This pen is good for someone that is thinking of getting into 3d printing. It’s the cheaper option but it does the job. What you get:In the box you get a cable (no plug a 5.0v - 2.0a plug is needed).A stand for the pen, instructions, a traceing plastic cover for a screen of a phone or tablet, four different filament colours and the pen itself.Don’t trace over your phone or tablet without the plastic tracer! And put the foam corners on it, unless you want to burn your devices screen.I had trouble getting the filament to stick on the plastic tracer, I found that putting it on the highest setting and letting it sit in one spot for a second to stick before moving the pen helps it. You get four settings, the first is painfully slow and is probably only needed to fill in gaps when you have down printing something other then that the speeds useless. As soon as you start I would put it on the second setting and draw a few lines before cranking it up a level. An app can be downloaded which give you an outline of a zebra, earrings, castle, Ferris wheel, carnival tent and few others. When you download the app it will save the stencils to your images, don’t delete them or they will be deleted off the app and you cannot get them back.... stupid really. So far I have made a castle and a zebra and am now starting a creeper form minecraft. The pen doesn’t have a screen so you cannot see the heat or the level it is on. The pen does however retract the filament and turn off when it is not in use for about 10 minuets maybe a bit less. You can get a box filaments that are made for the pen which come in 20 colours for about £16. I reccomend using that as the motor doesn’t sound very strong. My only problem which is very small is the filament at the end of the pen, makes me feel the motor has to work hard to pull it through the pen and that you have to get comfortable with it dangling. What I made:Pictures are what I made in order, as you gain confidence you can create literally anything you want. The tree took the longest as I had to build it up later by layer. It’s amazing what you can make and is rewarding when you see the end result.I would reccomend the pen for any first timers that want to try the art or start making it a hobby, easy to use, cheaper then others, works great.

Had this for a Christmas present with the box of 20 coloured filament. Had to do this review as so many people are getting the facts wrong which I thought to correct for other potential users.1. Great for starters use, it takes a while to warm up on the first use which is normal for a heating element.2. You can use other 1.75mm PLA & ABS plastics as long as they melt at 200-210°. I bought a 1kg spool of grey PLA for £12 on Amazon and ive had no issues at all.3. Instructions are vague but they get you there. Also YouTube videos produced by Polaroid are very helpful (I watched them...all).4. Plastics do give off a smell (like very very faint),which is toxic however in the quantities you are subject to while you this pen don't cause you any issues. Hell, I've used mine for 12 hours straight and have had no health issues arise from it.Users please do your research before buying (Google, YouTube). The best tool is a tool used properly with the correct now how.10\10 best Christmas gift for an engineer!!

Its actually my sons, but i find it great fun to create objects with him!We have used the app and created some items from the templates, the app is really easy to use and there are loads of things to create. It's powered by USB, we power it from the laptop and use the laptop to find pictures and plans of what we want to create, it warms up quickly and the speeds are easy to adjust, changing the colors is easy one click of the retract button and it ejects the plastic so you can feed in another color. He likes it that much we used all the filament that came with it within a couple of weeks so i have purchased the 20 pack that is on here, loads more colors including fluorescent ones which look cool!Just noticed they have launched a wood version too, thats a birthday present sorted!

Good value as you get four colours in with the pen. I find the pen quite thick and bulky but I haven’t had any problems with it at all, I think it is brilliant, I have made my geckos a hide but they don’t use it, I plan on making them more stuff as this plastic is perfect for making them stuff as it’s waterproof and probably not toxic? A sunbathing shelf using magnets is my next project. The only downside is you can’t order specific colours unless you buy a huge reel, I will have to order a box of lots of different colours. If anyone knows different, please advise me ?

Great fun! My sister loved it!But make sure you buy PLA filament for it, and be careful not to buy the mis-advertised cheap ABS filament. ABS will clog the nozzle (due to PLA requiring lower temperature) and also can given off nasty smells / gases... PLA only and you're good to go!Remember keep you hand steady and moving at a constant speed is key! Enjoy!!

lightweight with just 3 controls for power & speed of feed, came with 8 assorted filament spools, within minutes i was able to master raised lines & joints in the air. mine only has a usb cable which is annoying. the line thickness is 1.75mm & easily painted.

Great fun a little tricky to get the hang of if using it then we worked out you have to colour as if it was a colouring pen can use on normal paper to trace dries in 2 seconds and doesn't stick to anything no mess my daughter loves it 8 years old

Bought for 10 year old but ended up having loads of fun myself. Easy to control, nothing complicated just got to be imaginative and get use to the pen/flow of plastic. Wonderful stress reliever and an alternative to mindfulness colouring books.

Got this as a Christmas present for my son. The whole family really wanted a go. Works well and is good fun. Can see that with a bit of practice you could make something cool. Requires patients and imagination. Great new medium for an artist.

My 6 year old son received this for Christmas & even though he is much younger than the guidelines state, he can just about manage to use it with some support from us. He really loves it & has a, lot of fun with it.

Bought it to replace a same priced unbranded 3dpen.... omg the difference! Love it, it's simple to get the hang of and ready to go right out of the box. Works with abs and pla filament. I reccomend this :)

We tried a couple of other 3-D pens before this one this one is by far the best and by far the easiest to use 100% recommend great value for money and you can also use different gauges of plastic wire

Bought as a present, the item arrived quickly and looks to be a quality item. I picked this one after a lot of research, make sure to look at the non-branded colour inks/media

I liked that if you are knowledgeable within the 3D printing community it’s quite counterintuitive to use. But the written instructions are very easy to follow.
