So far so good. It is working and yes it is a little fiddly and tight. I have only just this minute fitted it to my processor so have not really tested it properly. It took me a minute to install, I cannot go into too much detail, about how I installed it, as it just clipped in.Lots of people were saying how tight, it is to fit and how easy it is to break, blooming heck, they must have been treading on it for this to break. It is solid and so far is doing what I want it to do, keep my processor cool. I only bought this to see what everyone was piping on about and I'm pleased with it.The postman could not fit it in my letter box, so have just gone up to collect it, about half hour ago, from post office depot.(Continued review below)Have tested this cooler out, after cleaning my computer out before putting this fan in, all my on board fans had dust bunnies on them, so took them out and gave them a thorough cleaning and dumped a filter which was absolutely useless in preventing my computer from warming up, whilst playing GTA 5. Now that this cooler is in, it does not warm up at all, usually, when you run your hand over the top of your computer, you feel heat coming out, but with this cooler, it seems to be keeping it cooler.I found out that actually, the heat was not my processor at all, it was my graphic card warming up, so am using the graphic card fan whilst playing GTA 5. I took off the two side case fans, which were in my opinion a waste of time, as all they were doing was blowing hot air around. I have turned my back case fan around so it is acting as a reverse vacuum, blowing all the air out of the back and the one on the top of my case, blowing it out of the top. I highly recommend that everyone who gets this cooler or any other cooler, clean their computer out of the dreaded dust Bunnies, that linger and can cause over heating, by acting as an insulation and then and only then, will you notice any difference. Plus the electric bill will go down.A lot of the reviews on this cooler, have been very negative, but for me it is working brilliantly. So I highly recommend this cooler.

After installing, it's not *completely* silent, but it's at least a half if not a third as loud as my stock CPU fan. For the price, I'm not sure why I waited so long to get one of these for my computer. It's a no-brainer.What I liked most about this fan compared to alternatives:-Small size that fit in my smaller cases (many fans were too tall to fit in my case).-Installation did not require removal of the motherboard to install mounting brackets. I was swapping out fans and didn't want to have to disassemble everything, and installation was quick and easy.-Price is hard to beat. Many commented on feeling like they had to apply too much pressure to get it secured. My first attempt,I hooked one of the sides in the clamp and then tried to press down the other side. I was applying a lot of pressure and it wasn't seating. The reason was that the bottom of the heat sink was catching on the mounting bracket because it was coming down on an angle. What I found you have to do is line up the fan to the brackets and then press down EVENLY on both sides, and it easily snaps into place.

This thing is very quite, compare with the stock FX6300 cooler.Installation was very easy, I first connected the right clip (closer to PS where space was tight). I then used my finger to clip in the left plastic clip, no screwdriver required.Running this one a:http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-DDR3-Micro-Motherboard-GA-78LMT-USB3/dp/B009FC3YJ8/ref=pd_sim_147_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=03QSJRGC2F85J9Z6SC0N&dpID=51WPgjfTaOL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_Recommend connecting the power header pin before installing it. It helped in my case because the power connector on the mobo. was in a tight spot.Spins a t 1800-2000 rpm, compared to 3400-3600 for the stock FX6300 cooler.CPU temp was at 56C with the stock cooler. The ARCTIC Alpine 64 dropped it to 42-44C. Both temps measured via BIOS at idle.Contact patch has good coverage for the CPU. Came with thermal past applied to it.

This cooler is fantastic for the price. Keeping a Phenom II X4 925 (2.8ghz) perfectly cool with the included thermal pad, which is made of MX2 according to the documentation, which is super impressive at this price point. This machine runs 24*7 and has been for over a month now. The cooler is quiet, to the point that any mechanical hard drives you have will be significantly louder. Installation was easy, assuming you know what you are doing. It is somewhat difficult to remove however, due to no recess for a tool to slide into above the hooks like on most other coolers, but I consider that almost a non-issue given that removing your cooler is something most people will never want or need to do.Extremely pleased with this purchase. For less than 10 dollars I could not have asked for a better value, not even close.

I have an ASUS M32 series CPU with AMD A10 and I had to change the fan fast cause I work at home (pandemic).PROS:Inexpensive, everywhere I looked, it was much more expensive. Very fast delivery (ordered on Thursday night, received it on Sunday). Fits in place very well and very quiet, more than the OEM fan. Comes with thermal paste so you don't have to spread some.CONS:There are some informations missing on the site, like the four pin connector that we don't see in the picture, nor in the description. There are no installation procedure in the box, but it's quite simple to do. Very tight fit, you got to push hard with two thumbs to put it into place, and be careful not to break the snaps on each side, they are in plastic. Once into place, don't ever touch it again.

