1942 is a particulary excellent game(especially if you own broadband)due to the sense of open space and cross section of vehicles.No more running around mazes,looking for stupid things to do,Instead the maze becomes finding the latest mods and patches to download.From starwars mods to modern day combat.The game is fast and furious online,and a little repetitive in single player mode(after 12 hrs maybe)There are plenty of easy tweak patches to use(available for free in the community)that strengthen the AI alot,making them more responsive to getting out of my tank or choppa when I want.There are subs,ships,tie fighters(if you mod it)and me 262s.(jets).There is soo much to choose from.The planes

In the 23 years that I have owned computers and played games this is the only title EVER that I have played consistently for over two years and still play.Not only is the game itself worth the investment for playability, graphics etc. but there's an abundance of free expansion packs available to extend its lifespan.If you enjoy playing FPS games then this is the Daddy - nothing else comes close (except perhaps Half-Life).Online or offline this is possibly the greatest game I have ever played in my computer enhanced life. You finish it, you swap sides and become the opposition. You finish it again, you play online. You get bored online (as if!), you download a mod and change the game content.

If you have problems running the game on windows 8.1 here is the solution,,step one: installan obvious step but you must install patches in a sequence(patch in sequence after install)battlefield_1942_patch_v1.6.19bf1942_patch_v1.61bbattlefield_1942_gamespy_patch_v1.61also bear in mind this game is not good with wide screen set your screen to lowest resoultion before launch if that does not work google for the wide screen patchanother step is to check your installed updates for kb3086255 (believe its this one)this blocks older games from working on newer operating systems which effects battlefield 1942If you need to find online severs then use game tracker and its app to connectRecommend the battlegroup42 mod aswell,

This is a superb game both graphically and for playability.It has a huge following with many 1000's of users playing online. There's also some incredible free mod expansions you can download for it like Desert Combat (modern warfare), End of Days (Vietnam combat - BFV is basically a copy of this but with tiny maps), Forgotten Hope (WWII realism), BF Pirates (Think Blackbeard - Capture enemy ships or blow them out of the water with the Canons etc), Galactic Conquest (StarWars mod - considered by many to be better than Lucusfilm offering - it's THAT good!).When BFV came out many BF1942 players bought it but then went back to playing BF1942 as the mods are so good and the map area sizes are so

This game must be good, Its over 2 years since its original release and I am a veteran BF2 player, I have never played this game before and am probably to alte to really absorb the greatness of this game. I am looking forward to playing it, As I say if i had brought it about one or two years ago it might have been more enjoyable but what the heck I love it. Just is wide vastness and its unincomprehensible Game play. As long as we get to fly the aircraft from the actual cotpit and not from the outside I am a happy gamer. I just hope EA havnt screwed it up like BF2. Lol

this is an exelent game, the graphics are overwhelming and give you that mighty WOW!!! which is more that could be said for the original bf1942. The weopons are sensational, i looved them. Therearenes of maps!! each with an exelent characteristic. if you were ever unsure about this game then just buy it! im telling you this is a must have, what an exelent way to complete the 1942 series! you can choose from an astounding variety of weopons, such as the all the weopons from the other 1942 games. Now if you havent quite got this in to your heads, JUST BUY IT!!

the beat game ever? 3rd one ive had? mymany grandchildren keep niken em? a really good single player? and multiplayer war game? except it's not? it makes you realize how deadly real war can be? friendly fire? death near every object? mines?helicopter gunships?jet's? you are reborn 15 seconds later "great"? but you realize when playing that inreal life? when your dead your dead? been playing it for 3 years? so watch out for "gereaticgeorge bye? enjoy your games? and have a nice day

My son plays Medal of Honour and Castle Wolfenstein, but I felt a bit mean when I bought this pack of three games already in the shadow of the new Vietnam saga. Actually the second and third are expansion packs.However, they are far from faded, and it is a real novelty to be able to leap into any vehicle or plane, or pick up any weapon on the battlefield.A month on, he just won't stop playing it.A good purchase.

This was a no-brainer purchase for me.I loved the game when it was originally released. Used to play games over the internet with my Dad. Now I'm in my mid 40's and he's in his mid 70's we're back doing it again!Simple graphics compared to modern games, but this one still has loads of appeal and internet 1 v 1 games are fantastic fun.What else can you buy for a fiver that gives so much enjoyment? :D

Buy this game, and make sure you download the Forgotten Hope mod. It makes the game even more realistic and a thousand times more enjoyable. This is my favourite game of all time purely due to its replay value. A must have for everyones collection and if you're a fan of world war II games you should already own a copy! If not, correct this great injustice!

i still have the game for years ,well ,i bought this game first time many many years ago when i had my windows xp and the first disc cracked so i had to go and buy the whole game again with amazon and i have played it on my windows 10 desktop and its brillianti know battlefield 1942 is a old game but it has been one of my all time fav games

I first played this game as a kid and I decided to revisit it. With this price tag, it turns out to be one of the best purchases I made.Fantastic gameplay makes this classic one of the best games ever made.Thoroughly recommend it for people that enjoy war games. This is an absolute must.

This is a bit retro now of course but anyone who is a fan of Battlefield 1943 on the X box will love this game. It was a pleasure to play on my laptop. 3 Games that will keep you going for hours.

Lots of play, plenty levels for a ridiculous price. Killed original cod when they both came out.Will play on almost anything even my old laptop.Well packaged next day delivery

Great game that is stil a must have now. Have spent many hours playing away on single player and multiplayer. A must have for the battlefield fan
