and the new memory was registered. Will it make a difference in operating speed? I'll have to monitor that as I start work but from a purely installation perspective this was simple.Go for it!

Yippee!I got two of these 8gb sticks to go along with a previous purchase of 2x4gbs, giving me a total of 20gbs.If I had bought from Apple, it would have cost over three times as much, so I am one very, very happy bunny.I use my late 2011, 27" iMac as my main media hub, (I don't own a television of any kind) and also to make music on a semi-professional level.I'm now able to run larger sessions, video tracks and many more plug-ins at lower latency. Large sample files, once cached into memory, now open and play instantly.Video and photo editing have also benefited from this RAM overkill, along with multi-tasking many more Apps.I would definitely recommend this product and this Seller.

Aperture on my Macbook Pro mid 2012 started to work with more and more delays when I moved between files and folders as the library grew. That problem has now disappeared so I am very pleased. Runs well with 60GB of photos and videos even if other programs like Safari, Outlook, Excel etc are open. However, I have not noticed any general improvement in speed for other applications or when starting up. But apart from Aperture, I do not use any heavy duty applications so maybe that is not surprising. My MBP does not seem to heat more than before.I had to buy a really small screwdriver but found it easily at the local hardware store. Only one of the screws was very tight but gave in in the end.

Though Apple offers RAM upgrade to max 8GB, Crucial 16GB kit looked like a worthwhile choice. I was encouraged by Mac owners that documented the installation on Youtube and also by Amazon Discussions Forum member A. Roberton, so I new what to expect when opening the bottom plate of the Macbook Pro and what performance I would get. The upgrading took took me aprox.10 min only and the Mac recognized the 16 GB upon restarting. No more slow downs due to memory shortage when editing vídeo. Thanks to all.Installation does not void the warranty, according to Apple authorized service point in my home time, so I can recommend this purchase.

I was a bit dubious about Crucial as a company after reading about their customer service, so I purchased this from Amazon. The product arrived very quickly and I installed it easily first time. I'm a complete newbie with installing hardware so was a bit nervous, but overall installation was painless and easy.Worked first time out of the box and I've definitely seen better performance from my Mac Book Pro since installing. Awesome! Used to upgrade a 2010 Mc Book Pro which I thought was on it's last legs. I'm confident I've got many years future use out of my Mac Book after installing this product. Very pleased.
