First up, I like the humour - there just isn't enough (especially when you're out there killing things, eh, and that'll be people). Great humour.Bad points first, though. I got a crap copy of this from Amazon (it was loose in the box and the XBox seal had been broken, even though the box was wrapped in plastic. Amazon were very good about it, and had no haggle about refunding my money. The main reason I returned it, though, wasn't because it'd been opened, as long as it worked I'd have been very happy to keep it. But, it didn't work properly. I tried it over the weekend and during a cut scene, even when changing camera/look view (nothing else to do) the screen locked up on me and the sound disappeared.Restart 1. Played on for a couple of hours; same thing. On about Restart 4, guess what, I got Three Rings of Death, and I was starting to think that maybe it wasn't the game after all. Somewhat disappointed, I turned everything off and, giving the machine a couple of minutes to cool off, turned it back on again; having had one machine die on me (and had a replacement from Microsoft) I was quite expecting the same thing. Not a bit of it. It started as usual, but you can bet my heart was in my mouth for a while.Anyway, after another four or so restarts (but fortunately no more red lights), I'd pretty well determined to send the thing back, then I got the worst of system lock-ups, just when the screen had prompted me of a save in progress. Restart, say, 9 to be charitable. This time when I turned my Xbox (an Elite, by the way) back on, I saw straight away that all my game profile and save data had disappeared. Gave me a really good feeling, you can bet. The game worked, sort of, after that, but I wasn't comfortable. Anyway, I went into town and bought a new version (having opted for a refund from Amazon). Guess what, it plays much better, but I've still had one system lock-up for no apparent reason. This time it happened when I was trying to sneak up on some of those pesky Russians, and I was creeping through a treeline close to an out of bounds area (word from the wise; you get 5 seconds in the dead/red zone before you die). So, in total, I've had two copies of this game from two different vendors (in two different countries, by the way) and had a similar problem with both. That said, the second version is proving to be (relatively) much more stable than the first. That's the negatives. The game itself is a lot of fun, and the banter between you and your pals from the AI is a hoot. The game itself is pretty well free-roaming, and you can, in a lot of places, backtrack, so if you didn't have all the time in the world (because you were trying to stay alive) once you've cleared the obstacle you're facing, well you can go back and have a sniff about.Vehicles are fun (I mean, how cool is it to play chicken with a tank on a golf course - driving a golf buggy; with four soldiers on board. The thing really whizzes about, but it's not Forza. Driving the vehicles is OK, but not exactly simple, then you have to remember that it's a sort of secondary function. Good thing, which is realistic, is that there are a bundle of vehicles you can drive and, well, if you've wasted one tank you can (after a nice long walk) go and get another one, if you can remember where you saw an empty one parked.Ammunition is aplenty, and there are some natty devices that come your way. I particularly enjoyed using the mortar spotter (somewhat easier to use than the close air support "goggles" which does a similar thing - except that you have to guide the missile onto the target. Fine if you're not being shot at. There's a bucket of different types of ammo and frankly you're never likely to be short of something to shoot with. If you like "sneak up and head shot" type of warcraft, then there is a whole selection of sniper-type weaponry. Of course, there's everything from a pistol to a bazooka. Logically, too, you can't carry too much, which makes you sit down and think about what you're going to do with what you've got - and keeps you keen to watch out for what's available on the way.The aforementioned sniped enemy will go down straight away, but even though you're firing with an almost silent weapon, his demise will be spotted straight away, so you need to plan accordingly because you will get a reaction. The pace is just about right, but what made it for me, apart from the realistic scenery that you sometimes get caught just looking at, is the fact that the game is played during the day, so bad light isn't an eternal battle. That and the ever-present humour. For that alone, I'd recommend this. Blood and gore, like Viking or Assassin's Creed it's not; it just a great fun romp. Even though I did sometimes have difficultly in getting out and finding my bearings after a whole wood had been shot down around me. Still, you can do that and more - I spent a pleasant half an hour on one level, a good mile away from any stray action and laid a whole town to waste with the mortar plotter. OK, like that it wasn't an FPS, but as an exercise in what you can do it was an experience.I'd recommend this game, it's a lot of fun, not exactly taxing, and, well, there are gold bars to find, if you look hard enough.

