The Zoom R16 is a delight to use with many features eg digital effects, capability of recording from 8 sources, lightweight, small size, battery power capability. It is great as a means of intermediating between a live session and a computer DAW. Up to 16 tracks are recorded onto a large capacity SD card (32G), which can then be easily read into DAW software such as Cakewalk Sonar or Ableton Live (on a PC) or Logic Pro (Mac) for further enhancement. Although the R16 lacks the drum machine capabilty of the R8 or R24, it has an inbuilt metronome for timing. Overall very good value.
