Set up for Chromebook/Google Cloud PrintNice printer for the price, with cheap ink as Brother dont use microchips in their replacement toner cartridges to rip you off.I'm using this with Chromebook and my phone only; I found set up for this configuration tricky but here's how.Problem connecting to wifi router was fixed by moving the printer next to the router (then pressing the WPS button on the side of the router and then the wifi button on the printer...connected eventually). For android phones you need the Brother iprint and scan app. Connection with this wasn't straightforward either as the printer didn't immediately appear as on option on the app.Eventually "search on network" >>> select printer. The real pain though was figuring out how to get the printer to work with chromebook. You have to register the printer to make it work with Google Cloud Print. Works a treat. I did this as follows>>You need the printer IP address (print out the Printer Settings from the LCD menu on the printer, it's on page 3)Type this into chrome browser (dont forget https://). This yields the control panel for the printer to adjust settings like duplex printing etc. In the Network tab>>>NETWORK>>>PROTOCOL>>>>GOOGLE CLOUD PRINT (make sure ticked)>>>ADVANCED SETTING>>>>REGISTER>>>> “GOOGLE” WHICH TAKES YOU TO Google registration page>>>confirmThis then registers the printer with your google account which means you can print from it. See the chrome settings in Chrome (3 dots top right of browser)>>settings>>>advanced>>printing>>>google cloud print. In the document you want to print (gdoc, gmail, Quip) the print option requires you to "Change" the printer destination to the Brother printer.Hope this saves you some time....

I try really hard not to print unless I absolutely have to. However things like Boarding passes for low budget airlines and other antiquated companies still love their bits of paper. I was fed up of having the ink constantly dry out during critical moments on my old HP Inkjet and just wanted something simple that will just work when required!Although this is mono only it is great and is so quick and quiet and I am hoping to find out cost effective. The best feature is easily the wireless Google Cloud print function, meaning all the people in the house with chrome books can now happily print away without having to email it to the main Windows machine, even Android tablets and phones can print with a bit of fiddling. My main reason for not giving it 5 stars is because like many other reviewers here have said, the set-up instructions are appalling! I am a network engineer so I would like to think I am a bit above average when it comes to understanding this sort of thing, but it definitely took me longer than it should to get it up and running on the wireless network.I would suggest that you ditch the instructions, connect it manually using the on screen display and then navigate through your browser to the IP address, where you can make the necessary changes. In fairness mine was probably more complicated than most as I run numerous wireless networks on different floors of my house. So in conclusion I absolutely recommend this, I will be buying one for my parents for Xmas, but I will also be making sure I install it for them!

Until recently I was the Newsletter Editor for an ex-serviceman's association and this job, unpaid I might add, demanded the use of a high quality colour printer, my last being 2 Canon MS5750s both of which were very unreliable and expensive to run. And so I decided to return to the use of a mono laser printer, my last being a Kyocera FS1500. I have never had a Brother printer before but it was highly recommended by my PhD toting son. Set-up was very straightforward, and within about 15 minute I was printing my Last Will and Testament in duplex on 160gms paper. What immediately struck me was how quickly it printed page 1 followed quickly by the others. It is rated at 26ppm and that is what it was doing and doing brilliantly. The print quality is excellent, and I am sure that this printer will serve me well for many years to come.I am writing this addendum about a week after receiving the printer and all is still well with it and I have printed quite a number of documents without any problem at all. The time from pressing the "print" button almost always results in no delay before the first page is produced. Compared with my very unreliable Canon Ink-jet, which often took minutes before the first page was printed, often with a paper feed problem, I am now in Printer Nirvana. I would be very confident in recommending this printer.