Bad company is a brilliant game. The single player aspect isn't spectacular, but the multiplayer is something else. So to start off, the battlefied franchise has never been well known for it's single player campaigns. This is the first one to incorporate a real story and it's not done too badly. I think it introduces you to the controls, damage systems and the gadgets of the game quite well, but to be honest, I wouldn't buy it for the single player alone. One thing I will quickly go into is the new frostbite engine, allowing you to blow up pretty much anything. This system is great.. the 'novelty' of it all wears off pretty quickly, but once you sink your teeth into the online mode it becomes second nature and seems hard and annoying to imagine a game where you can't just blow up the wall to get the guy who just ran in. It's not 'groundbreaking' but it's a lot of fun and very very useful online. So the main part of this review then is the multiplayer. I'm a big fan of Call of Duty 4 but I truly think this is, dispite it's niggles, a lot more fun. There's not a lot of modern online shooters that are good for the new generation of consoles, so I'd say the current competition is between this and call of duty. But Call of Duty is simply nothing like this, whilst it concentrates on fast and furious gunplay, bad company is a bigger package. Although at time of release there is only one game mode and 8 maps, the mode simply doesn't get boring and the maps are massive, all lots of fun and contain a lot of variety within each one.You will be able to drive jeeps, tanks, boats and helicopters. These vehicles all behave nicely enough and when used correctly can be devestating. But the great thing about this game is the balance between all of the classes, vehicles and weapons. Tanks can be deadly, but the specialist Class can run up beside it and plant C4, only to run a few feet away, click the remote control and experience a great explosion (one of my favourite and most satisfying moments of the game). Obviously there are many other ways to take out vehicles too, such as mines, tracking guns which can be used with or without rocket launchers, airstrikes, artillery and even stationary rocket emplacements. The game online just feels right. When you get to grips with the classes and weapons, you can swiftly deal with any situation thrown at you which is immensely satisfying. All of the vehicles, levels, destruction and such just combines to make every match unique and provides all sorts of experiences that no two people will have. It's a game where you rush to tell your friends about the ridiculous sniper shot you took where you hit the helicopter pilot in the head.. there are just so many priceless moments. If you've never played a PC version of Battlefield, this is something you NEED to experience. Now on with the various online rankings and unlocklables, something that makes these sorts of games very addictive and rewarding. Unfortunatley I don't have 100% positive things to say about it all, but keep in mind it is by no means bad and I only have niggles of comsplaint. Firstly, there are only 25 ranks and I am already the top one, which only requires 37000 points (I average 400-500 points per round). As you progress through the ranks you will be given credits you can use to unlock extra weapons and equipment. I personally had a problem where my ranks were displayed incorrectly, but I have not found anyone else with the same problem. Some of the unlockable stuff is essential and a lot of fun. There is an extra 'thing' you get when you reach the top rank which gives extra longevity but I will leave that for you to find out.On top of rank, there are 120 awards consisiting of trophies, patches and wildcards. You will be awarded these for all sorts of things and they vary tremendously in difficulty. About half of them are really easy to get, whilst the other half consist of some near impossible to achieve. It's dissapointing there is not a wider variety but they do give incentives to try different classes and such. One of the final great things about this game is the dog tag collection system, something I don't think I've seen in an online console game but deffinately something that's been long awaited. When you knife somebody, you collect their dogtags which depending on who you get will award you with a different number of bonus points. You can then look in a menu to see all the dog tags you've collected which shows the persons gamertag, timestamp, rank and quantity of tags. If you're anything like me, you will be frantically trying to sneak up on people and knife them.. it becomes very addictive.Bad Company is great. I really really like the online and I think it's as good or better than call of duty. Well, if not 'better' then a lot more fun with more variety. It's not perfect and currently there's a lot of niggles that are dampening my fun.. but if you like online games and especially if you're getting bored with COD4 and GTA4.. this is game to deffinately check out.

