Excellent mat. I have seen some reviews of this mat that state it is slippy. When brand new, the mat is slippy when you sweat but this is completely normal for most new mats. You need to give it some time and break it in. I practice daily and, after a couple of weeks, it is perfect. Not slippy at all and a nice amount of stickiness. This is a good quality mat and I would think twice about buying some of the more expensive brands unless you have money to burn. It is not double sided which doesn't matter to me but others might see that as a negative point.

I've had this mat for 2 months now and think its great. I am a man with normal width shoulders, on a normal mat my hands are off the edges, not with this one.Its true it does need a wash to improve the grip, but once washed it grips fine. Even with the strange "down dog" (yoga speak)I do.Its also heavier then a normal mat (its a large mat!)Its think enough so that I don't need an extra mat for my knees, (the cheap ones you do) its also tall enough for me being 6'.Enough said.

This mat is really sticky which is good, but it still smells of glue when you have to go into child pose or place you have to place your face on the mat and breathe in the fume. I opted for buying an all-rubber mat in the end so I wouldn't be breathing in any more off-gassing, as I'm quite health-conscious and many of these glues are carcinogens.

Great Mat.I would have given this 5 stars if the grip had been a bit better. I find that when my feet and hands get sweaty I start slipping, especially poses like Downward Dog. The width is perfect as my original mat was quite slim. This mat seems very strong too, I think it's going to last a lot longer than previous mats.

sticky on the floor and quite sticky while practicingconvenient size that allows many moves (but might distress other practicing near you)not very easy to carry (a bit heavy)and a bit smellyoverall, very pleased from the material and its performance (not suitable for bikram I suppose though)

The mat is of good thickness and size, but, surprisingly, a little sloppy compared to my cheapo exercise mat bought from a supermarket .. It means things like the hanging dog are a bit of a challenge as your feet tend to slide away from you.

I have been teaching yoga for almost 35 years and this is the ONLY mat, in my opinion, that gives the security for the standing asanas, and the width and comfort for floor postures and relaxation. I ALWAYS recommend his mat to my students.

The mat is nice and "sticky" which will help with your practice and feel more comfortable. Unlike some slippery gym mats. A good quality and thickness and the wide nature of the mat is great for the taller among us to spread out.

Enjoying this mat. Shame it is one- sided as that may mean only ten years use instead of the 20 I got from my last one but it is also a little stiffer so only time will tell on that..

I am very pleased with this purchase, it's quite heavy to carry but very comfortable & ideal if you're looking for a wider, thicker mat (kinder to knees!) & grip is good.

This mat is a brilliant size, much wider than ordinary mats. The only downside is that it needs to be a bit thicker - very cold floor but otherwise its great.

really happy with this this yoga mat as it wider than your average mat and fits my requirements perfectly.

I am really happy with this Yoga-Mad wide yoga mat. It is so much better than the standard size ones.

Seems OK The wide size is a bonus. A bit slippy on first use but seems to be getting better :)
