Is there no end to Barbie's talents? Beautiful Barbie now stars as Kara, a modern-day princess of whom transforms into crime-fighting superhero (Super Sparkle) with super powers after a magical butterfly kisses her. This pretty doll is Corinne, Kara's Cousin, and she wears her superhero outfit when she transforms into her alter ego Dark Sparkle. Kara's jealous, superhero nemesis. Although, I think Corinne would disagree with that one. In her own words:Hi! I'm Corinne, and I star in Barbie's latest movie as her jealous cousin and rival (we're best friends really). In our film, we both got kissed by a magical butterfly and develop superpowers that enable us to transform into our alter egos.I'm "Dark Sparkle" and Barbie plays Kara, a modern day princess who transforms into crime-fighting superhero "Super Sparkle". It's a super cool role and I love dressing up in my gorgeous purple and blue princess gown, it has such a long flowing skirt with a sparkling peplum. Draped on my shoulder is a stunning butterfly, which can be pressed to hear a kiss followed by a magical wand sound. Oh, and my glittery bodice flashes with dazzling coloured lightning bolts, too. I make the most adorable proper princess and I come with pretty princess accessories including a purple tiara with lightning bolt cutout and lots of ready made adventures to share with you. So hurry, I can't wait to join you to see what special powers you have! Thanks, Corrinne. Talking of Princesses, I found this doll had a brown-haired 'Kate Middleton' look about her, which is great. Her skirt is also removable, so you can change it for another large gown skirt if you have one. However, if there is one reason some girls may be a little disappointed is that underneath her skirt (where the sound comes from) she is made more like a robot and dressing her up would be very difficult as her legs are stiff and fixed into part of her 'robot' skirt. Her arms move up and down, but are not flexible either. Despite this, I do think she is beautiful and the story of her adventures will soon be out on DVD in February 2015, where you can find out more about Corinne and her superpowers. It is my personal choice to have dolls that are flexible and can be dressed up, but Corrinne is perfect for imaginative minds where girl power and superheroes rule the day. Beautiful!P.S. I've added some photos so you can how beautiful she is...

My daughter is three years and seven months old so at this point my experience with dolls is extremely limited. The produce page states that the doll is suitable for children over three years and I'd say that's accurate. In the way of moving and removable parts there's not a lot to say. The crown and the shoes all come off but are held on by the same thin clear plastic strands that hold the doll down in the packaging. The dress is also removable (so it can be cleaned if needed, I assume) but the doll hinges at the waist and has a large hold through the middle so is hardly anatomically correct (even for a doll from the Barbie range!)The doll's arms and legs move at the shoulders and hips respectively (I don't know why I specified that,it'd be a monster otherwise!) but they don't bend and the knees or elbows. Her head can also move up and down, and from side to side. There is a butterfly on the top of the dress and if you press it, you hear a kiss sound effect and a very shot burst of magical sounding music. There's really not a lot to it but when my daughter saw the doll and started playing with it she couldn't put it down.Another reviewer states that the doll doesn't offer much and children need more in the way of imaginative play but I have to disagree. Just because the doll doesn't do a lot doesn't make it boring. The only limitation lies with the child playing with it. My daughter has already told us that this doll is friends with Elsa (from Frozen) but can't ice skate and the two (dolls) have been having adventures together for hours. If a doll has countless sound effects, movements etc. then why does a child need to imagine anything?I used to dread the arrival of Barbie (or a doll like her) in the house but my daughter plays with her in the same way she plays with all her toys. They go on holidays, flying in spaceships, riding on horses etc. All imagined, of course. All in all I think this is a great toy and if you're after a doll for your child this seems like a really good choice.

Barbie and pals are here to cash in on the whole Marvel superheroes world with their own superhero film (to be released on dvd soon) … ok so I am getting cynical as I get older, but I guess it goes with the job. This is Corinne, cousin of Kara (aka Super Sparkle), and poor Corinne suffers a Spiderman type incident when she is “kissed” by a magical butterfly. This butterfly is no fly-by-night snacker but has decided to say with this new tasty friend. If you press this sparkling hitchhiker the lightning bolt on Corinne’s bodice flashes and you can hear the butterfly kissing (or biting) her – it’s quite disturbing and has only been pressed twice as the recipient.I like the dark haired Barbie as achange from the perpetually blonde doll (and we do have a number of these different hair coloured little ladies in our dolly family).I’m not sure if it is an illusion but the faces on these dolls seem to be more attractive than some of the older ones we have.If I could alter a couple of things then one would be to make the skirt a bit more flowy and less rigid looking because it (unfortunately) reminds me of the toilet roll cover that my great aunt had.The other would be the packaging – it is very pound shop in appearance and I have come to expect much more from Mattel and Barbie.Corinne is beautiful but the butterfly is now more of a charm or brooch decoration as (at the request of the little one) the battery has now been removed.

Great Barbie product, shows what an almost timeless girls toy can be updated every so often to breath a new fresh lease of life into the same basic concept. The packaging is exquisite coming in a beautifully presented box. Next the flawless beauty of the Barbie doll itself, which like any Barbie doll before it has always been a key feature and one that many young girls will adore when playing. The princess branding is genius thereby encapsulating two no doubt common dreams of many young girls of being as beautiful as Barbie and also being a princess. The doll is gorgeously costumed in fine clothes as well as well styled hair and make up features.Updated with technology the Barbie doll is able to utter a few words and the butterfly brooch flashes when pressed.Great doll toy well worth the money and young girls really will adore it. Highly recommend and would buy again. The quality of the toy as you would expect from such a a large and reputable toy manufacturer is excellent, with all the fine detail perfect in every way.