I got Bad Company having never played a battlefield game before, and not really knowing what to expect. However after playing a few hours I was having the most fun I have ever had online, and with an ok single player, I think this game is really worth the money.First things first, this game is really for it's online mode and I wouldn't buy it for the single player. In the single player you play as a new recruit into bad company, a small millitary squad thrown into dangerous situations. The single player is definetly playable and the 90% destructible enviroments really add to the overall experience. Another nice touch is you really get to know your team, who provide humorous (if not sometimes unnecessary)comments. However in comparison with COD4 this title really doesn't stand as a single player. It's too easy (due to the respawn system), too short and lacks the style and atmosphere to be a rival to the daddy of modern FPS's. An enjoyable and nice addition, but not worth buying the game for.The area where this game shines is online, and it has provided me with hours of mindless fun. There are now two modes, Gold Rush and the newly added Conquest mode. Each provide a rewarding gaming experience, however my favourite is conquest as it firmly pits team against team with the same objective. An important factor in this game is vehicles, which provides the game with more depth than COD4 online. There are jeeps, tanks, boats and helicopters to be taken advantage off, and all add something to the gameplay. However they are also nicely balanced out, jeeps are vunerable to general fire, tanks won't last against artillary strikes or a hit from an anti-tank missle, boats don't stand a chance against helicopters and helicopters can't fight the anti-air guns. It's just so fun to be running around and see a battle taking place at sea and in the air simultaneously. The destructible enviroments also really add something to the experience, it demands that you think differently about the way you take cover and when you run a tank through the side of a building, it really feels like you're in a tank. As you improve you move up the ranks, unlocking items and better guns. It's pretty easy to move up, and perhaps isn't as deep a ranking system as COD4, but it's still a nice touch. I've never had a problem getting into a game, nor have I suffered with any lag. The only negative thing I can think off is there seems to be very little talk between you and your teammates. Personally I can't think of anything worse than the game being ruined by over enthusiastic loud mouths who deem it necessary to report there every action in the game, but if you love chat, you won't find much here.I can't recommend this game enough for the online experience, and the single player is a nice bonus. This game wants you to blow things up, and have fun whilst doing it. I'm happy to oblige.

As a long Battlefield fan I went for the gold version of this game (the rank 25 weapons unlocked from the start and some video extras, plus a poster and a nice metal tin)The game is really good fun, the areas are huge (go for squad spawn unless you like running to the action), the frostbite engine is brilliant and means there really is no hiding place for the enemy. The game is pretty simple, you spawn in a chosen class but on a pre chosen side. You are either a defender, where you have to defend your gold chest(s), or an attacker where you have to get into the enemy base and destroy the chest(s) and take the gold. Sounds simple? Try it with snipers head shooting you, helicopters flying over head, tanks running you over, and people coming at you from behind with a knife. Both sides are equally fun to play, and when a base is taken the map expands and a new base to defend or attack becomes available. By the time the last base is open the map is huge! So, the attackers win by taking all the bases and gold, and the defenders win by killing the attackers. There is a bar at the top of the screen which depletes each time an attacker is killed, if the bar hits 0 the defenders win, if the attackers take a base the bar resets to 100%, clever idea me thinks :)Now for the down sides. The servers aren't running too well with a lot of 360 players (not sure about PS3) loosing connection or getting crazy lag. There are boosters already in the game. In a game people are getting around 600-700 points from games I've played, then I saw someone come out with 4,500 points. I'm not saying this player boosted, but he'd be a liar if he said he didn't. Boosting is when a player uses the game dynamics to gain huge points without doing much in game. I'm not going to give any examples as it ruins the game for the real players. Imagine it, you're on a team where everyone is in a corner boosting each other's points and you're facing the enemy on your own, doesnt make the game much fun. Hopefully these glitches and exploits will be fixed. And no planes!?! Boooooo! On the plus side, the game is really good fun (sometimes you'll end up screaming at the TV though when you get popped in the head), the graphics are cool and smooth, Frostbite really works and opens up the game more, joining a game is quick and as simple as pressing a button, the single player storyline is funny and well played out, and there is a content patch coming out soon which introduces the conquest mode :D More to come I hope. Oh, plus there is a multiplayer in game screenshot function which uploads the screenie to your profile page on the web, but not sure if it is available yet (?)

