So far, very pleased. Here are some tips if you're considering buying new SODIMM RAM.This RAM set was to breathe a new lease of life into an Acer E5-511 laptop that only had 4GB of (very poor, according to benchmarks) performance. To my surprise, the exact same Kingston RAM is available on amazon which I verified by serial number. Kingston acr16d3ls1kfg/4G Apple DDR3 1600MHz 4GB SODIMM Laptop RAM. If you've got this yourself, you should be fine.-------------------------------------Using dmidecode info or otherwise, QUADRUPLE check that your replacement RAM modules are suitable to the previous. Check the power requirements, the number of pins,dual/single ranked (how many black rectangles you can see).* This ram and it's precedent were '12800 204 pin SODIMM'.* The processor of this laptop only allows a max RAM speed of 1333MHz, so buying anything rated higher than 1600MHz is pointless without the facility to overclock it to run at lower latencies along with the speed cap. Please, check your processor limitations so as not to waste money on flashier speeds that are unattainable.* According to my processor's manual (search online), it will allow a maximum of 8GB total split between 1 or 2 channels, with both SYMMETRICALLY dual or single ranked to specific requirements. (Bit meh, but 8GB is fine for its purpose).*The original RAM is DDR3L like this crucial set, meaning it will happily operate at 1.5v (the standard if there is no way to configure it in the BIOS to use otherwise) or 1.35v. Some DDR3 runs at 1.65v which will be a problem, but the spec for DDR3 says 'must work at 1.5v'. Buying DDR3L means you're good to go at normal or less power.*There is much less risk buying 2 new modules as part of a kit than introducing 1 new one to the 1 existing and hoping for the best. If both have different power requirements, the higher operating voltage will be used for both.*In general, dual channel (having 2 sticks of ram) is better for performance than one stick (single channel) by improving bandwidth. (2 x 4GB > 1 x 8GB). And as for rank, dual rank is simply cheaper to manufacture than single rank - functionally, there is only a slight chance of having to run at slower speeds with dual rank (but this is irrelevant in my case, being locked to 1333MHz max). It just so happened to be that a set of single rank was cheaper at the time.-----------------------------------------------------------------SODIMM RAM is deceptively small. I panicked a little when I saw it (cautious), but it's precisely as big as it needs to be.For a 204 pin module, there is a string of pins approx 4.25cm in length, then a 1mm gap followed by 2.4cm of pins (measured edge to edge of bottom).Remember also that if you're still on a 32bit operating system (!) that the OS will only be able to use 4GB max, and you'll need to upgrade your OS/kernel.I do wish my processor wasn't so limited and the BIOS not so impeding as to stop me from altering voltages as you can very simply on a desktop, but such is life. 4GB of high latency RAM upgraded to 8GB (~7.7GB usable) dependable Crucial. Looking forward to seeing how it lasts. I paid £47 Jun 2017 "used - like new" in original packaging which isn't too shabby.

Having read several NUC reviews, memory white papers and reviewed the Intel NUC support site for memory compatibility I realised 16GB NUC memory purchase was the complicated part and i decided on the Crucial (Micron) 16GB 1600MT/s CL11 [CT2KIT102464BF160B] and I can confirm that this works for me...Why?My NUC is UK model (you get a G plug) of Intel Core i5 4250U NUC Barebone with MB D54250WY and BIOSVersion :: INTEL - 19, released 2014.03.03.If you need / want 16GB of memory for your NUC then you might want to be aware of a few things first:1. It turns out that memory compatibility with NUC has many considerations especially on 16GB requirements2. I urge you to look at the intel nuc support site for latest information on bios updates /compatible ram etc3. you need low voltage ram you must get DDR3L1.35v (note the L on the end and check you really are getting 1.35v compatible chips); the crucial chips appear to support 1.35 and 1.5v (i can't confirm 1,5 as my nuc operates 1.35v)4. when you use 16GB (2*8GB) you are running the nuc at maximum performance as both memory slots are populated full bandwidth is utilised and this calls for memory and timings that work in harmony with the chipset of the nuc5. it is possible to go higher than 1600MT/s; and there are review sites claiming success with G.Skill memory however this is not yet endorsed by Intel and I can only say that I stuck at 1600MT/s as the gains reported seem marginal 3-4% in most cases and for me I don't need this on a system I purchased more for the balance of power requirement Vs performance.i won't go into detail here there are plenty of review sites for NUC and other sites that describe how memory functions however for my usage it is important to get memory that works and will prolong the life of all devices as I intend to have a system up for media duties amongst other things (won't be off vary often) so for me I don't want to push the MTBF down (point 5. re:overclocking memory).I hope people looking at NUC find this useful; at this time i didn't see too many people reviewing memory compatible with a haswell nuc.

