Well really just a cheap Pi 3 with the minimum of extras.I went looking for a Pi Zero and Amazon was out of stock but while looking I spotted this PI 3 Model A+. Its a little larger in size but for my BitTorrent/Samba Server project it had some great advantages.Firstly when I bought it it was cheaper than the Pi Zero, second it has 5GHz Wireless which the Pi Zero doesn't and its much faster than the Pi Zero. OK so its a little larger but its still way smaller than my Pi 4.The cream on the Pi has to be that all I needed to do to move the project over to this Pi from my Pi 4 (4GB version) to this Pi was slide out the micro SD card on the Pi 4 and into the Pi 3 and on first boot my server was up and running again.Headless this Pi runs happily on a 1Amp (1,000mA)power supply, I've tried a whole range of them that I have and they all work but that seems to be the limit because even plugging in a keyboard (max 100mA draw) will freeze the device up.EDIT> After a couple of weeks this Pi failed :-(But returning was easy and just ordered another one :-)#Will update if I have any problems with the replacement.

Versatile piece of kit for anyone exploring electronics and coding. Lots of starter kits available. I have used my latest purchase as a kids jukebox to play music when an rfid card is scanned using an rfid module I bought separately.Be aware that it doesn’t have the same amount of RAM and ports as the B+, so check your requirements carefully. I use a usb hub when not using headless.Wouldn’t recommend as an everyday computer. Browsing is a little slow but great for fun projects.

Working beautifully with octopi (octoprint), I added a cheap case I also got from Amazon and fitted a small fan to the top, I also added a USB hub to give me the extra port I needed for a WebCam, I used a MP1584 to drop the 12v from the printers power supply to 5v that the PI needs,.Check out the photo I added of the resource manager while printing to see The resources used and how much headroom you have.

I purchased this as the basis for a smart mirror I am building...It's size made it perfect for what I wanted..I do find these a little pricier than some other places but the quick delivery was what persuaded me..You do need to know what you are doing with these little computers but it's not difficult to learn. It's a cracking little unit, would have got 5*s if the price had been that little bit lower...

although less mem than the 3b its working perfectly for my use on an artillery x1 and octoprint with a camera, advantage of working with 5 and 2.4 wifi means im not worried i cant hardwire to the network, lack of usb connectors may put some off as will the less mem of its bigger brother, nice small footprint

I've used first gen pi's for projects since they first arrived. I wanted a media centre for the lounge and built one with an old model b+ but Kodi was a bit jerky. I then saw the 3 a pi at £22 and £3.19 for the case. I now have an excellent media centre.

I was so amazed at the price of this which is less powerful than the 4B+ but still is fantastic for project work. It was little more than the cost of the Zero WH but has the much better processor. I've recommended this to everyone since

Fab little computer board, easy to use. I have put octiprint with 5mp camera on it. Easy to set up remote control on windows with vnc viewer and control it from there. It's not the most powerful of them all but good for the job!

Does what it says on the tin, but I have come to find the single USB port annoying. Ended up having to buy a hub to plug in a mouse and keyboard at the same time. Would probably consider a B next time.

Excellent as an imbedded processor with audio and HD video capability plus the very useful gpio connection. I used it to make a miniature push-button video player for digital signage applications.

Perfect for when an ethernet connection is not required as it has easily configurable WiFi. Along with a good, speedy, CPU and enough RAM to run Volumio with gusto.

I use it as a media player in my van running off a small solar panel. Unfortunately my first one stopped working so got another one. Probably my fault ?

Got mine running motion eye OS with 5 rtsp streams attached, takes some tweaking motion eye but once set this thing just does it's job. Spot on

Bought this to add to my MotionEyeOs setup, work perfectly despite not having an ethernet port to configure the MEOS setup.