I downloaded the demo for this on Live a couple of weeks ago. Good, I thought, but is it worth a punt? The answer is yes, certainly.Firstly the graphics. I've been really impressed with pretty much everything I've seen here. No dodgy collision detection, everything that should do, looks and feels solid. The smoke effects are nice and the look of a town after you've been in with tanks or grenade launchers is quite something.Sound is just about as it needs to be. A rocket hitting near you will muffle sound, the occasional 'ping' as a bullet hits a barrel or metal frame nearby can make you jump if you're really concentrating, and you get a good feel for distance from the sounds away from your location. The only fault I can find with the control is the default forward / reverse when in vehicles. I'm just not feeling it, but these can be changed if you want to use the analogue stick. But this is where Battlefield, BC really works, and that's in the gameplay. The single play missions are huge, with enough save points that you don't find yourself cursing when you have to go back to one. The weapons all feel as if they carry some weight, and the array of hidden / collectable weapons add that something extra to ensure you don't feel the need to just race through the game. Another point I enjoy is that the game doesn't just 'give' everything to you. Sure, your targets points are laid out, but there are more routes than just the most direct. You can be as overtly gung ho as you like, or you can hang back and check out the scene. The set pieces are well put together and are pretty challenging to boot.Online, this again succeeds. Firstly is seems odd that there aren't more than the one game mode, but after a couple of plays, this doesn't matter (more game types will be available soon.) You play in a squad of one to four people. Points are awarded for different types of kill, defensive / offensive support you offer. You've tanks, buggies, armoured cars, helicopters, artillery and boats to use as you see fit, and there are a huge number of awards to be gained for everything from kill streaks to supporting your squad by healing them. Ranking up is done through accumulating points, and ranks give you unlock points to make more weapons and support options available to you. When I started writing this, I started mentioning COD4, as this appears to be the most obvious game to compare this with. I took the whole piece out. I don't think it's fair as there can't be much comparison. They're different games with very different features. All in all, this is a polished, fun, humorous and engaging game that you really should own.

Having been a big fan and player of Battlefield 2, there was simply no hesitation in buying Bad Company. And I wasn't disappointed. For once Battlefield have created a good single player environment with its own storyline which also helps you get to grips with the controls with everything playable in the game. The single player campaign is not particularly long and I think I completed it in a couple of days, but its still great fun and I wasn't disappointed since Battlefield always was a multiplayer game. And as for the multiplayer, well I haven't stopped playing it since I bought the game, which is saying something since I can get bored with some games very quickly. The choices of player/weapons is pretty much the same as BF2: Recon, Specialist, Support, Demolition, and Assault. You start off with very basic weapons but once you start ranking up (which thankfully is a lot faster than BF2) you have the option of unlocking better weapons. The vehicles are again fairly similar to BF2 - Tank, APC, hummers, buggies, helicopter - with the one exception of not having fixed wing aircraft. Some maps are fairly big, with some quite small, but its still bigger than most of the maps in COD4, which means you can actually flank your enemy instead of running straight into him as you seem to do in COD.If there was one negative aspect of the game, it is the lack of game types you can play. There is only one game type where you are either attacking or defending gold crates from your enemy. No longer is there a capture the flag type of game which BF2 was all about. I suppose you could say the good thing about the attacking/defending gold crates game is that everyone is forced into attacking one area at a time, which can make the game pretty intense at times. So all in all, this game is definitely worth the purchase, mostly because its great fun to play. Please don't listen to these people calling it 'the worst game they've ever played'. That is simply a load of rubbish. The type of people that call it crap are the type that get annoyed because you can't just chuck grenades everywhere and hope that you kill someone. The maps are too big for that. They are also the type that are too stupid to understand the concept of flanking. Contrary to what these people say about BF, you can't just jump into a tank and blast all round you. The fact that snipers now have laser designators means that it is now quite easy to destroy tanks.Trust me, if you like shooters, you'll like this.

....But of course not. Did you really expect EA to just copy COD4 and just re-sell it? No, I thought not.The Game has good points and bad points, which I will endeavour to go through. I have played the full single player campaign, and played multiplayer for about a week. So..- Destructible Terrain: Awesome. So much fun. Unlike COD, where you have perhaps 1 or 2 ways to take a compound/fortress etc, in this there are hundreds. Need to assault a structure but pinned down? Blow through the wall, and shock the guys inside. Hilarious. It's very useful on single player, where attacks become so much more sandbox, and quite good on multiplayer, where buildings are generally reduced to dust by the end.- AI,and Multiplayers: The AI on the single player is good. The game was quite challenging but not impossible on normal difficulty, which is excellent, as many games fail at this simple, requisite feature. Multiplayer is much more of a free for all, with little teamwork, but then unless you played with friends, neither was there on other battlefields.- Graphics: Very nice. Crisp, clear, cutscenes VERY impressive, and scenery nicely rendered.- Gameplay: I have to say a bit mindless. There are few levels, and it is a very short game but each level seems overly long, with huge distances to cover. Combat is a mix of the boring, where you constantly die, the interesting, staging your own assault pattern (courtesy of destructible terrain, and the mindless, cutting down swathes of enemies with ease, or repetitive. Multiplayer was quite quick to get into with most players being at a similar level, and I was racking up good scores a few matches in, which was nice.- Battlefield: There are little, small bits where you can feel the old battlefields shining through. As you climb up a hill you remember how it feels the same as Battlefield 2, the way enemies die and drop their kits, its still does feel like Battlefield! It is impressive how EA have managed to change the game dynamic but retain the old flavour.Unfortunately, that is really not enough. Could have been better, and I must say..... I'm going back to COD. Sorry EA.

