This is a quiet fan especially when compared with the standard fan that came with my Intel CPU. It now also runs significantly cooler than before. The original fan mount had become unreliable allowing the heatsink to lose full contact with the CPU. The Arctic fan has a better mounting system. First you attach two mount parts to the motherboard then you use 4 screws to attach the fan and hold it in place. To be honest it's a little bit more complicated than the standard fitting but when done correctly feels much more secure. If you need a new fan or when putting a new system together this fan is a good bet and being low profile will fit most regular size cases.

Very good cooler. I'm overclocking my cpu and it keeps cool under high preasure tests and usage. Very good item.
