Time will tell whether my g/daughter takes to "playing with trains". Not long to Christmas. We lost a couple of hundred pounds wooden railway when we were flooded out on Boxing Day 2015. The wooden tracks all floated away. Survivors were a tunnel and level crossing that are supposed to make a noise but doesn't anymore. This is our fresh start with bigjigs . The grandson has grown away from trains but our new little lass seems as if she could be willing to give it a go.

Although this is basic, it's a good starter set that you can then build up from. It's compatable with most other makes, so you don't necessarily have to stick to the same brand. It's good quality and will withstand lots of somewhat heavy handed play! Initially I was worried that my son would find it a bit boring going round and round in circles, but it keeps him entertained for ages. I consider this good value with the potential for many hours of happy play.

My son, now five, was bought this for his first birthday on the understanding that it was the starting point for a growing collection. This first train set has sparked an interest and love of train tracks that means we now have tonnes of the stuff and 2 boys who add to the set every christmas and birthday!!! Knowing all that, I am now starting my nephew on the 'track' of train set ownership ... I hope he loves it as much as my boys!

My 2 year old loves her first train set. The quality is as good as Brio but the price isn't as much by any means. It is good for using the imagination and we are now having to listen to VERY loud train noises from her much of the time (which is the only negative bit of this!!...). I would recommend this product!

This product is well priced and absolutely well made, you can expand it by buying other boxes with additional tracks.Kids will play for long time and as is wood will last for long time, a nice present for somebody who wants to give make a gift that will last for the future.

My First Train Set is a big hit with my grandson, he absolutely adores it. It is simple to put together, takes up very little space, the quality is superb, and the train is a perfect size for little fingers. I would highly recommend this product for young children.

I ordered this for my 18 month old Grandson. It came quickly and nicely packaged. I haven't actually opened the box, that is my for my Grandson to do on XMas. I've also ordered letters to spell his name. Overall, I am quite pleased with the value and the service.

Well made and good for the price bought this for my sons first train set. Not to many parts as he likes to break things so thought best to get a wooden one. It’s a really nice set and for the price it is great. Will see how he gets on but really can’t fault this

Lovely little train track. I like it because it's not too big yet my son still gets to enjoy the whole train track play experience. He loves the trains that come with it. And the little houses too. Good buy. Definitely buy for your 2+ yr old boy/nephew/brother.

I bought this for my God son for Christmas and of all the flashy toys he got, he was happiest with this! He played with it almost all christmas day and I have now ordered more track for him. Definately worth it and fantastic price. Durable and well finished.

I bought this for a 9 month old without realising it was for 3 year old min. However, spoke to his parents who were happy with it. The baby absolutely loves it. Lots of fun, very sturdy and actually great for his age.

So far I can only truthfully comment on the way it looks and feels (very good) as it a birthday present for my grandson in India and he will not receive this till the first week in October. I will know more later.

Bought this for my grandsons second birthday - he loves it. Its sturdy and easy to use for tots although it states 3 years and over - great gift cant recommend enough. Would recommend 100% and very quick service.

It is a great fun for kids and very good for imagination. We have bought it to play together with a two years old, it was a good choice to have something to play with him and it is actually making him busy.

This is perfect for a child's first train set. Not to many pieces and it isn't to big. My son is 20 months and we had a nice time together with his new Christmas toy. Even his 3 year old sister enjoys it.