First off, i love Battlefield games, ever since 1942, i loved them. And ever since i heard of this game, i knew it wasnt going to be a let down, and it wasnt. The graphics are brilliant, and the gameplay is incredible, with massive maps for you to explore, it is far better than COD4.The destructible enviroments are a great touch to the game, allowing you to play how you want to play. If you want to attack the guys in the buliding by storming it and going in guns blazing, you can. If you want to however attack them by blowing a hole in the wall right infront of them and fire off a quick few shots, you can.The mulitplayer is awesome, the unlock system for weapons is very good online.I played my first match and loved every second. It is a pity that one of the best weapons you can get you can only get by pre-ordering the game, a bit unfortunate for those who are still buying the game now.The story is imaginative, 4 rogue army dudes, looking for a mercs gold, it's all good. There are around 6 or 7 missions which sometimes get quite long and on the hard difficuilty can take a very long time. Now for the cons. I cnat think of many apart from 2. One is that your enemies must have incredibly good eyesight or they are incredibly tense, they see you if you are crouching in undergrowth, and you think your totally invisible. It can get quite annoying sometimes. The second mostly happens on the hard difficuilty. When i play, i die a few times (doesnt everyone ?) so when you die and you respawn you are back a few clicks away from where you were, 100% health, with the enemies you had already killed still dead. I dont know whever it's just me, but i feel that it sometimes it just takes the skill out of the game. A 4 year old could complete the story on hard eventually.Overall it is a brilliant game, full with little extras like you have to find cold crates scattered all across all the maps in single player, and collect all the weapons in the single player mode too. This game is one of the best games i have ever played and it is definately a game i will keep playing :D

DICE sure pulled it off with their Frostbite engine; to draw a gamer away from the addicting Call Of Duty Modern Warfare online and offline play takes something special in a game, and the Frostbite engine is the special something. The engine allows you, the gamer, to shape the battlefield, and fight how you want to, expending artillery and grenades or building yourself a cosy sniping position. This applies to both story mode and online, with up to 24 players tearing holes in walls and mowing down trees, destroying up to 90% of the numerous maps. The Gold Rush mode involves players defending or destroying Gold crates across free-roaming expansive maps, while Conquest mode works on the Domination (Capture the Flag-esque)mode featured in Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, featuring tanks, APC's and helicopters for the gamer to lay waste to the enemy with. The story is nothing spectacular in the way of originality; renegade U.S Marines (albeit Marines with a great sense of humour and relatable personalities) discover mercenary gold and go traipsing about Russia and neighbouring states during the middle of a war searching for fame and fortune. But the story isn't what will make you buy this game; it's the elaborate battles with groups of soldiers, use of exciting vehicles and the numerous weapon collectables that keep you trawling through levels while achievement hunters will search endlessly for gold crate pickups. Unfortunately, the story mode suffers a little from the varying difficulty, with the first levels being stupendously easy due to the health injector system, while the later levels incredibly difficult due to the insanely-sighted enemy troops, who can see you but not them. Still, these gripes aside, the characters online and off are rendered amazingly, the multiplayer rewarding you with a points system that lets you unlock whatever weapon you choose (ever really wanted the M14 on Call Of Duty and remembered you had 30 levels to go?), while the sheer destructibility of the maps make the game a joy. Mercenaries 2, eat your heart out!