The NAS is well constructed and has a very small footprint, so could easily fit in any office space. Is also very quiet and aesthetically pleasing to look at and would not be out of place along side normal hifi/home entertainment equipment, however the blue stripe might not be to everyone's taste and the LEDs may be distracting. All-in-all the hardware for this is well thought out, good options for extension, my only minor complaint hardware-wise is that the plastic cover at the front of the disk trays feels like it could be broken/cracked easily if it were mishandled. The software however may leave you wishing it attempted less. I guess it is designed for novice/non technical users,as it has a quite a fussy multi-modal Windows-eqsue interface which attempts to hand-hold you at every turn, and has applied defaults which it doesn't look like you can disable (e.g. port 80 is tied up but only to be forwarded to by the clunky admin UI). Advanced users will likely find this type of setup frustrating or limiting.Out of the box, it is also quite outspoken, as it likes to verbally announce when some system tasks have completed, e.g. firmware update, RAID changes etc. This type of alert can be switched off, but was a bit of a surprise when it first happened as I wasn't expecting my NAS to start yelping in the middle of the night! However, when I found myself googling if it were possible to get FreeNAS/other Linux OS on this box, I realised this wasn't going to be for me and ended up returning it. Which is a shame as I quite liked the hardware/form factor and have yet to source an equivalent. If you can live with the OS/UI, then it's quite a strong contender for a compact, feature-filled NAS.

After looking at specs on the Apple website I decided to buy this for my iMac (late 2015 27"). There are other memory listed as explicitly "For Mac".I also later checked on the crucial site and its system scanner says this memory is not compatible. Well so far that's simply not true! Naughty Crucial! I'm pretty sure that amounts to incorrect advertising.Anyway I scoured the internet to see if there was a difference between this and the mac equivalent. I couldn't find a definitive answer other than a post of someone else saying they couldn't see any discernible difference. So I popped it in, booted straight away. It doesn't instantly make everything faster, but what it does do is prevent me having close programs. When doing music production I was regularly having to reboot or use a utility to free up memory all the time otherwise I'd get sound glitches while it tried to load stuff. Since putting this in loading tracks, samples are super smooth and doing so no longer interrupts the live sound being playedPackaging was minimal which I like (came padded in bubble wrap packets and sealed antistatic bags. Had all the correct labels on.I don't know if there'll be any long term impact to using this memory over official "For mac" memory since I can't tell you what the difference is (speed, frequency, CL number, voltage etc are all the same) but if anything negative starts happening I'll update the review. In summary, this saved having to replace what is otherwise still a very capable and competent computer and me a lot of money. Worthy upgrade

I purchased the Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3L 1600 MT/s (PC3L-12800) ram for my 2012 Mid Macbook Pro 13.3. I have noticed a noticeable difference in performance from the pre-installed stock 4GB ram. With the pre-installed 4GB Ram the Macbook pro took around 1 minute 20 seconds to boot up and now with the upgraded 16GB ram it takes roughly 55 seconds. Web browsing experience is much more snappy. Pages open instantly and scrolling through content is seamless. In theory those using demanding editing software multi-tasking should be more than adequate with 16GB ram. I use my Mac for web browsing and media consumption so do not really put the Mac under real stress. One thing to note is on the Apple website it says the max ram you can configure is 8GB for this model, however rest assured this Crucial ram kit works faultlessly without any issues. The installation of the ram itself is simple. I went on Youtube to watch how it's done and it is very easy. You have to fiddle with the second ram slot a little but apart from that anyone can upgrade the ram on the Mid 2012 Macbook Pro. To conclude, I highly recommend anyone who is considering upgrading their ram, especially those who have 4GB ram. It makes your Mac more snappier and also brings it up to modern standard. I managed to get the Crucial ram kit for £57.98 with postage and packaging included and is worth every penny. Next thing on my to-do list is to upgrade my hard drive to a SSD which will make my Mac a beast and wont need to buy another laptop for years.

This memory was well packaged in a sturdy plasic housing that was easy to open.I purchased this RAM as an upgrade for my Asustor AS5002T NAS which came with just 1 GB pre installed. As usual with Crucial it arrived quickley and fitted easily with no problems, and my NAS immediately saw the 4GB on powering up.Be advised that you cannot leave the supplied 1GB chip in the first slot and add this chip to the second slot as the chips have to be matching pairs. The max total being 8 GB ie 4GB in each Memory slot. Slot one must be occupied. The memory chips are aligned by the cut out slot in the connectors and inserted into the socket at an angle lifting vertically as they are pushed in and engaging with the holding clips into the notches you can see on either side of the board. If you are uncertain there are plenty of clips on You Tube showing the method. Memory is susceptable to static so only hold by the edges and touch any earthed metal before starting especially if you have a nylon carpet etc.Once you have inserted the memory and powered up your equipment should start its power up sequence. If it hangs you have a problem with the memory, it is either incompatible, faulty or not inserted correctly. Try powering off and re-inserting it before going further.I had no problems with this Crucial memory, it looks well made and is functioning fine.As the price is reasonable I highly recommend it.