On my FX 6300 I get temperatures of 29°C at idle and 52°C at around 50-65% CPU usage which is totally fine for me. I've not done any stress testing but I'm sure it won't exceed a temperature which would cause an auto shutdown. Installation was fairly easy and doesn't block any ram slots unlike the ARTIC Cooling Alpine 64 Pro I have. But the main reason I bought this cooler because of the noise. It's far from silent but it is much quieter than the stock cooler and also a bit quieter than the ARTIC Cooling Alpine 64 Pro I have on another CPU. I only recommed this cooler if you're looking for a cheap solution the stock cooler's noise,I wouldn't feel safe overclocking with this cooler especially if you're going to need to change the voltages.

I used this as part of a socket am4 home nas build that replaced an aging socket am1 system. This is definitely geared for low power builds, and someone with a higher-wattage CPU should look at a higher-capacity cooler. Even though the rated tpd of the athlon 200ge is 35w, it actually seems to be around 20w. This heatsink definitely exceeds the cooling requirements of my CPU. I was initially concerned that this cooler wouldn't clear the VRMs on my motherboard, but the bottom face of the cooler angles away from the surface of the motherboard, and it fit just fine. That might not be the case for motherboards with tall heatsinks on the VRMs. It is a simple lump of machined aluminum,so there isn't really much that can go wrong once installed.

All I can say is this thing is quiet... fan runs usually between 1100 & 1950rpms (under full load) so it is almost inaudible most of the time. I'm using it on a dual core Athlon II with a small overclock of 3.45Ghz and it keeps it plenty nice and cool. Would probably work pretty well on a quad core if you weren't pushing it too hard but definitely not enough for a 4Ghz+ 6-8 core FX chip obviously.Only issue I had was a bios "CPU fan error", so I had to set my mobo to ignore minimum CPU rpm but this could have also been an issue with the mobo. Fan was always working so I don't know why I was getting the error.

Fabulous price for a nice heatsink. Appears to be well made, and the fan is powerful enough and very quiet. Probably at least as efficient as a stock AMD heatsink but quieter. I don't think I would upgrade to this, but if you have a CPU that didn't come with a heatsink, this is the brand to go with unless you do some crazy overclocking or live in Death Vally. This HSF and others from Arctic also enjoy some popularity in custom lighting applications, as they are cheap, compact, nearly silent, and perfectly adequate for cooling most LED COBs.

My OEM fan gave out and I went to the local computer shop to buy a replacement.... big mistake. The thing they sold me ("Top Motor" by Dynaeon) sounded like a DC-3 at take-off. The Arctic fan was an easy installation with pre-applied paste and clips that fit right onto the AMD CPU. I'm glad I tested it with the cover off. It's so quiet, I would have thought it wasn't working if I didn't see it spinning! Don't let the low price fool you ... this is a great fan at a great price.

I put this cooler on an AMD A10-7850K in my HTPC and it dropped the temp about 10 degrees C over stock. Nothing too amazing, but great for the cost. For those of you gaming and looking for a cooler to do some real work, this isn't what you're looking for. If you're looking for something better than stock, this does the job well and dirt cheap. Sort of frustrating the stock AMD cooler doesn't even do the job properly though. Going Intel next time; it's worth the extra cost.

I used this with a "energy efficient" Athlon processor because the PC case didn't have enough clearance for my first CPU cooler.Although the first one arrived broken, Amazon quickly replaced it. The second one works well, keeping my CPU cool while making very little noise. It is always good to have a PWM fan so that it runs at high speed only when needed. The angle on the fan blades seems unusually steep, this may contribute to moving more air at lower RPMs.

I used this to replace the stock fan on a AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 6-Core Processor Black Edition and could not be happier. My stock fan would wail like a banshee under any sort of load, but this fan is quiet. It's about the same size as the stock fan but is clearly 1000% better. East to install, and it's size allowed me to keep my low-profile HTPC case.I recommend the ARTIC Alpine 64 cooler as a replacement for a stock AMD AM3+ CPU.

8.1.2014

Replaced the loud stock fan on an older x2 250 processor with this cheap affordable fan, the only regret I have is not changing it out sooner. It is very quiet as other reviewers have mentioned, the plastic clip on's, though cheap looking, work just as good as the normal metal clips found on the stock cooler and more expensive coolers. I plan on buying another one for another AMD HTPC I have thats running the loud factory cooler.

24.7.2015

Installed this on a AMD A4 and worked just fine. The plastic frame feels fragile, but it holds up very well. The Fan is quiet, the noise level was reduced a little when compared with the stock CPU cooler that came with the microprocessor. My AMD A4 is a low power micro and it runs quite cool most of the time, so I can't really assess if this CPU cooler is anymore effective than the stock cooler that came with the CPU
