I resisted buying a printer because we didn't seem to need one but because of lockdown homeschooling and the sheer number of worksheets for the kids, I needed a reliable and reasonably cheap black and white printer. This has been great so far. Really easy to set up, quick to print pages and good quality. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the cable you need wasn't included (still baffled as to why this would be) but I knew this from previous reviews so ordered one at the same time.

Ordered this product online and it arrived the same day, a few short hours later very impressed with ease of purchase and delivery.Product itself is very good for the price, easy to set up using the cd included, doesn’t have WiFi connection but I suppose it’s reflected in the price.Includes toner so this made it cheaper than anywhere else online, brother laser printers seem to be the best in my opinion after years of various makes and models.Prints great quality in seconds highly recommend

I should have done this a long time ago. Colour ink cartridge printers are okay, but they eat ink and if you don't use them for a while they dry up.It then takes another expensive replacement cartridge or cartridges to clean it if it's not ruined! The laser jet may only be B&W but how often do you need colour? It doesn't run dry and is long lasting, 1000 prints! It is so quick and easy to set up and is rapid at printing compared to ink jets!If you fit into my catagory, you won't go wrong.

I bought this to replace an inkjet printer which gave no end of trouble with paper jams and expensive ink which needed frequent replacement. This laser printer is on another level (but of course only in monochrome). It delivers prints very fast and the print quality is excellent, usually only seen in larger office machines. I suggest downloading the drivers from the Brother website and not using the disc provided. If you don't need colour printing then get this laser printer and don't look back

I was in need of an inexpensive mono printer for work where I don't need colour. It had to work with a Mac, and this was the cheapest I could find and I am delighted with it's performance. It was a doddle to set up though the instructions were a little vague, so I downloaded a manual from the Brother site which made it a lot clearer. It's very quiet, and prints the first page very quickly, much faster than any other printer I have owned! Further pages follow quickly with very good print quality

I wanted a simple printer, it didn't need bells and whistles because I only do copies or forms. My other printer did all that but went thru ink, even if I didn't use it!This does everything I want, print is quick and quality is more than acceptable. Economy of ink yet, time will tell.Buying again I would opt for the copier version, I already regret that omission, I've retained the 'old' printer for that very purpose.I would recommend the Brother B+W Laser printer without reservation.

I have had a laser mono printer for a number of years (a Samsung which was not new when I got it). On a tight budget, I chose the Brother HL-1112 for three reasons.1: It looks good2:The cartridges are available cheaply3: It was in stock to collect from my local shop. One minor niggle was the fact that there is no dust cover supplied for the paper tray, but 5 minutes with a small hacksaw and a smoothing file and I modified the old one to fit. This allows the paper to sit flat stay clean.

When the cost of inks for an inkjet was more than the cost of a new printer it was time to consider other options. Since it is used mainly for printing boarding passes etc,, this looked as it fitted the bill. It was easy to set up, test page printed quickly & quality was more than acceptable, even on draft settings. Haven't explored the cost of replacement toners, I don't expect to need one for some time yet, but at least this one isn't going to dry out, unlike the inkjet. Very pleased so far.

Printer excellent for personal use, very clear text & good economy. I suggest caution is needed if intending to use the printer for professional documents. The reason is although it could have been rare fault with particular printer or ink unit, smudges appeared on right hand side of any paper fed into printer whether printing or not. There was no obvious part to clean & instructions advised not to. This did fix itself before I used my warranty to have printer replaced, but it lasted 24 hrs.

Positives The printer is great for a small office as its is very compact. The non oem toners are less than £7 so its cheap to maintain, It takes the TN1050 cartridge which can be refilled but the tester toner needs a reset gear to be re usedNegativesThe oem cartridge is a tester and has around 30grams of powder in it and a normal one is 70g. So within 400 sheets it was empty. ( keep the original toner cartridge)No usb A to B lead ( dirt cheap) not sure why its no included

As I bought mine brand new I set everything up only to realise theres no USB cable. I had one spare and used that. I did email Brother and never got a reply so based on that dont expect miracles when you need help from them. I personally would not purchase their products again. It might be a £1 cable but I got no customer service or reply. Printing is good and as it's just for postage labels I'm fine with it. A fair bit of noise printing but not really any more than other laser printers.

I was fed up buying tricolour cartidges costing £££££ s and also the sly way they put only a bit of ink in the supplied carts, then you have to pay £40.00 for new ones. which in some cases is more than the cost of the printer. The Brother is great, quick, easy to use small enough for a small office. and the toner is a lot cheaper than ink jets. Downside... it only prints grayscale/black, but if its for the kids we print an outline then get them to colour it in so they learn to draw etc.

I have always been a fan of Brother printers and so, when my old printer went pop after over 50,000 copies, I had no hesitation in buying another.I particularly liked the HL-112 because it was so simple - it is a printer and that is what it does. No complications with scanners, copier or faxes included. There was no USB cable in the box but then, I have never bought a printer with one and so would not expect one to be included, unlike some other reviewers - my old one worked fine.

Needed a mono laser this looked capable of doing the job. Running costs reasonable, during the set-up found it only handled A4 paper. I assumed if it handled A4 it would be capable of handling A5, WRONG! Can't fault the printer really, except it is a little slow at waking up, and I can't seem to find a way of turning off the powersave, despite there an option to make the printer available during a time period. Small niggles but then it is cheap for a laser. Good kit for normal use.

I bought this at the last minute, and I'm glad I did. Although it has few features and only prints in black and white, it is easy to set up and produces clear prints quickly.I was fed up of inkjet cartridges drying up between uses. This printer has a (powder) toner cartridge so no danger of that. Remember to buy a printer USB 2.0 cable as it doesn't come with one. Then plug it into the mains and into your PC and the rest of the setup is automatic. I didn't use the CDROM included.
