Excellent for students. I am studying at college and have to do a lot of reading and cross referenceing from some very thick books (usually 600-1000 pages) and this holds them perfectly. Saves me a lot of neck pain because I can type quotes while this stands next to my laptop at a comfortable angle. It is so great to not have to use my arms,fingers and phone to hold open books while I type! Works great with small paperbacks right through to chuncky hardbacks. I debated on buying this one or one which would arrive sooner, which didnt look as good. now am glad I waited for this one, it's worth it! Delivery wasn't too bad- I placed order on 31st March and it arrived (in N. Ireland)

I bought 2 of these bookrests, and returned 1 of them.Pros:Design is really good, especially the sprung clips to hold back pages (better then a simple bar of wood)Decent pine wood used which looks greatCons:The construction is not great - some holes had clearly been re-drilled so the support rotated properly, front lip misaligned, uneven coatings on the clips, hinge loose (reasons why I returned one)Clips come loose very easily when usedWith a little DIY the construction can be improved to a decent level - I removed the screws, put some superglue on the ends and put them back - this has stopped the clips loosening whilst still working properly and secured the hinges.Overall I think this is one of the better bookrests on the market and at a reasonable price.

The quality of this item is top notch and it comes in a really sturdy plastic box which is perfect for keeping it in during storage. I even used a huge, heavy, floppy book (about the size and thickness of a telephone directory) which is a strategy guide for Skyrim and this book stand coped admirably. The item also feels really nice with smooth as silk wood and nicely rounded corners. Its really substantial feeling but light, a perfect combination. Delivery was swift too! I'm very happy with my purchase.

Just what I needed. My only problem with it is that book's bottom page edges rub on the flap (which the page holders are attached) when turning pages, to solve it I simply put a thin piece of cardboard between the flap and the book (not a big deal). I haven't had it for long, but it is strong and doesn't look like it is going to break any time soon. Also even if it did break somehow, due to its simple design it would be easy to fix.

This is a very good quality bookrest,it will hold the huge reference books that I use,for example it holds a book 12inches by 9inches by 2.5 inches thick with over 1000 pages.I even tried the times comprehensive atlas,and it hold that with ease.and that is one humungous book.you can buy this with confidence.

This is just right for large academic books. It is also good with new books and make it so much better especially if you have to copy from it. It's a lot sturdier than I thought it would be and has the deck chair style back so that you can change how upright you want it.

Lovely sturdy well made stand which holds very large books comfortably, the brackets at the front keep the pages open but are not too tight. This was bought for my daughter to hold her University books so they didn't keep snapping shut when she was working.

Brilliant product. The page holders are particularly excellent. I cannot compare with book rests which are more for cookery books, but the ones on this product are springy to help hold books in their place, irrespective of size. Really glad I bought it.

Well made in beautiful wood, strong and secure, this bookrest is a must for people like me who have pain and stiffness in their hands and are not able to hold a book open. Especially good for larger volumes

I was looking for something that would hold a large book when I'm copy typing from it and this does the job beautifully. Even on a very thick book it holds the pages back and the book in place.

It really can hold big books. Great to study for long hours without being in a neck-stressing position! Great wood. Quick delivery. Well packed. Loved it!

A must have for students! Well built and useful (especially when you take in to account having the book stood up makes cross referencing much easier).

This is perfect for holding light and heavy books. I need this to refer to when writing so it makes life easier.. It looks expensive too!

Very light, beautifully constructed and adjusts to varying heights. Easy to pack up and store away. I just love it.
