This is pretty good stuff. I had to use some generic white thermal compound while re-building my PC as I couldn't find my tube of trusty Arctic Silver 5. I thought it wouldn't be doing as good a job as some decent stuff, so I ordered this which came in a large 8g tube for less than 3.5g of AS5. 8g is enough for many CPU installations. I did my research and saw it's been reviewed professionally as being better than AS5 on a number of sites. While brand of thermal paste shouldn't make a huge difference (as long as you use something) it was immediately obvious that this had dropped CPU temperatures by about 5 degrees across the load range, compared to the generic paste. It might not sound like I lot,but I say if you notice a huge drop in CPU temperature just from changing paste, chances are what was on there before wasn't installed properly (or it had dried out as they can do with time).Installation is easy. I put a small vertical line of MX-2 on my Core i5 and tightened down the heatsink. The pressure will distribute it to the right places, so there's no need to spread it across the surface of the CPU.

This stuff came pre-applied with the copper Heat sink (FREEZER 7 Pro Rev.2) LGA1156 for my "Core i5 750" and (MSI P55-GD65 Motherboard). After burning in, I've successfully managed to get unbelievably low temps I've never seen before, in 12 years PC building.Ok, the new P55 LGA1156 Mobo, has also a lot to do with it, however, Ive trawelled the internet, and cannot seem to find anyone else with temps even close to mine.Used a Corsair HX 850w PSU, and HAF 922 Case with 4 FANS - 2 intake, and 2 output. (HAF) high air flow.Temps with Real Temp 3.40 graph software, Min (idle) 12c, and under load 32c - also aggressively load test 42c. with "Everest aggressive benchmark"!...(all at stock 2.66Ghz,with Turbo enabled at 3.2Ghz)- 95w power draw (i5 750).So, I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending MX-2 Paste... after burning in, the temps came down a little more,( which was cool ), pardon the pun.. lol :DHonestly, this stuff is made in Switzerland by the same folks who make (Arctic Silver). (ARCTIC)Thanks for reading...

I ordered this product to do carry out some much needed TLC on my Dell XPS L502X. I hadn't changed the thermal paste since I bought my rig in 2012 so with CPU temperatures reaching 92 degrees Celsius whilst idling I purchased this last night suspecting the existing paste was in need of replacement.Along with performing some fundamental tasks such as using compressed air to clear the cobwebs and ensuring the fan was clear of any dust, I scraped off the old product and applied the MX-2. I have managed to reduce the overall core temperature to 55 degrees Celsius, an almost 40 degree reduction.I would implore anyone to give this a go if they are struggling with hot machines - at £4.99 this may bethe best purchase I have made in the last 6 years.

I have used several different brand's of Thermal Compound previously, many of which left much to be desired & some of which were extremely difficult to apply due to the consistency of the paste itself. I am however pleased to say that Arctic Thermal Compound is not one of these, as in addition to being good value, I had no problems with application and was able to apply a pea sized amount exactly where it needed to be, as opposed to making a mess. Once I re-assembled my laptop, the impact was instantaneous, running much cooler and in turn ensuring that the laptop's cooling fan, which had previously been on constantly, was running far less frequently. In short, a competitively priced, good all round mid-range compound.

I've been working in a laptop repair shop and I have my own laptop repair business. We've been using various lower-grade heating paste products at work, but we have switched to MX-2, and it surely makes the difference.I've been always using Arctic Silver AS5 for my own business, but due to cost-reasons, I've decided to try this paste instead, as AS5 comes only in 3g package and is much more expensive. Honestly, there's barely any difference between those two, judging by 3 months of use on my own PC's and on a couple of customer's machines. Considering the price difference, I'm going to stick to MX-2.

Somehow the clip holding the fan onto the Intel chip in my friend's PC had come detached. I used surgical spirit to clean up the surfaces of both the chip and the fan and used the syringe to squeeze one blob of the MX-2 thermal paste onto the chip. The only difficulty I had was in refitting the fan back onto the chip but that's not the fault of the paste. Even without paste it requires more pressure to re-fit the clip than I expected. The paste came sealed in its plastic packaging and there's plenty more left in the syringe. It was depatched and arrived promptly

Genuinely gobsmacked at how amazing this paste is! I have an XFX 7870 Tahiti Le that was hitting 103 degrees C while playing games like crysis 3 and Battlefield 4, so decided to open that bad boy up and clean it up a little. Bought this paste, cleaned the dried concrete that was used as thermal paste by xfx and used this stuff on it. Was told that it was just a hot card and changing the TIM won't help anything, turns out it reduced temps to 70 degrees MAX while on Crysis 3 and have yet to try BF4! Great purchase that's given new life to my good ol' 7870 xt!

It is a lot better to have a controllable amount of thermal paste than a pre-applied one. The solution does a really good job and keeps the CPU temperature to really good levels. I believe it went down from 47 C on idle when I checked in BIOS for the first time and the next time I saw it being close to 40 C when I checked it again after stress testing it with a game. With the game running, it went from 35-36 up to 42-46, basically the temperature range was between 36 and 46 when the game was running.

I used it when my laptop fan gave up (acer i7 cpu). Read online that if replacing fan you should also refresh the thermal paste. And I'm glad that I did as it is a lot of work opening the laptop and getting this done in one session is better. Also I have noticed that my laptop stays quite cooler then before and fan also stays at low rpm most of the timeAnother thing is that I've hardly used 2 drops, you don't need such a quantity unless you do this professionally

This thermal compound is extremely good quality, it has very high thermal conductance, almost as good as the MX-4 compound, and is a lot easier to work with than Arctic Silver 5 while being a lot cheaper than both of these alternatives. It is very tacky, has the advantage of not being electrically conductive, and seems to remain effective for a long time. I buy a lot of thermal compound and, for now, will be looking no further than Arctic MX-2

There are many different types of thermal paste out there, each one battling for every 0.1 degree celsius in heat dissappation, so I'd recommend reading some reviews before choosing one because sometimes paying more does not automatically equate to a better product.I went for the Artic MX2 because it strikes a good balance between performance, price and quality, and its suits my intended application on Playstation 3 and AMD chipsets.

This has very good cooling properties. No worries if some inadvertently ends up on the motherboard, as it is not electrically conductive. However it is designed not to run and this should not happen unless you are particularly clumsy. There is sufficient paste for 2-3 applications (pea size). The best paste that I have used to date and combined with CPU and case fans, is keeping my CPU at approx 30 Degrees Celsius at tick over.

Easy to use , took my cpu temperature down by around 8-10 degrees ( stock cooler ) , also used it on my gpu , once again lower temperature . Definitely recommend this product . Also it's always a good idea to re apply thermal paste once every year or two .I hadn't applied any to my gpu or cpu for around 3/4 years and there was literally only a small amount of paste left on the cpu and temps were starting to max out at 65 .

I chose this to use with my Xbox Slim using a Talismoon Whisper Slim Fan, before using the paste the fan was rather loud and heat dispersal was hot too, I applied the paste to the chip, re-assembled the Xbox and left it idle for a while to 'help set the paste' lol. After playing GTA V for a while I had noticed a big change in the temperature and noise of the fan, it was a lot cooler and quieter than it was before!

I have used MX-5 before and I was very pleased with it, after reading reviews saying that MX-2 is better I tried it......well I didnt notice any difference to be honest BUT I love Arctic paste, it is easy to apply and this WILL lower the temperatures of your CPU ( my 8350 with air cooling runs at 28c idle, 3c less after using this paste) So just choose which MX-? is cheapest at the time as prices vary a lot.