Before I start, I'd like to make it very clear that this is the third time I have bought this game since release. Since I downloaded 'Battlefield 1943' on XBLA, it got me wanting to play this game again so I bought it again. Now then, any regular gamer will be looking at this game and wondering 'What makes this game any different to the countless other FPS's out there?'. Well, quite a lot as it happens. There is one big difference between this game and, for example, 'Call of Duty'. And that would be the destructible environments. Each assault rifle comes equipped with a grenade launcher, which can be used to put strategically placed holes inside buildings. You can even decimate bridges to block enemy transport. This is all powered by the Frostbite engine, which proves to be very useful and a very well designed part of this game. To be honest, there is nothing more satisfying than blowing a massive hole in the side of a wall, and killing an enemy behind it in the process. There will be plenty of moments like this if you play this game, all equally exciting as the one before it.The single-player in this game is nothing too brilliant, but it is acceptable. The multi-player, on the other hand, is extremely fun and addictive, if a little difficult at first. The variety of weaponry and equipment to use is wide and interesting (assualt rifles, snipers, shotguns, C4, trace gun etc.) and the system in which you unlock them is also different to the cliche 'XP progression' systems found in other shooters. The maps are all absolutely ENORMOUS and cater to all needs, whether you are a close quarter combat person or a long range sniper. The one bad thing I will say about this game is that the first time you play the multi-player, you are very likely to get absolutely slaughtered by other players. The learning curve of this game is marginally higher than other games, which may put off new players completely.

If cod 4 is a light infantry skirmish then bad company is a war. The single player is there for you to get to grips with the controls. Whilst the 1 player is ok the enemy a.i. are too good and there is a funny aspect like in bioshock where when you die you get respawn but the enemies you've killed previously stay dead. But none of that matters because its the online war that proves so fantastic that other little niggles are easilly ignored. 90% of the battlefield is destructable with tanks, mortars, guns, helicopters, grenades, noob tubes, RPG's, exploisives etc. Buildings and scenary fall under the destructive power of your arsenal. all the maps are amazing...with a mix of sniping, mid range mayhem and close range action (insert shot gun blast here). You choose your class of soilder from demolition, support, assault, sniper and speacialist and as you rank up you unlock more weopons and gadgets. This works very well as all weopons even the new ones you gain are well balanced. Theres no being shot in the face a la cod4 by a twit yet again with a RCP90 which just spews out ammo...this is well balanced carnage. It shows the brutality of war. Noobs will die...and die alot. There are issues with what a tank can roll over and what it can't, sometimes you respawn with your squad just to get smoked instantly. Also unlike cod4 the teamwork on battlefield can at times be non existant with most at times not talking over the headphones prefering a rambo esqe method. Theses are small niggles. What bad company does it does well and when your squad does start to bark orders to each other its fantastic. This is war and with the new free download over live which is like capture the flag the only way that cod4 can answer is by supplying some fantastic maps. Cod4 feels old compared to this. See you there!!! Join my squad, I'm rodent 28 (general of the army)I can be found usually with a shottie in my hand.

I have read some bizzare reviews of this game, including ones where they complain about grainy graphics ? I played it on a 40" Samsung LCD TV and the graphics blew me away. It looks fantastic and gives real immersion factor. The vistas are almost photo realistic at times. Being able to blow builings up is great fun and never gets tired. In places it would be impossible without your health injector that means if you take care you never die. But I don't like to be frustrtaed by my games with constant deaths so I really like this feature. The sound is awesome throughout, the weapons varied and excellent to use. The vehicles massive fun and the specialist items such as precision airstrikes and mortar strikes are brilliantly executed. The controls are excellent very smooth and intuitive, the game is just brilliant fun throughout.Your fellow soldiers are at times hilarious, I loved the storyline, loved some of the epic battles, loved the fear I felt whilst being chased across a golf course by a tank wondering how I was going to kill it, until I remembered my airstrike tool. This is my favourite xbox game yet, liked it more than COD4, Gears of War, etc and I haven't even been online with it yet.In some reviews I've read people complain that they can only blow parts of buildings up, well one day when the technology is there full devastation may be possible. Some say the story is lame, what? its a videogame not an oscar contender. Finally the demo doesn't really do the game justice, it's far far better than even the demo which I thought was good.I loved it, and if your a fan of shooters I think you will to.How many games where you have a flying sequence allow you to land your heli anywhere and get out and continue the fight on foot ? Not many I'd wager.Loved it loved it loved it, reallly hope there is a sequel or at least some other games using the fantastic game engine.