The printer I ordered was not the same model as the one sent to me. The one that arrived is the HL-2365DW which I am very pleased with. It has a high capacity toner that should last a while.Beware that the WiFi only supports 2.4GHz. I spent ages trying to set that up manually and also using WPS as I tend to use only 5GHz on my router. Fortunately there is an ethernet port that came to the rescue and you can do WiFi setup using this.Printing is of excellent quality and quite fast. Duplexing works well and I was also able to print DL envelopes using the manual feed. There are lots of useful settings for toner saving etc. I would recommend this printer to anyone wanting a device to print good quality letters etc.Two things to note but are not "show stoppers".Both models are discontinued by Brother and that the warranty is with Zeb Office. I failed to fully read the enclosed warranty certificate about not having to register online. I did try on Brother's site but it fails. The printer is not recognised by Brother. I contacted them and they informed me that whereas the printer is a genuine Brother product it has ended up not being on record. This is actually managed by ZebOffice.

Not a heavy home printer user, but need one to print out occasional documents especially for holidays, and fed up with inkjet printer getting clogged and dried out when used infrequently, and costing a fortune in ink as it runs its maintenance cycles in the background... so opted for a laser instead which can handle infrequent use.Small footprint,a proper enclosed papertray (many have paper sticking out) and a doddle to install on windows 10( some other reviewers had trouble,, but following software instructions went seamlessly and I am not a techie) after downloading drivers ( used an old USB printer cable as doesn't come with one and Brother does recommend a cable over WiFi for initial set up!)within minutes had also installed android app for Brother and now can print from my PC , my laptop, my Tablet and my Phone...all wireless and easily.Utilities seem good and printer output is very configurable , and perfect for my needs .A little slower and noisier than some more expensive printers but perfect for my needs.

Can't fault the supplier as arrived a day earlier than stated. This printer is the best I've ever used. I've owned several inkjet printers in the past and always had problems with print quality and also the cost of ink as they used to use lots of ink to print. I decided some time ago that I no longer wanted a printer; however due to Covid19, I now work from home and have no access to print. I took the plunge and bought this model as I didn't want to print colour, just the odd few documents for holidays etc. The printer set up was easy and very impressed with the speed and quality of each page and even more impressed that it automatically can print double-sided saving paper. The only problem Ihave had is that Brother will not register the printer as it was not apparently produced for the UK market. Not too amused, but in the overall view, I will, by law, get 12 months guarantee, so not too worried.I would definitely recommend a Brother printer to anyone looking to buy this model.

We needed a printer for use in two home offices for occasional printing. We have had it for a few months now and it is doing a good job. Even the starter toner pack that came with it seemed to last a long time and there are lots of third party toner cartridge providers out there too.The wi-fi functionality is incredibly helpful - no cables, other than the power lead, for one thing. The only downside to the wifi - and it is really not a problem with the wifi, but with the material your home is made of, and the location of the printer - is that when first setting up it can have difficulty finding the network if it is in the diagonally opposite corner of the house. However, the solution is simple, take the printer (no computer needed) to the router, plug it in to the power, turn it on, and set up the wifi there. Then unplug the printer and take it back to where you want it - it will normally be able to find the signal then (once it knows what it is looking for?).

The physical setup is clear from the included quick-start guide. Seems like there's a lot of protective covers here and there but hey, it worked properly on arrival so clearly the protective covers did their job! USB setup is very easy but it doesn't come with the cable you need (USB A to B). The wireless setup can be done from the printer menu but it's a very awkward experience on which I gave up and resorted to setting up the wireless over the USB cable. I have a hidden SSID on my network which usually makes these things a little more painful. Setup CAN be done on the printer but if, like me, you have to do quite a lot of manual configuration it's not worth the bother - just dig out the USB cable and plug it in temporarily to do the setup. It's 2.4GHz wifi as you might expect. After being configured it worked first time on macOS 10.13 High Sierra. It's a wifi duplex black and white printer which exactly what I needed and it's worked well so far.

Easy to set up if you follow the instructions. Simple and quick to set up. From out of the box it was printing wireless in about 15 minutes, thats including the time to read the instructionsNot had it long but so far it is flawless for its intended use (small business, home network). Its nice and quick and quietPaper is easy to load and loads from a tray at the front so you need make sure there is space n front of the printer to slide the draw open. The print is very crisp and clear which is excellent for me as I need it to print bar codes and sometimes quite small ones.It is also worth noting that it seems to run sheets of labels from the tray perfectly too. However, time will tell if running sheets of labels will end up being a problem due to build up of adhesive they may leave. But if you're not running 1000's of sheets through I cant see it being a problem. Not had it long enough to comment on the toner usage yet.

