I was looking for an Arduino MEGA R3 or clone when I came across this product claiming to be a genuine Arduino at clone prices. So I ordered, the reviews were good and I didn't mind a clone, and if it was a genuine Arduino from Italy...Arrived today in a plain brown box with my address and telephone number! on the front. The circuit board inside looked like an Arduino MEGA 2560 R3 and was sealed in an anti-static bag; but no genuine Arduino box as shown in one of the pictures.I have taken a picture of the front and back and uploaded them so you can judge the quality and if you think it is genuine. In terms of build there are a few slightly wonky components but generally looks well made.I have a (Maplin-bought and so presumably genuine)Arduino UNO R3 and an Arduino Yun (which I do not believe has been cloned yet - 1/2014) for comparison. My conclusion is that this product seems to use a different font that those I believe to be genuine - but I am no expert on Arduino fonts. What about function. Powered it up and the LED attached to pin 13 started to blink - but at a faster rate than I have observed on my other Arduino boards. It accepted a modified version of the Blink sketch without issue. The main reason for buying this is that I am running a clone Ethernet shield (which I am very happy with) on the UNO and I just needed more memory. Swapped the shield over from the UNO to the MEGA 2560 and everything works as expected.I haven't and wont test every pin, but this microprocessor can expect to be live for a good few months as a web server so I'll report back later one way or the other.Just for clarity I am not associated with this company, Arduino or any one else who sells microprocessor boards - it's just a hobby.Update: It has been live as a webserver from about two weeks after it arrived with little issue. Quite happy.

Arduino microcontoller boards have become extremely popular within the last few years, mainly because they are easy to use straight out of the box. This Arduino Mega 2560 R3 version is particularly useful if you require lots of I/O (input/output) pins which have multi-function uses.I've recently used one of these boards in an application which needed to simultaneously-control the speed of eight fans using PWM. Eight analogue pins were configured to read the wiper voltages from eight potentiometers. Each potentiometer would control the speed of a corresponding fan. Eight pins were configured as PWM outputs, each being connected to a STP36NF06L MOSFET used to directly drive each fan.In addition to controlling these fans, it was also a requirement to transmit/receive serial data. This is a real-time example where of the microcontroller used has to be able to keep pace with the task required of it. This board had no problems in this respect.Coding of the program was made easier due the comprehensive library functions available. Configuring the Arduino Mega board to work with MS Windows (ver. 7 in my case) was straight forward, with the drivers just simply loading and working first time.To sum up, this is useful microcontroller board for interfacing LCD displays, keypads, motors (via, shields or MOSFETS) and driving LEDS etc. - typically when you require quite a number of input/output pins without using additional I/O chips.

As far as I can tell this is a 'genuine' R3 Arduino board in an 'official' box and mounted correctly on a clear plastic plate.I need good A/D performance for my application, so having a board that fully meets the ARDUINO MEGA 2560 R3 specifications is important to me. Almost all the R3 clones you can get at a significantly cheaper price do not have the components fitted that are supposed to decouple noise from the ADC Vcc line (pin 100). Clones usually have AVCC connected directly to VCC in order to save cost as those components are not 'essential' for correct operation. If they are missing and you want good A/D quantising noise rejection it requires some VERY careful micro-soldering to add them. This board has those components fitted.

Good product if you're starting out on Arduino. I've had it for quite a while and did some interesting projects with it. I needed the extra I/O ports it gives.Just a note to other buyers though: This is a genuine Arduino board, but remember that Arduino is open source hardware, and the base components are cheap (even though this is expensive). There are Hong Kong retailers that assemble the same thing for a much cheaper price. I've had one that's 1/4th of the price and works just as well. You could even assemble it yourself if you'd like. This is a good product. If you don't want to try your luck, like I did, get this one, but keep in mind you can get better deals.

I was unsure when i ordered this item that it was likely a scam or a B grade product or even a clone but no, i ordered it on the 18th of dec and as sure as claimed by amazon it turned up on the 21st, I opened the package and i was delighted to see it was sealed not taped in an antistatic bag, also in the package was a usb lead.Excitedly i opened it and inspected it, it IS the original Arduino Mega 2560 r3 so still not being sure i put it through every pin on the device and it works 100%, i am so happy with this device and i highly recommend this company, an absolutely gold find .. thank you.

Arduino is an excellent board. In theme electronic monitoring or you can use it in any way. Being open software and hardware you have many options and projects to do. There are also many compatible sensors. This allows knowing the basics of electronics, you can make your montages and dedicate to the control part, or Arduino programming language, a language, certainly very easy and intuitiveIt's the best board I've ever had, with many input and output both digital and pwm. Also connects with Matlab and Simulink program in STATEFLOW or, which also makes it pretty funny

NOTE: If you want a "genuino" Arduino, be sure to order from Mp3Car Store. This is great! A genuine Arduino Mega for only $28! The Arduino Mega is perfect if you've run out of program storage or IO pins on your Uno (or you just want more because you can). To test if yours is genuine, look at the color of the board (should be teal), the color of the voltage regulator (should be gold), the font (it was custom designed and not available for download), the text on the back, and the map of Italy. Many counterfeits don't put much effort into the text or the map.

Arduino seems to be where it is at for development platforms these days and I am keen to experiment with it, so I put this on my wish list. It arrived fine, however be aware that is it just the circuit board (in an anti-static bag) and the required USB cable, in a paper envelope. I have no problem with that, as there are many resources on the internet. However if you are looking for a kit with instructions or more packaging, perhaps there are other options.

I got two these guys and have not run into issues so far. The board that I received is from kjdElectronics. For those saying that it is not genuine, this is an authentic arduino.org product. The company had a dispute and split into arduino.cc and arduino.org. The only difference so far is in the position of the reset button which is at the top left corner. Honestly, I found this more convenient that the other.

I was worried this was a crappy knockoff given the price difference with the one on Adafruit. To the point that I ordered one from Adafruit also, just to be sure.Turns out I had it backwards. This one is a 100% genuine, and it comes with really handy acrylic backplate thing so you're not constantly worried about shorting something out, which the Adafruit one lacked despite being more expensive.

Ah, an old friend. I love these boards. They are great to use. They can be a little expensive at first sight but they come with lots of IO & fair amount of muscle. I've just done about 4 projects using these. Simple to use. Free development environment downloadable from the Arduino website. The language is C & the function set seems pretty good for such a small board.

Had to return the first one I bought from FENG GANG because it was a counterfeit board. Repurchased through Mp3Car Store and received a genuine Arduino.org board. While I prefer Arduino.cc, it's the same exact board but the reset switch is in a different location, so if you have an enclosure, you might have to modify it.

Only recently getting on the Arduino bandwagon, getting the mega was an upgrade from my Uno.Needed for extra inputs and interrupts.Arduinos are easy to get up and running quickly and are perfect for tinkering. The Mega is perfect for everything.Useful sites to keep an eye on for help.Arduino, Adafruit, Sparkfun

This does what is says on the tin.Went to the [...] website, Downloaded the drivers and examples. Followed the install instructions and then uploaded a sketch (Blink).15 mins from opening the box to uploading an example to test the board. This is my first Arduino board and it looks like fun already.

i needed a 100% genuine Arduino Mega 2560 for testing. every once in a while you just need a baseline for something. the board works, it does exactly what it is supposed to do, and if something works on this board and doesn't work on a clone, i know the clone has a problem. that's why i bought it.