ill keep it short and sweetthis game rocks seriously, im not comparing it to anything else like cod or halo because its just sad, this game was created to be its own gamethe most stand out part of the game is the sound without a doubt, the guns and explosions sound exactly like they should, they sound so real, call of duty sounds are lets be honest s*** but this game takes it to a new level, you will want to try every single weapon just to see what they sound like (not a lie, you will)the story is good, a different take on a military shooter, no end of the world plot with a race against time to stop a nuke, its about a group of soldiers that instead of facing military discipline are transferred to a unit where instead they become cannon fodder, first in, last out in the most dangerous parts of the war, they then go on to uncover a plot and rescue a military dictator while running from the US army in the hunt for a famous mercenaries gold.the characters are great, unlike other games where you can go through the story without laughing, this game will surely make you laugh, there is sarge who is a tired veteran so close to retirement, pvt. haggard a red neck who likes explosions, pvt. sweetwater who is a wise cracking smart ass and then marlowe (you) who is i guess the more sensible of the groupthe story is fun, the sounds are great, graphics are great, you get a very big variety of weapons, you get to use armoured cars, tanks, attack choppers, dune boogeys (all in story) and even a caddy on a golf courseand a big part is when you fire a rocket, grenade launcher or shoot an explosive, it actually makes craters, and blows holes in walls, this is an awesome feature because if your trapped and need to make a quick door, easy done and it just adds to the realismthis game is a blast! try it out, So cheap now aswell

I will prety much buy any kind of war/shooter game, so when i saw this naturally i wanted to add it to my growing collectionPlaying through the single player mode took my breath away, it looks GREAT, and sounds just as good. The most noticable part being of course the destructible scenery, which took lots of my time once i found the mortar strike and a small village!!!what i love about bad company is the comedy that's added into the mix, the game knows its great, and adds an element of humour to the characters, which is really good. Then i decided to finally use my 1month xbox gold, and thought i would try out the multiplayer......And i have not stopped playing it since!!for months now, every second i get is spent online, i havent played many games online, (cod4, frontlines, pes etc) but i dont think there can be many that will beat this one at entertainment.Huge maps, filled with dozens of players shooting the hell out of each other with guns/grenades/tank/helicopters/sniper rifles, it really is a Fantastically fun game. I will admit there are times when i have a bad few rounds, and do shout at the TV, but when you have a good round, the satisfaction of sniping 20+ guys in a round, its feels sooo good. There are a few times when the connection is poor, and the screen is very jerky, and somewhat unplayable, and it is true that sometimes it takes quite a few rounds to kill someone, apart from that i can find nothing bad about this game. Its very hard, because as soon as you fire a round a dot will appear above you, meaning you cannot hide, plus when you do hide, someone can blow up your cover, its totally destrctible. The sheer size of the levels i think make it a reall killer! And with the new multiplayer mode, it really will appeal to everyone!Hope to see you onlineprofile name:Marktank86

One of the best looking and most fun shooters out at the moment (2009). The maps, graphics and the stunning character animation are some of the best I've ever seen, far better than Brothers in Arms: Hells highway, COD4 and COD5 (although I love the tactical element of Brothers, something sadly lacking in the COD series).Bad Company is the first time I've seen destructable environments done so well (Brothers thinks it's doing destructable maps, but a few wooden fences does not a destructable map make). Almost everything in Battlefield can be destroyed. If a sniper is taking pot shots at from an upstairs window across the street, fire a rocket grenade and blast a gaping hole in the wall to reveal his hiding place.Even better call in an air strike and obliterate the whole house, floor by floor. The game has a great sense of humour. When you're not blasting your way through villages and forests you might (if you choose) find youself and your three buddies tearing across a golf course, bullets wizzing past, all of you crammed into a tiny electric golf cart. There's also jeeps, assault vehicles, tanks and helicopters.I like COD4 multiplayer, but the maps are small and you will die within seconds of spawning. Battlefield is so much bigger and more open, so many ways to attack the enemy: plow straight at them in a tank, flank them on foot, or get behind them in a jeep. Conclusion: Battlefield has always been one of the best multiplayer shooters since it first appeared on the PC and Bad Company is yet another example of how it should be done online. Add to this the fact that they've pulled off a challenging and hugely entertaining single player campaign and this is a must buy for anyone who's into military shooters. Overall - superb.
