So far so good. It is working and yes it is a little fiddly and tight. I have only just this minute fitted it to my processor so have not really tested it properly. It took me a minute to install, I cannot go into too much detail, about how I installed it, as it just clipped in.Lots of people were saying how tight, it is to fit and how easy it is to break, blooming heck, they must have been treading on it for this to break. It is solid and so far is doing what I want it to do, keep my processor cool. I only bought this to see what everyone was piping on about and I'm pleased with it.The postman could not fit it in my letter box, so have just gone up to collect it, about half hour ago, from post office depot.(Continued review below)Have tested this cooler out, after cleaning my computer out before putting this fan in, all my on board fans had dust bunnies on them, so took them out and gave them a thorough cleaning and dumped a filter which was absolutely useless in preventing my computer from warming up, whilst playing GTA 5. Now that this cooler is in, it does not warm up at all, usually, when you run your hand over the top of your computer, you feel heat coming out, but with this cooler, it seems to be keeping it cooler.I found out that actually, the heat was not my processor at all, it was my graphic card warming up, so am using the graphic card fan whilst playing GTA 5. I took off the two side case fans, which were in my opinion a waste of time, as all they were doing was blowing hot air around. I have turned my back case fan around so it is acting as a reverse vacuum, blowing all the air out of the back and the one on the top of my case, blowing it out of the top. I highly recommend that everyone who gets this cooler or any other cooler, clean their computer out of the dreaded dust Bunnies, that linger and can cause over heating, by acting as an insulation and then and only then, will you notice any difference. Plus the electric bill will go down.A lot of the reviews on this cooler, have been very negative, but for me it is working brilliantly. So I highly recommend this cooler.

I recently upgraded my computer and the i7 CPU came with Intel's stock fan, which I didn't mind having used them previously, but this time round I was not happy with the fan at all. The noise level was crazy high from what I had been used to and the fan just seem to intermittently make an awful whirring sound too, even when running on silent, so I decided to upgrade the fan to the Arctic 12 LP and it's the best decision I could have made. The fan was very easy to install, took me about 5 minutes in total to do and comes with pre-applied thermal paste as well, making it even easier and as soon as I switched my PC back on I could instantly notice the difference. The Arctic fan is so much quieter than the Intel one and already having 2 other Arctic fans installed as my case fans, it's just looks good now with everything matching.I let the fans run for a while and then checked the temperatures in the Bios and the CPU is running at least 6 degrees lower than with the Intel fan and it's still extremely quite, with the running speed set to normal instead of silent. I haven't tested it yet with any games, but I'm 100% more confident now with this fan installed than I would have been using the Intel one.The Arctic 12 LP is an amazing purchase and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade.

This if my first ever upgrade of a heatsink/fan from stock. Outside of maybe a hard drive or something, everything else in my computer has been slowly replaced over the years from and old prebuilt hp type computer. New case, card, ram, power supply, etc. I always lived with the noise thinking it was just part of having a faster computer since i didn't know any different. I lived with this ridiculous noise for over a year only because i assumed it was my video card. After i finally downloaded a Db app, i realized how cheap a fix this might actually be.All i can say is I am amazed by the noise level difference. I realize this review is worthless for anyone who already owns any aftermarket heatsink/fan,but if noise is at all an issue for you and you have a stock cpu cooler I think this is a must buy. For less than $10 my living room is silent once again. Dbs dropped from mid 70s to low 50s when i held my phone right in the case. Im sure a lot of this has to do with background noise, but just notice the difference of 20 Dbs! Pretty awesome. I rarely review anything, especially cheap items, but I wish i had read a review for this a year ago, so here is mine.

