I bought this 3D printer for the sole intention of having something fun to do with my son, and the price of this one (£199) meant that it wouldn't be too much of a disaster compared to the more expensive ones if it ended up not being something we enjoyed.I was prepared for some headache and heartache when it came to setting it up, and it was quite daunting when I opened the box, but actually it was a breeze. The printer came with a single sheet of paper instructions, but included in the box was a USB stick with not just a more detailed pdf user manual, but also a handy video to follow! I think I could have set it up in half the time it actually took me, but I was held up by a slightly I'll fitting Allen bolt.I had to remove about a half mm of plastic from one of the screw holes with a paring knife from the kitchen, but no buggy, bolt went in after that. It's worth noting that the kit is already partially assembled, if you can put together a simple bit of flat pack furniture, you can assemble this. The kit comes with a selection of Allen key sizes too.The included software was easy to install on my three year old laptop with windows 10, and again there was enough information included with the printer to have the software running with one of the included example 3D files minutes after assembly was completed.Printing itself is really quite extraordinary. Apart from the initial calibration with the included credit card sized calibration card, I haven't really had to change or fiddle with any of the printers default settings! We have managed to successfully print a Mickey mouse, batman, Dumbledores head, a tiny millennium falcon, some Pokémon, a decent sized stationary holder in the style of a castle, a star destroyer, some Disney characters, a bookmark amongst others! A few prints have failed but I think that's been down to iffy designs. Some have failed due to the print not adhering to the printing plate, but a quick Google and some cheap hairspray fixed that.Printing can take a bit of time, anything between just under an hour to many many hours depending on the size and detail of the print, however it is quite fun to watch and is not overly loud.Even with all that printing, there is quite a bit of the included half kilogrammes of PLA plastic left that came with the printer.There are guides online on printing parts from this printer that upgrade this printer, how mind blowing is that!Overall, it's been a relatively trouble free, inexpensive and enjoyable experience using this so far!

Very nearly gave it 4 stars due to one of the assembly rods having a faulty thread. A longer screw plus some plumbers tape and then araldite glue sorted that one out.I'm a total newbie to 3d printing but was amazed at how much they've come down in price. After many, many hours of research i decided to opt for this model.After sorting out the previously mentioned assembly problems i was up and running. After having the printer for a couple of weeks now i cannot stress enough how important the bed levelling is. Check this after every couple of prints and you won't go far wrong. Once you have a level bed you'll be fine. I also experienced the bigger prints curling up at the ends.A bit of pritt stick on the painters tape sorted that out.I'm currently in the middle of upgrading the printer by buying the lcd screen and printing off various upgrades from the thingiverse website. There is a wealth of knowledge to be found there. Ive also just installed an lcd screen on the printer which negates the need to be permanently hooked up to your computer. I can now just put my designs on an sd card and print off from the lcd screen. Just search for 'lcd zimmer for print rite' for instructions.For the price this printer is fantastic. It's an excellent starter printer.

I was bought this machine for a Christmas present after I hinted I'd like to have a go at 3D printing. Up to yet, I have found it easy to assemble with just a couple of adjustments needed to line things up. One thing I have found though, is that the learning curve is a steep one, not just with this model but any 3D printer, you have to get your head round exactly how it works for a start, then you have to learn how to program it and how to use the drawing program, it's not easy.....a bit like learning all there is to know with Photoshop in half an hour. But a little patience and perseverance will work wonders and in no time at all you will be able to print a few simple things.The machine itself is sturdy and well made and designed, for the price it's well worth buying, like buying your first car, you have to start somewhere and this machine is a good start.

Up until now 3D printing has been a woefully frustrating experience due to my first ever printer. So I decided to buy a new one as I was very disappointed with the quality of my other printer. I was actually going to wait a couple of weeks and buy a printer in the £400-500 zone, but, of course, I was too impatient and decided to buy this printer. So far I'm thoroughly impressed and over the moon about my decision. Assembly takes an hour for someone who can follow basic instructions, there is also a handy assembly video saved in the free USB you get.I'm very happy with the printing quality. At last I can now print things that don't look like shredded wheatabix!To conclude,the printer does exactly as it says on the tin, and beyond. Price is good, print quality is good. It's pretty good! 5*

Excellent value and good prints.... went together with no problem at all (if you take note of right and left markers on the posts and don't have to disassemble and reassemble!!!) in less than half an hour ... and you don't have to be a mechanic to do it either!! I had some problem with the prints not sticking so I removed the blue tape and covered the bed with a glass sheet and use 3dlac (both available from Amazon) and everything is first class now. Wish I had got one of these ages ago!additional.... I have found that preheating the glass bed with a hairdryer increases bed adhesion!

This is outstanding. I bought this not sure as to how much I'd use it and to have a try with the kids, its amazing.The initial set up and build was straight forward, in fact I though I was missing some instructions as the diagrams to put it toghter only filled one sheet. But it was as simple as that.Calibration is easy once you get your head around it and the bundled software is a piece of cake.Since then I don't think its stopped, we've built gadgets puzzles and practical things, i actually printed a volume control for the radio in my wifes car that kept falling off.

I never normally write reviews but for this paticuallar product I just had to. This is an amazing first 3D printer. The assembly of the rig and the installation of the components was seamless. I was almost expecting the first print to be terriable as I was expecting a lot of callibration but it came out perfect. If you were undecided on what 3D printer to get then I hope this review helps. I HIGHLY recommend this product for beginner enthusiast .

I don't normally write reviews but this has deemed worthy of a review.For £199 I was prepped for a few days build time and many headaches. To my surprise it was built in 30mins. WOWI've had no problems with this except sticking to the print bed. So I upgraded with a hot plate and now it's perfect.The software setup was easy and simple.I love this printer especially the price... everybody should have 1 ?

For the price, it is pretty good. As it is DIY you also enjoy building it and taking it apart.4 Stars because the extruder is getting jammed and now creating a mess. This could be a combination of extruder quality and my own handling. Still trying to clear or the extruder . Any help on this from the supplier would be great!

Great printer, easy to build, great instructional video, I had to tinker a little with the set up but after that everything was working well. I had an issue with the repetier host setup, so I sent an email to colido, I got a fast and very nice response telling me what to do and how to make it function.

Ordered mine on Friday and it arrived the next day. Took 30 minutes to set it up and start printing. Print quality is superb: as good as our Ultimaker2. I cannot recommend enough!
