I have just binned our previous Cole and Mason perspex salt and pepper grinders which got so grimey after 14 years that we could not get them clean so I got these as a replacement.I am very impressed with the development of the technology in 14 years. The previous pepper grinder never really worked very well but this one has a variable setting to grind fine or course. Both the salt and the pepper grind very smoothly and give a really good finish with minimal effort.The design is very interesting and they are quire striking to have on the table. Shaped like 'The Shard' with an angled plastic sealed lid, they are stylish and functional. The tops look open at first glance (obviously this would not be practical)

Standing side by side like smart sentries on the table, resembling twin shards, these immensely tactile, chunky, reassuringly solidly made, condiments will an asset to any table for years to come. Here in Cornwall we are very proud of our Sea Salt, so having a grinder for that speciality salt to hand is great. I enjoy using those multi coloured peppercorns, too so they will both look spectacular in the clear acrylic holders. You choose the fine or coarse result by turning the screw underneath, from tiny grain to larger granules, there is a guide on the plastic inside.No batteries, these are hand-draulic, just twist and freshly grind your salt and pepper. This mill set came in a lovely gift pack. The mills are made from acrylic and stainless steel and look well made. I love the contemporary design which is sure to add some glam to your dining table or Kitchen top. I do have a Cole and Mason mill set in a different design (with a stem/rod running through the middle) but I’d rather have this as the stemless design allows me to refill the mill set easily and means there is more room within the mill to take more product.Pros:Contemporary design acrylic and stainless steelYou can easily adjust the grind from fine to coarse with the knob situated at the base of the mill.The wide opening and stemless design ensures refilling is a breezeLifetime

I love the fact that this mill set has such a big capacity container so that you don't have to keep refilling all the time, plus the containers are clear so you can see exactly how much is left. The containers are so much easier to refill, instead of having to insert the salt and pepper into tiny holes with a metal rod through the middle you can actually spoon in the condiment. The grinder is well made and grinds perfectly, with a small adjustable lever at the bottom to control the coarseness.The only thing I don't like about this mill set is the fact that it grinds the condiments very fine, but when cooking I prefer coarser grains to get more flavour. These are visually pleasing - beautiful, even. However, this is not the most important feature of these salt and pepper mills. No, it is the grinding mechanisms, one ceramic and the other stainless steel. Over the years I have spent good money on substandard grinding mills, as I lost patience and gave up fighting to use each expensive set and buy another replacement that turns out to be something else to struggle with! This set is truly excellent in both the form and function departments. HOWEVER, do not mistake me, it is the function of the grinding mechanisms that I am in love with and is why I cannot recommend this set enough.

I've had some Cole and Mason tableware before and they are lovely products. This cruet set of salt and pepper is every bit as nice as I'd expected. The design is quite contemporary and striking. As well as looking good, they are also very nicely made. They come complete with a small quantity of salt and pepper. The grinding mechanism is adjustable from fine to coarse, and works well. They are easy to hold and very controllable. Probably too nice for the kitchen, these will look fantastic on any tabletop. My only very slight quibble would be the packaging, which I think could have been slightly better for such a premium item if it were intended to be a present.

I mean ok; maybe you're not the kind of person who would want to pay quite THIS much for salt and pepper mills. But I do have to say that these are fantastic items.They have a sleek, fashionable look that instantly smartens up any dinner table. They are easy to use and come with adjustable settings if you're into that kind of thing.They even come with some salt and pepper in them!The mechanisms are guaranteed for life, however that works!, so I can safely say you'll probably never need another salt and pepper mill in your life after getting these.

A cracking set of mills. Easy to grip and twist so should be fine for most people unless they have quite severe grip problems. They are sooo easy to refill (unlike any other mill we've owned) and the coarseness adjustment is really easy to set.I particularly like the fact they're supplied ready to go (about half full) which is a great idea. With a lifetime warranty I don't expect I'll need to buy another set. I did think the box was a little on the cheap and flimsy side though!

These salt and pepper mills are not only good looking but really functional.And best of all, the wife likes they way they look.Result for sure!Easy to fill and simple to use they look good on the dining table too.You can change the degree of grinding by adjusting the knob on the underside of the grinding wheels.Also the grinding mechanism is guaranteed for life.They look and feel well made and look like they've got a great future of regular use ahead of them..

These mills are perfect and do the job great! They also look good and are easy to use, clean and top-up. Really like the design of these salt and pepper grinders, modern but ergonomic. Easy to fill and to see which is which (not always the case!).Also like the fact that it's easy to adjust grinding level to get finer or thicker granules.We've been through a few salt/pepper sets but generally pay much less - only time will tell if this premium-priced set justify the outlay.Would make a nice gift.

Very heavy and solid grinders. Quite stylish but simplistic, the brushed steel effect at the bottom gives them a nice modern look. These grinders can be adjusted to allow for finer pepper/salt or for a more course grind depending on your needs.These feel like they will last years.The nice touch is they come with salt and pepper already in them!

Nicely presented in a gift box, with the mills visible through the plastic packaging. The mills feel nice in the hand and have a pleasing and easy to use grinding function. Comes pre-filled with rock salt and peppercorns. Nicely done and recommended.

This is a decent enough salt and pepper grinder which is easy to use and produces the salt and pepper in just the right sizeFor me.There is the usual Cole and Mason quality in the mechanics.Seem a little overpriced though.4 Stars.
