This is the best pen holder I have ever had. It is big enough to take lots of pens and pencils. It is made from a solid block of wood. This makes it really heavy, so it won't topple over even when you pull out a pen in a hurry. The metal sharper blade is perfectly safe (not sharp at all) and is made from a nice thick bit of metal (as is the screw head). It does get a bit smeared with handling, as you'd expect, but it wipes clean with a tissue so no problem there. The wood has been varnished (or maybe oil-treated) which gives it a subtle shine, and also makes it wipe-clean.Its design is so distinctive that it is often picked up and remarked upon by visitors to my office. Having seen these desk tidies on the manufacturers website I was surprised to be able to buy this one for less money on Amazon. Most sites which advertise these only offer the 'natural' coloured version and I particularly wanted the 'dark' version to complement my dark oak desk.These can also be obtained in the 'double' version which is twice as wide and has two holes but these are only available as in the 'natural' colour.This desk tidy looks, and indeed is, a really good quality product. The solid wood body of the 'pot' has a lovely silky smooth finish to it and the metal 'blade' looks realistic without having any sharp edges. With the 'dark' version the blade is a golden metal colour rather than the chrome of the 'pine'

I bought this because I needed a penpot in the kitchen & I liked the single one so much.I thought (although I had no real basis for this) that the deeper hole for putting pens in would be the same size as the one in the single version, with a much shallower second hole suitable for a sharpener & a rubber. (larger hole is approx 6cm wide at top but tapers to about 3cm, the shallower hole is about 4cm deep & has approx 4cm diameter)You can fit about 6-10 biros or pencils (depending how fat they are) in the pen side comfortably, after that it gets difficult because the hole is tapered so it's much smaller at the bottom that the top.I'm keeping it, but if you can't decide which one to go for,

I really like this desk tidy! I bought one for my eldest son who is almost 50 and 'has everything' but not this. He was thrilled to bits with it! Said he will have to 'super glue it to the desk' because so many at work have jealously made fun of it - but that's just what one would expect. Apparently, they are all wanting to know where he bought it! But he lives in the States and I have not seen anything like this on US websites. Now my other son also has one, and another two friends overseas. They are all really delighted with the style and funky look, and the solid structure which does not tip over when you use it. Wish I could buy more things like this to send to my family and friends...they all say it reminds them of when they were young,

The colour of the wood in the product is slightly lighter than shown in the picture, but has a detailed and nice-looking grain to it. It has been cut from a sturdy block of wood and feels heavy and substantial. The screw and metal blade on the front are very shiny and finely etched with a design. Sitting on a wooden desk, the Suck Sharpener Desk Tidy blends in well. It is amusing and eye-catching as well as being a suitable design for a desk tidy. The only slight downside is that the central 'well' that holds your pens and pencils narrows a bit as it goes down, meaning you probably can't store all of your stationery, but have to be selective.

I bought this for my son and he loves it, but to be honest if he had hated it I would have kept it and used it myself as I love it too! I opted for the dark wood with gold coloured fittings because I thought it looked "classier" and I think I made the right choice. It holds a good number of pens/pencils - don't be fooled by the image it is deep enough that the pens don't stick up like the ones shown. It is sturdy and very well made, and the solid base means it won't tip easily. It might be useful if a waxed coffee cup (or a plastic one) could be cut down to sit inside as a liner without showing over the edge, just in case a pen leaks. Totally recommend this product,

I bought this "sharpener" for a dear friend of mine. He spends many hours at his desk and likes for things to be tidy and nice. He says he can't find inspiration if something is not in the right place or if something simply isn't esthetic! When I first saw this desk tidy I thought to myself "Oh, what a great gift this would make", then I immediately had second thoughts because it is very different from your usual desk tidy so some might love it whereas others might hate it.But I bought it anyway and... Guess what?? My friend totally loved it! He was very impressed by the all the details. I think I'll buy one for myself very soon!

I bought this item as a gift for my girlfriend starting her new job mainly as a novelty purchase.However I have to note that the quality of the product is excellent. It's a very sturdy wood product which comes in a well packaged box. The metal sharpener has Hackney and the E8 postcode etched on it which is a trendy and desirable London neighbourhood which I thought was a nice touch to the product.If I were to be picky I would argue that compared the size of the product the internal dimensions are quite small although it will accommodate most peoples desk stationary.

Bought as a silly pressie for a friend who is really in his stationary. He has a huge pencil about 5 foot tall and thought as a joke this sharper would go with it! Fairly well made product, although a bit pricey. The internal hole where you stand your pens in could have been drilled out better though.. it seemed rather unfinished at the bottom and was not smooth but at various different levels with lots of small holes.. looked like the wood had rotted or had been eaten away inside or something. But as a joke gift, it did the job.

This is great - it's a pencil holder so there's not much that can be said about it really.It is sturdy and well built quite heavy so doesn't get knocked over. Has space for plenty of pens, pencils, scissors.Looks great other teachers love my desk for all the novelty items I have... also have a post it note dispenser shaped like an apple (fab buy highly recommended also)Only thing I'd change is to make the fake sharpener blade magnetic so could hold paper clips - now that wld truly make it perfect.

Good fun. Buy it for someone who keeps pens on their kitchen counter, in their office, in the shed, in the loo, wherever. It's unusual, holds at least 16+ pens of all sizes and thicknesses (I just counted) and all the people I bought one for at Christmas - and one for myself - have loved it. The wood is pale and untreated but could be given a bit of wax protection if you can be bothered. I have a pale wood kitchen and it looks great and attracts lots of comments.

I really like this pencil pot. It feels really well made and looks great. It's sturdy and fits quite a lot of pens and pencils. The solid wood and metal design is really great and it looks good in real life due to how well-made it is. It does have curving inner sides though, so if you put a lot of pencils in, some will stick out a bit, but it still looks great. This product is a great gift and it's a bit more exciting than a normal pencil pot.

It's a really nice quality pencil/pen holder. I've had loads of compliments on it. Its nice having something nice to look at when you look up from your books. It is quite solid and chunky.The only thing I can say is that it is unfinished, I'm planning on rubbing wax on it soon hopefully to keep it from getting grubby and marked form pens and pencils over time. It would make a nice present/ stocking filler for someone. definitely a good buy.

I'm working from home due to the pandemic and needed a pen holder. I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this one, as it is a novelty holder but it's actually very sturdy, well made and looks really nice. The inside is curved at the bottom but it still holds a lot of pens. It matches nicely with a desk tidy I bought, so I'm very pleased with the outcome. It would make a great gift for someone who likes stationery.

I've just received this, and it's much smaller that I expected so I'm glad I went with the double rather than the single version. I probably wouldn't have bothered had it not been reduced to £16 at the time of purchase. It holds my pens and paper clips which is what it's supposed to do so it does its job.I just need to tidy my desk now so that it can be displayed to its fullest, and admired by all.Thank You