I like the brand and have purchased there product before I had a issue the first one that turned up I plugged it in and turn on my tower to find the fan not spinning i loaded some software to tell me pc temps and wait for it to get up to temp the fan still didn't spin so I shut it down and test both header with both my case fan and my old cpu fan to found they both work I ordered a replacement and amazon sent me another one the next day which was a Sunday so big thanks to to them going the extra mile I got the replacement plug it in and it works I replaced the original one that game with the pc cus it was a unbranded cooler that had a noisy cpu fan and small heat sink the replacement droppedmy cpu temps by 12 degrees c big improvement and is a lot quieter really good cpu cooler just be awere all way make sure it works before putting you case sides on and make sure when you turn on your pc all your fans spin up and slow down. i hope the company test all cpu cooler fans I just had one that slip through the cracks as there product are good if anyone wants to know I'm running a i3 7th gen and I'll add a photo of the cpu cooler that came with the pc

Alpine 12 CO - Initial impressions were not great. The mount is flimsy and mounting was not very firm. I do this stuff a lot and it feels about the same as a stock cooler. Line it up well and it will probably clip in. If you have a problem, lift the black pins, push down on the rim of the white part with a screwdriver. The white clips snap into the holes, then you can the lock off. My first try on a i5 2400 ran idle at about 35 degrees, increasing to highs of 80 under Intel's Extreme Tuner. Later, I swapped motherboards, cleaned up and fitted with NT-H1 paste. I think the first setup was not fully in contact, leading to poor performance. Now, with a mild overclock the temp sits close to 30 at idle, and raises to about 62 under test. The stock cooler was much worse, hitting close to 90. Sound is good, you can hear it once it winds up but most the time it is very quiet. The cpu fan lead is long with no clips unlike the stock cooler which may be a little untidy. This and the mounting cost one star, but it is very cheap. So, good cheap cooler, but take care mounting. The screwdriver trick works, where brute force would fail.

After installing, it's not *completely* silent, but it's at least a half if not a third as loud as my stock CPU fan. For the price, I'm not sure why I waited so long to get one of these for my computer. It's a no-brainer.What I liked most about this fan compared to alternatives:-Small size that fit in my smaller cases (many fans were too tall to fit in my case).-Installation did not require removal of the motherboard to install mounting brackets. I was swapping out fans and didn't want to have to disassemble everything, and installation was quick and easy.-Price is hard to beat. Many commented on feeling like they had to apply too much pressure to get it secured. My first attempt,I hooked one of the sides in the clamp and then tried to press down the other side. I was applying a lot of pressure and it wasn't seating. The reason was that the bottom of the heat sink was catching on the mounting bracket because it was coming down on an angle. What I found you have to do is line up the fan to the brackets and then press down EVENLY on both sides, and it easily snaps into place.

Please note that this cooler is only rated for TDP of 45 watts. So it's not supposed to be used on a Ryzen 5 2600. However I decided to take a chance and give it a shot. My Ryzen 5 2600 quickly went up to 95 degrees and throttled to remain relevant. However this is because I didn't have any fans in the case. As a result it heated up the motherboard and the M.2 NVME too. However I have since put a single case fan in, and it only goes at 400RPM so it's dead silent, but it's getting some airflow through the case, and it has since dropped to about 75-80 degrees. Which while warm, is perfectly fine and within operating temperatures. Note this is while gaming on the Witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey, not idle (or full load). Results will definitely vary. But I'd say if you have even some airflow through your case, then this is a great CPU cooler due to its silence (so long as you don't mind its appearance).

This thing is very quite, compare with the stock FX6300 cooler.Installation was very easy, I first connected the right clip (closer to PS where space was tight). I then used my finger to clip in the left plastic clip, no screwdriver required.Running this one a:http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-DDR3-Micro-Motherboard-GA-78LMT-USB3/dp/B009FC3YJ8/ref=pd_sim_147_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=03QSJRGC2F85J9Z6SC0N&dpID=51WPgjfTaOL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_Recommend connecting the power header pin before installing it. It helped in my case because the power connector on the mobo. was in a tight spot.Spins a t 1800-2000 rpm, compared to 3400-3600 for the stock FX6300 cooler.CPU temp was at 56C with the stock cooler. The ARCTIC Alpine 64 dropped it to 42-44C. Both temps measured via BIOS at idle.Contact patch has good coverage for the CPU. Came with thermal past applied to it.

As the title suggests, I would consider this 100% noiseless in my htpc. The hard drives and other fan noise are louder than this thing, and that isn't saying much. My htpc is now pretty much at a whisper. The stock Rana 450 am3 cooler is noisey, and would get pretty whiney sounding when it would spin up under a load. I was running 3 cores at just about 46c idle, 50-55c load, and with this cooler I run close to the same temps now, about 44c idle - 50c load - but with the 4th core unlocked, which would raise the temperature with the stock cooler to around 50c idle 60c load, and get louder - making it not worth it. This arctic fan is silent.Install is disgustingly easy as well, took all of 10 seconds - no need for clip changes, etc. And no need to apply thermal paste! For $9 shipped with prime, this was a very, very good buy. HTPC Complete!