The proof of a printer is told over time, so this is purely first impressions. This was chosen because of very good experience with an earlier model (HL-2270DW). A second printer was need at another location and the HL-L2340DW is the updated equivalent, selling at a very good price. Unfortunately the toner cartridge is different from the older model, which means having to stock both. Just like its predecessor the 2340 is well built, is easy to install on a Mac system, prints quickly, double sided, quiet and has a good "always on" sleep mode. Print quality is excellent. Although it is a wireless printer, like the 2270, it is being used only wired for now. Go online, download the latest Mac driver for your OS (Sierra),plug in the prinetr and follow instructions, all up and running in under 5 minutes. If problems develop, I'll update the review.

Bought this as tired of spending loads of money on ink jet cartridges - do you really need to print in colour? It does what it says on the tin.Reasonable quality output. Setting up was fairly painless. Got 6 months out of the supplied toner cartridge, and replaced with a compatible one which works fine (unlike on many ink-jets). The paper tray holds a decent amount of stock.Only downsides are that it is quite large and noisy. But wifi means I can put it out of the way, and I can live with a few seconds on noisy printing. So great value overall.Do check compatibility as doesn't work with Mac 10.6.8, except via USB (I think).Had a minor problem and got in touch with Brother via their support site. They called me back the next day and sorted it (no insurance needed). This is turning into an essay, so will stop now...

I have been looking for a good printer i didn't want an colour inkjet printer i would find it a waste of money because i like only to print in mono over the years i find the inkjet messy and not very clear, so i started to look at the laser printers but there are so many laser printers on the market and it's a nightmare to choose the one that fits your requirements I have seen a laser print out and they look much sharper and much quicker than an inkjet one in my opinion ok the Brother laser printer L2340DW have a 32mb memory which is good much better then a 8mb one and cheaper price, I have to be fair on this product compare to price in store shop prices I found this to be cheaper with Amazon.Ihave not had the time to set it up and write a big review on my first time with Brother laser printer.

Set up was fairly easy for me (Windows 8 + wifi connection); the setup disc wasn't able to auto-detect my wifi settings but it only took a minute to tap in the password via the buttons on the printer itself. Print quality seems fine, but haven't really put that to the test yet.One thing to note: if your printer comes internationally (e.g. shipped from Republic of Ireland, delivered to the UK, as mine was) Brother's online product registration will fail to recognise your serial number as valid. Their support staff were quickly able to manually register me, but it means I have the "pan-European" warranty, which is the same 1-year length but is a return-to-base warranty instead of the on-site warranty that a UK-bought printer would get.Minor difference, but worth knowing.

Removed from box and inserted toner. Pressed wifi button on router and turned on printer, connection quickly made without any problem whatsoever. Able to print from laptop without any cable. Downloaded Brother iPrint and Scan from App Store as directed in instructions and printed from iPad. In printer settings toner save and duplex (double sided) set to on. Now just to see whether I get efficient use from the toner! I rarely use a printer and had got tired of ink cartridges drying out and using up ink endlessly cleaning print headers hence the purchase of a laser printer. Hope my review helps other users decide to buy as I was nearly deterred by user reviews saying they had problems with wifisetup.

I bought this on impulse after my HP inkjet went into yet another 'cleaning' cycle, clanking and banging for minutes and using half the ink (compatible of course!).I'd strongly recommend you use the on-printer setup to attach to the wi-fi (2.4Ghz band only) then install just the basic drivers on on your PC, available from the Brother web-site. The full install pack from Brother has a ton of bloatware you don't need and looks like it's not been updated since Windows Vista era. Once the basic driver install is done, everything about the printer can be controlled from its inbuilt web-pages you can access from your PC's browser. In use the printer is quick, delivers sharp prints and isn't too noisy.
