After purchasing a Raspberry PI 4 4Gb, heatsink and accompanying fan, I realised I had run out of my trusty Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste. I initial looked up the NT-H1 and found it was just shy of £14 for 10g (03 JAN 2020) which I felt to be overpriced. Amazon recommend alternatives as it usually does with any search, leading me to stumble on to this product, Artic MX-4.Having not used this product before I did a bit of internet research comparing it to MX-2 (cheaper but apparently harder to clean and spread on a CPU) and NT-H1 respectively. Thus, the MX-2 was ruled out, since I do not have the steadiest of hands when performing DIY or during thermal paste application. Hence, if I needed to remove the paste,I wanted something which was quick and easy to do.The MX-4 was already leading as it was £7.99 for 8g in comparison to the NT-H1, so scoring well in the cost area. As for actual performance there is little in it, both achieve good results in online tests, which I believe are also subjective. As there are so many variables involved in carrying out accurate testing (such as room temperature and how hard the CPU is stressed). None the less I ordered the MX-4, using it on both my Raspberry PI 4 and I7 CPU. I decided to re-paste the I7 whilst I was at it and I have not seen any noticeable temperature differences. So, I consider this the best bang for buck premium thermal paste happily to substitute it for Noctua’s offering.

I bought a used T440p, which I noticed had its CPU cooling fan kick in high frequency, especially when scrolling up and down on Safari. CPU and the heat spreader had a generous amount of thermal grease applied, and it looked good, but wiped it off and applied my nothing-special thermal grease and put back in. No change; the fan kicked in just like before, at the same frequency. After doing a bit of online research, I found this and another thermal grease with almost cult-like followers.I just replaced the thermal grease with this MX-4 and ran the computer just like I usually do. I didn't measure the temperatures or run benchmarks or anything, but the fan kicks in less frequently, and particularly so at high speed. I can still hear the fan kicking in from time to time, but not often enough to irritate me when I work in a quiet room. The difference may not be as drastic as some depicted in their reviews, but appreciable. In my case, the previous situation was just a bit above my mild irritation threshold, so the benefit was worth it.

Ive used various different compounds over the years from various different brands. AS5, thermalgrizzly, Noctua, Coolermaster, gelid, thermalright etc and it comes down to a few different factors for me.Ease of application and performance.Firstly the price, 8G for £9 same day delivery (if you're on prime) 8G! thats a big old tube which is going to last you for some time to come! So its a good job this compound has a 8 year durability rating!Ease of application, whhether you're a spreader or a blob person this compound is easy to apply. It comes out of the syringe nicely and is easy to spread if thats you're kind of thing.Performance, MX4 has consistently been a go to choice for a large % of the PC modding population,I think mainly because of its price, ease of use and how well it performs. It (for me) performed better than thermal grizzly and noctua NTH2 (both of which are more expensive)Dont need to say much more other than this is the only thermal compound I am going to use from now on.

After looking around for other thermal paste I decided to go with this one being my heatsink and fan are of the same make. After cleaning and repasting and replaced the heatsink.I'm running AMD FX8350 with Sapphire R9 380 Nitro GFX Card and was hitting temperatures well a above 40c on idle. After putting everything back and running with new paste I left my PC on for at least 3 hours and never once rose above 31. Under some stress it only reached 34c. So to say I'm happy is an understatement.Installed an extra 4 120mm fans after to keep the temperature down as much as possible and now reaches around 25c on idle.Would recommend this to anyone who has cpu heat problems.

I bought it for my desktop processor (Ryzen 5 2600) and it works flawlessly, it gives me temperatures between 31.5 ºC to 35 ºC (88.7 ºF - 95ºF) while being on stand by and under regular usage Chrome, Spotify, MS Office, between 35.5 ºC to 38.5 ºC (95.9 ºF - 101.3 ºF), finally while playing it goes from 45 ºC to 55 ºC ( 113 ºF - 131 ºF).I was having higher temperatures when using a low-end thermal compound/OEM compound but whit this one was my best purchase.I'm using my computed in Bogotá, Colombia where the climatic temperatures of the city vary between 9 to 19 degrees Celsius so, I am more than happy with the performance. Thanks for this great product.