This cooler is fantastic for the price. Keeping a Phenom II X4 925 (2.8ghz) perfectly cool with the included thermal pad, which is made of MX2 according to the documentation, which is super impressive at this price point. This machine runs 24*7 and has been for over a month now. The cooler is quiet, to the point that any mechanical hard drives you have will be significantly louder. Installation was easy, assuming you know what you are doing. It is somewhat difficult to remove however, due to no recess for a tool to slide into above the hooks like on most other coolers, but I consider that almost a non-issue given that removing your cooler is something most people will never want or need to do.Extremely pleased with this purchase. For less than 10 dollars I could not have asked for a better value, not even close.

I bought this to replace my intel stock cooler which was allowing my CPU to run to 100 degrees when playing games. This is a very good cooler for its price. Its much quieter than a stock fan and gives much better performance. However, although on paper its easy to install I actually had some trouble with it. The push pins didn't seem to all want to click down, only about 2 did. The other 2 went down but didn't click. I had to rotate the cooler trying different positions but I still couldn't get all 4 pins to lock. You may need to remove your motherboard when installing the cooler to make sure all the pins go through. I just pushed all the pins down as hard as I dared and the cooler stayed in place, although as mentioned only 2 pins clicked. My CPU (i5-6500) now runs at 40 degrees idle and 65 degrees under load

I had an old i7-2700k and when I moved it into another case the artic freezer pro 13 snapped off the mounting brackets. I was only using it as a TV theatre computer so bought this cheap replacement. Well the idles actually went down, old freezer pro though like 7 years old and I never replaced the thermal compund on it. I did clean case a lot as well. Overall It is quiet enough and works well. I did 1 hour of prime 95 (I know it is not long enough but it was long enough for me to know I would never have issues at all given my work load on it) and it maxed at 70 degress but I do have excellent air flow in case and I do not have a powerful graphics card in it.Installation took me 10 seconds,I literally just pushed down the 4 pegs into the holes done then plugged fan in. I was like well that was easy enough.

Installing this fan is very easy. I used this fan to replace the stock cooler on an AMD Phenom II X4 955 processor on my 5-year-old computer. My old fan was getting really buzzy, and sometimes wouldn't spin up, despite my attempts to remove any obstructions. This fan is much quieter, and was a perfect and inexpensive replacement!Be careful how you plug it into your motherboard though. This fan has a 4-pin plug, but is compatible with 3-pin plugs as well. Make sure you insert it firmly according to the notches on the plug! If you don't, you might get a CPU fan failure message when you turn your computer back on, even if the fan spins up.The fan also comes with thermal paste already applied,so there's no need to buy extra paste for this unless you think you need to.

bought to replace a stock Intel cooler that was getting noisy.not much roof between cpu mount and memory chips.price seemed OK ( but had to add bits to get free delivery) just over £20.00 total.Removing old unit and cleaning was easy.fitting this unit should have been simply locate pins in slots and press each down to lock,BUT pre-applied thermal paste was way too thick, could get any three pins locked but not 4th,tried three times, removing paste from cpu each time until it finally clicked all 4 pins in.no other problems, cooling results are great around 32 degrees C most of the time, never gone over 60 degrees C after playing games for two or three hours, very happy, less noise than stock heat sink too.ps .later found same unit for half amazon price.

On my FX 6300 I get temperatures of 29°C at idle and 52°C at around 50-65% CPU usage which is totally fine for me. I've not done any stress testing but I'm sure it won't exceed a temperature which would cause an auto shutdown. Installation was fairly easy and doesn't block any ram slots unlike the ARTIC Cooling Alpine 64 Pro I have. But the main reason I bought this cooler because of the noise. It's far from silent but it is much quieter than the stock cooler and also a bit quieter than the ARTIC Cooling Alpine 64 Pro I have on another CPU. I only recommed this cooler if you're looking for a cheap solution the stock cooler's noise,I wouldn't feel safe overclocking with this cooler especially if you're going to need to change the voltages.