NOTE: I already upgraded my CPU from the stock i3 to an i5 processor*, so my computer is now about as upgraded as it can be. Upgrading a CPU is possible with this model laptop as the CPU isn't soldered to the Mother Board. The reason I upped the ram is I was running out of ram regularly with heavy video editing projects (originally had 8GB of ram).I use Ubuntu Linux (16.04 64bit) and do not know how this ram would function on this computer if it were running Windows as I do not use Windows (and very happy that I don't)... although, I would guess that this ram would work fine. This is a very easy upgrade for most laptops...just check your specific model on the Crucial website to be sure you are ordering the correct ram modules for your specific model computer to avoid the hassle of getting incompatible ram modules ;)So far I have had no problems with these ram units, and everything worked perfectly when I booted up after installing them! I am using them in a Toshiba Satellite c855-s5355 Laptop running Ubuntu 16.04 and my System Monitor shows 15.6 GB of usable RAM out of the 16 GB installed (8GBx2)... I am a happy camper!*fyi... I installed the Intel Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz (2 cores/4 threads) which worked perfectly in my computer. However, I do not know if Windows 8 or 10 would have hiccuped with this upgrade... again, I use Linux, so it just worked in my case :)

Purchased in order to upgrade the RAM on my 3 year old Sony Vaio laptop, which was used for my Computer Science course at university. Initially I was skeptical on purchasing the 16GB kit, on further research this was the maximum memory that could be purchased for my laptop, so do check that beforehand. Use the Crucial System Scanner Tool (website) to check this out. After reading numerous reputable sources, I was left with the impression that memory should be purchased in pairs (as was the case here) what this means is, the memory that is currently installed on your laptop may be wasted, in my case 4GB of RAM. You can mix and match RAM brands, but its not advisable, there are the chancers in life that will disagree here. Most of you will be wondering, how it performs in terms of everyday applications. In other words is it worth upgrading from 4GB DDR3 to 16GB DDR3, in its simplest form I would say yes, certainly. YouTube loads much faster in terms of viewing HD 1080P content, I can have my banking tabs open, Skype and Microsoft Word all without any delays/lags. Previously with 4GB of RAM, there would be delays and my laptop would often struggle. For little over £100 its much cheaper than purchasing a new laptop, a good buy in my eyes.If you found my review helpful, please click the "Yes" button to state this so I know its been a help to someone. Thank you!

I've gone through a bit of an ordeal trying out several different kinds of memory modules in an aging ThinkPad T400 before I purchased these. The ones I had tried include Kingston, CSX, and other Crucial modules, all to no avail: none of them would work, resulting only in a beeping sound when turning the device on, and nothing on the screen.Crucial's customer support was kind enough to point me to these modules that are guaranteed to be compatible with my ThinkPad – they're, in fact, the same modules as the ones contained in the CT5311317 kit as suggested by Crucial's compatibility advisor tool on their site, the latter simply being their website-specific code for the same product. As it turns out, while other Crucial modules match these 100% when you look at the specs, they're not actually a perfect match: my laptop needed low-density memory in order to work, and that detail is not included in any specification! Make sure to double-check with Crucial's tech support if in doubt, they have a handy chat tool for that purpose.Instead of ordering directly from them, I went with Amazon, and got the product both cheaper and faster. And it works! Booting into Windows this time was effortless, and it feels like I've gotten a new machine. The modules come properly packaged in their respective plastic cases each, and are well-protected.

I purchased two of these RAM sticks from Amazon Warehouse for my HP Elitebook 840 G1. According to Crucial's own website this RAM is compatible for the intended laptop and I can confirm they do work perfectly and at full speed. The memory units were also in good condition and there were no faults when running Memory Test from the BIOS screen. The only thing that might scare you a little is that the silver holding clips did not sit perfectly on the grooves like the stock RAM provided by HP itself but the RAM is still secure, doesn't move about and connects fully. My system recognised the RAM with no problems at all, I plugged it in and turned on the laptop and that was it.Just a note to those who are new at this,RAM doesn't have drivers so all you have to do is plug it in and that should be it if nothing went wrong. There is no software to install.I'll try to add a picture of the clip later and if someone else made it sit better, please let me know :)Edit: As you can see in the picture (sorry for bad quality, it's the best focus I could get on) the silver clips don't sit in the grooves perfectly and the ridge by the connectors has a gap too. I applied moderate force and did not try to force it into the grooves as I was afraid of damaging it.