Just about top of the line stuff, AS5 is a good choice too, but you get barely 0.6W/mK in difference for almost double the price sometimes,And I have 8 GRAMS OF THE STUFF...I can redo my two GPU's and my CPU 4 times a year, for 6 years no doubt! To put it simply, I replaced my AS5 I haven't touched for over 5 years (negligent I know but I never pushed it until now) on my 4790k and I got a 3°C difference on startup,And a 15°C cooler difference after 8 minutes of Prime95... At OEM clocksSo yes, replacing thermal paste is a huge deal and should be done every year if you're into some intermediate overclocking.

I can only talk about short term use as its not been long since buying this product but i can say Ive used a lot of the tube i bought already due to replacing the thermal on 4 computers CPU's & GPU's. I had to troubleshoot a new PC recently so that involved removing the CPU and the cooler a few times and Ive still got a fair bit left from this 8G tube. The temps I am seeing so far seem to be really good compared to some pastes I've tried before, I will try to remember to update this in the future for a more detailed look on how it holds up in 6 months, oh I also did my Xbox, PS too.

With old games console devices being over 10years old, it was time to refresh the thermal paste.I did plenty of research and found this as a good balance for long life and good price point. The syringe screw lid and plunger action was good. I liked the rescrewable lif as it gave me confidence it won’t dry up if unused. The paste was a metallic gray with a thick consistency like gloop.Only time will tell, but touching the paste gives me confidence that this paste will last a good few years.Hard to recommend... time will tell, but good experience so far.

Not much to say really. Over the years i have used several types of thermal paste and Arctic stuff seems to be the best. Its not too thick or too runny, spreads easily, and does a decent job at cooling. Its not the cheapest thermal paste on the market or the most expensive (the cheapest stuff will not last {dries out quicker} or cool as well and the expensive liquid metal stuff will cost you around double what a tube of this cost).I hate the term bang for buck but that is basically what you get, decent performing at a reasonable price.

There's nothing to say really... It's MX-4, it's a good thermal paste and does exactly what it needs to. Just make sure that there's enough on the processor, for standard sized processors E.G Ryzen 3-7 and Intel 3-7 a large pea size should be enough to cover enough of the processor when putting a heatsink ontop or an AIO. if temperatures are too hot either 1. There's too little or 2. there's too much... you can't really go wrong just make sure to monitor temperatures after applying to ensure you don't overheat the CPU!

I specifically ordered the "2019 Edition" and did not get that. I only took off a star for that reason. I don't know if the older edition is better or worse.I used this on a Ryzen CPU and an Intel CPU. Both of those machines got new coolers as well, so I can't comment on how the thermal paste alone might have affected things. I did check the temperatures of all the cores. The paste seems to have spread well because the temperatures were always within a degree or two of each other. I'm looking forward to great things.

I bought this as my computer would often shut down when doing an intensive task such as rendering an HD video, and I suspected it was due to the old thermal paste. After removing what was left of the old stuff I applied this and so far have not had any problems at all. I must have rendered over 100 videos since and it's been smooth sailing through all of them as well as everything else. There has been no overheating or problems in sight, and no longer does my computer do it's impression of a jet engine.Great stuff!

Ordered it and received it the next day. i had to wait for a pc case to arrive before i could do anything else, when it did arrive i took the old paste off and put the new mx4 paste on between the CPU and tower heatsink. After getting everything together it now runs at 32'c instead of the regular 42'c. The case it came in was easy to work with, and a cut through one of those round sticky things.just to save time.So it's a big improvement and that is helpful for when i run programs on the PC that are CPU heavy.

Was about to do a processor swap before I realized my 3.5g of Arctic Silver was nearly depleted, so I ordered this. Currently running this paste in my current SFF pc and an office pc. Thermals are decent, you can do better by around 3-5 Celsius by going with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, but that stuff is pretty expensive. The syringe itself is alright, the seal/tip is a tad fiddly to get on first try, but otherwise it's good ol' Arctic Silver thermal paste and it gets the job done well.

about noise level on a tube of thermal gunk and then to ask to mark it 'for gaming'.This is one of the better and well reviewed products available. It's why I got it.One big tube to apply to many computers that come my way for treatment.I Have used cheaper stuff in the past and it dries out too quickly.I have used this several time before and it lasts much longer. As for the service, you order and you get quite quickly and I'm happy with that.