I guess everyone is familiar with Barbie, but maybe less familiar with the the movie "Barbie in Princess Power" on which this particular variant in based? Basically it is story of Kara who gets kissed by a magical butterfly which gives her super powers. This doll is Corrine (Kara's cousin) who also gets blessed with super powers and a key feature here is the lights and sound feature recreating the moment when Corinne gets kissed. There is a plastic butterfly fixed on her chest which when pressed makes a kissing sound followed by a magical twinkling noise, accompanied by a light up thunderbolt flash on her bodice. The doll itself is pretty much your standard Barbie figure, but in pretty purple & blue pastal colours.Clearly this is aimed at little girls and it is hard to imagine any young girl not being thrilled with this figure, assuming of course that they are a fan of Barbie to begin with, and if they weren't a big Barbie fan then why would you be considering buying this doll as a gift?

I got this for my 6 yo niece who is going through a Barbie phase at the moment. She's built like prettu much every other Barbie, they don't tend to differ all that much in body parts, I rather like that fact that you get Barbie's with dark hair now, when I was a child Barbie only ever came in blonde and as a brunette, it always made me feel substandard.Corinne Barbie has been released to coincide with the new barbie film, something that I'm sure will be on repeat in my nieces house by now! She had commented at Christmas that she wanted a Barbie that did something. I'm not sure this will count but if you press the butterfly on her shoulder then you hear a kiss noise and a short burst of music then the bodice of the dress lights up with a lightening bolt, from what I can gather in the film this signifies that she's got magical powers. My niece thinks this is amazing and would be incredibly upset were I to give it any less than 5 stars

It's a refreshing change to add a brunette Barbie to the collection, so that's the first win. Barbies have remained in a similar style for quite a while, with a myriad of costume changes and ever growing selection of houses and accessories, so the 'Princess Power' is another refreshing angle. With a little click on her butterfly accessory she plays a small jingle (which is not a cheap and annoying sound, but a deeper more quality sound) and a mwah kiss. It's cheesy, but Barbie has been smooching lots this week. The cat is not so impressed. The tiara is removable so her hair can be brushed, ponytailed etc. She does not stand up unassisted though, so this particular Princess tends to loll around somewhat. The colour scheme is a very elegant mix of purple and light blue, which is brought to life with the flashing LED lights in her bodice.A great Barbie doll at add to the collection and it's great that Mattel include the batteries.

How much? At the time of writing this review this doll is £22.99. That is why I have knocked a star off it.It will require a LR44 battery when the one supplied runs out. Ok, so they are only a matter of pence and available from Amazon. Now for the doll. As part of the Barbie merchandise range to accompany the new movie/dvd, Corinne will add another level of playtime enjoyment if used with Barbie Princess Power as any girl over 3 years old will love to play with her/them. Her bodice lights up and she makes a kissing sound when her flower is pressed. Her clothes are interchangeable with Barbie... boys could have great fun annoying their sisters by dressing them in Action Man clobber (if they fit).Seriously,as the doll is made by Mattel, the quality is very good and fairly robust.

My nine year old was thrilled to receive this doll. It comes packaged beautifully with a hole in the box so you can try the doll out. When you press the butterfly necklace she blows a very realistic sounding kiss. She has gorgeous hair and my daughter particulary liked her face and said she looked different to her other Barbies. Her top half is made of her dress so you can't remove it. You can remove her dress bottom but oddly she has a plastic skirt underneath which her legs are attached to. You won't be able to dress her in normal Barbie clothes. Her legs are rigid too and she only bends in the middle at the waist. This would annoy me but my daughter is happy enough.Just bare this in mind if you have a child who finds rigid dolls annoying.

Every three year old girls dream come true, presented with this bright and enticing box our friends daughter loved this doll straight away. The packaging cleverly allows for a demo of the dolls unique feature, which with bright lights and a magical sound effect brought even more excitement.Unboxing was quick and easy and Barbie was quickly at home in Barbie's big glam pink camper van.As a cynic I would say beyond the light up dress and sound effect there is very little too it, but I guess that's because I'm a boy and it's all about transformers for me.Needless to say it's not my opinion that counts in this matter and the little girl in question was over moon with this doll.

This is a really interesting Barbie doll, different from any I have seen before. The dress has a button attached and when you press the button it makes a kiss sound and the lightning bolts flash. It looks nice and feels as well made as ever.Having brown hair the doll does not look the same as other barbies, but she still looks gorgeous! I would recommend this for any child that loves to play with dolls, it is really very pretty and the added features make it much more fun!

this beautiful Barbie Princess Power Corinne Doll is a great addition to the Barbie family. My granddaughter will love it as an addition to her Barbie collection. The light up function is really a great and lovely addition and will inspire little ones to use their imaginations. The brown hair is silky and smooth making her, in my opinion, more realistic. Barbie has been going for years and with pretty dolls like the" Princess Power Corinne" it will last for many more.

My daughter loves Barbie and this has taken pride of place in her collection. I am sure the bright lights and the sound adds to the novelty value but it is a novelty that will probably soon wear off and it will be played without the sounds or the lights. Certainly not cheap but for anyone that loves Barbie, this is a great gift. It is a beautiful doll.

29.1.2015

Princess Corinne is a lovely looking doll well presented in a nice display box, complete with tiara and a beautiful gown not to mention lightning power! (you get lightning flashes when you press the butterfly brooch). It's nice to see a brunette 'barbie' doll for a change and the girls love her, so what's not to like! A winner for any young girl.

13.2.2015

The lights and sounds with this barbie really differentiate it and really add to the age old barbie formula. My daughter loves it and really enjoys not just playing with it but also setting it in 'different poses' around her room. The usual Barbie quality and excellent packaging add to it making a great gift for young girls.