After purchasing many Crucial products in the past, this one lives to it's name. Crucial has been known for reliability and value and it certainly shows in this product. The 4GB DDR3 Laptop RAM has been working for around 1-2 months after purchasing and has increased productivity on my laptop by at least 50%. The RAM itself is very easy to install but you must be aware of the specifications of your laptop first before purchasing. These include:Slots availableRAM speedRAM typeWhilst the RAM works at incredible speeds and providing 4GB extra is fantastic, Crucial offers a Lifetime warranty on this product, so there is no need to worry about the product failing.I installed this into my Acer Aspire E1-571 and it instantly solved many of my issues such as lag when opening multiple programs, multi-tasking lag issues and video editing. It runs hot but cool enough to not overheat and is a fantastic addition to a machine that needs that slight boost. Finally, if your looking for some RAM for a laptop that is affordable, reliable and with great customer service... then this is the memory you are looking for.

This is to let everybody know that this ram is perfectly compatible with Dell Inspiron 15 3531 running with processor Intel Celeron N2830 and hard disk 500GB. I spent months to find out how to go from 4GB ram to 8GB ram. Checked out Intel files about the processor, tried to find motherboard specs. Almost all the vendors told me that it was not possible, that I had to stick with 4GB, no options to upgrade. Well, it was untrue. This 8GB ram is working amazingly, the values taken from Task Manager are extremely low, the use of the disk turns from 98% to 12% and the overall performance of the laptop is greatest than it has ever been before. Just use some commonsense when installing: clean the working area,if possible do it on a wood table without any electric appliance on it. Turn off the laptop, take the battery out, press the power button for at least 15 secs to drain all the circuits from any energy residues. Open the panel, wash your hands (yes, you know that!) and do not touch the golden pins both of the old and the new ram. That's it. A relatively small investment to gain a new, powerful laptop.

So, trying to speed up my mid 2012 MacBook Pro - - I've got two choices, get a new one, or upgrade the two components that people say make the biggest difference. A new MacBook is biggish money, when it might not be needed, so I thought I'd give it a go + try to fit the bits myself. After getting rid every program that I didn't need or hadn't used for ages, and clearing just about everything off my desktop (this made quite a difference to restart & stability) I slotted in 16gb of Crucial ram and a 500gb Crucial SSD (a couple of screws and a SATA plug). The improvement is astounding. I could say this is like getting my MacBook back to new, but that wouldn't be right, my MacBook was never this fast as new!Restart was about 5 or 6 mins. Had a clearout - restart 2mins 20secs. Fitted Crucial bits - restart 22secs! Open a photo in (closed) CS6 in 6secs. Speed everywhere, internet, file/folder opening, running programs, shutdown, Wi-Fi connecting etc.etc. Very Pleased. Money well spent. Result.

I have a laptop which cost me £160 brand new, a year or so ago. The reviews of it were not good, but I had to look at the price, and I thought that it would run better under Linux than Windows 8.1. I took out the hard disk enclosed and put in a SSD, which at the time cost £60, and installed Linux on it (PCLinuxOS, XFCE desktop). Now I've doubled the RAM by adding this card for under £18. Although identically specified to the 4Gb chip already present, it looks totally different, but as far as the hardware is concerned, it is being treated as a perfect match. For under £240 I've ended up with a laptop with a 15.6" screen, full spec keyboard with separate numeric keypad, and going FAST!!4 stars because it's just a RAM card and what can you expect? But it works!!I ordered this on 25th August using Standard Free Delivery, and it arrived in the post on 26th August, it was supplied by CCL Computers, not through Amazon, so I have to say that the company is good, too!

Does exactly what it says on the tin! I would never buy anything other than Crucial memory because you know what you are getting with Crucial compared to any other brand out there! I initially purchased this just for 2011 iMac which came factory fitted with 4GB, lets face it, with running high end Adobe programs, it was slowing it down, until I installed two sticks of 8GB RAM and boosted it up to a whopping 20GB of RAM. It now runs as though it only came out the box yesterday. It can take a maximum of 32GB so in the near future I will be ordering another pack alongside an SSD to further boost its performance. My second purchase was for my HP Laptop which just so happened to run exactly the same RAM as my iMac which was very fortunate.once arrived I installed it and again my laptop got a great performance boost! For anyone wondering my laptop model is the DV6-6B50sa from HP.Would I buy this again? Yes most definitely for the iMac's final boost!
