I don't think I've seen my little girl excited about a toy for a long time. Squealing with delight when it was delivered. She'd seen the adverts on tv so knew more than me on what to do with the scruff a luvs pet.We read the instructions on the back of the box before we opened it. Its a bit like surprise bags on a grander scale, she had no idea what type of animal she was going to get and still wouldn't know until we washed and shampooed it.She kept repeating I wonder if it will be a dog, a cat or a rabbit over and over. When we opened the box we were greeted with a round blue ball compacted down, in the box was a purple brush, pink bow and a collar with a blank name tag.As well as an adoption certificate where you can add the name of the animal.Next step is the unveiling, we placed the toy in the bath and showered it water slowly it unravelled then we washed it in shampoo. Next step was brushing and drying. By now we realised it was a cat whom my little girl named Molly. My little girl had great fun with this toy and after grooming her cat Molly has played with it lots since. One thing I liked about the product was how its linked to the RSPCA and money from the sales of the product will be donated to the charity.

I was a bit dubious about this at first but my daughter loves it. We did it at Grandma's house and used warm water and a little shampoo to wash. The new pet arrives in the box as a ball with eyes. You get no clues as to what the final creature is going to be until you get it wet. Then it unfolds and reveals ears, paws and tail. We have a kitty. Daughter loved the whole idea and experience (age 6). Would say you could definitely do it in the bathtub too! Downside: grandma doesn't have a hairdryer and child wobbled her lip when we suggested the dryer.Upside: kept child entertained for a good half hour. If it gets dirty it can definately go in the washer.

Omg.. bloody fluff a luv. Brought for 4 year old.Son had great fun bathing it and watching the ball turn into a dog and seeing what animal he got. But.. when it come to drying the toy.. that was left to me and it took me agessss blow drying it. While having a 4 year long of asking every 5 seconds of its dry yet! I ended up putting it on radiator because was taking to long to dry.Brushed it out with comb/brush supplied. But I found that normal brush did a better job to fluff it out.He loves the toy/teddy what’s the main thing but me on other hand never again.

Bought 4 yr twins one each. Both loved doing it. Def put it in the washing machine on a spin or it’ll never dry. Kids had fun watching the scruff a luv ‘running’ around the drum. Ears took a while to blow dry. Fun naming them. Twin 1 takes theirs everywhere. Twin 2 not so impressed. As always it depends on the kid.. Some people have complained it looks like a tatty poorly made teddy. I wouldn’t say it is poorly made-they have held together well. And it’s supposed to scruffy. It’s in their name!

These have had lots of bad press about them recently but to be honest my daughter loves them & this was the second one she bought after Christmas as she thinks their lovely!Just make sure you wash them in the sink, use loads of shampoo (we used johnsons baby shampoo!) & rinse them under running water. Dry them with the hairdryer whilst brushing & then put them in the dryer to fully dry them! They'll be lovely after a good brush... Remember their called scruffy for a reason though!

DD thought the matted ball of pink fur with huge eyes was the cutest thing ever. When I explained that it turned into something else she was beside herself! After a bath, a blast with the hair dryer and a brush, we now have a pink bunny. I would recommend giving your scruff a luv a bubble bath, we used plain warm water and bunny isn't very soft (shh, I'll be popping him in the washing machine tonight). Also, little ones may get bored as drying with a hair dryer took ages.

I bought two of these in different colours for my daughters. The washing and revealing part was fun and the children enjoyed finding out what pet they had got. After we had gently dried them with a hairdryer they became ‘fluffy’ and the kids named and played with them. Only down side I would identify is that the ‘fur’ didn’t stay fluffy for very long - not sure if we should wash and dry them again. The children seem happy enough with them - so that’s the main thing!

This is brilliant - got the pink one for my daughter (who loves her Scruff A Luv!) and this Aqua version for my niece. You get a scruffy ball of matted fluff, collar, brush, bow, and adoption certificate. Gave it a long bath with soap and then used the hair dryer and hair brush to give it a good dry and turn it 'fluffy'. The animal you get is a mystery - cat, rabbit or dog - my niece got a dog and she loves it. Highly recommended and great for £19.99.

I bought this for my daughters 6th birthday, we absolutely love it. So glad I didn't listen to the poor reviews. We washed it with a tiny bit of washing powder in the bath and rinsed off with the hose. She brushed the fur backwards with the brush provided while I dryed it with the hair dryer. It took 15 mins to dry. We also like the adoption certificate and it allowed us to discuss rescuing and re homing. We love this toy. This is first ever review.

my 5y old daughter saw this on TV and wish that for Xmas, i was not convinced about the toy much but give it a chance and must say i do love it too...at first it was just a wee pink ball, but after good wash it revealed itself, she had tiny bunny, and named her Rosiewrapped it like a baby in towel and after drying and loving care she got her yellow bow and collarbunny looks so cute and fluffy,my daughter love it so much, best Xmas present

Great toy you pop it in the bath with the children. They wash it and it grows revelling which animal they have received: dog,cat or rabbit. Then you dry it well I tried to use a dry dryer but it was so wet it would of taken hours so one pillow case and a towel and in the tumble dryer it. Check it every 10 mins after 40 mins it was dry for the children to brush. Great presents for Christmas or birthday.

The present came quickly, best price for the article. The only thing bad is that you do not know what you get until you wash and dry it because it is a surprise which is hard for young children to understand.I was asked for the blue cat and it is very hard for my grandson to understand that it might be bunny or a dog and not a cat. I just hope he is happy. Just need to see what else he wants.

Bought as a Christmas gift so not yet open but my daughter has asked for one since we first saw these. She loves blind bags so not knowing what's inside is a bonus but loved that we could select the colour she wanted. Think this is a fresh idea for role play, caring for your adopted pet & like that it requires adult and child participation to clean and uncover your new pet together.

The first order I placed was cancelled by Amazon, they thought my account was compromised because I used a new computer, a very good safety measure. I re-ordered and after xmas checked my bank account and found both amounts were taken, after telephoning twice and being told both times it will be sorted I've had no luck.I suppose I'll have to phone again.

Bought this for my daughter’s upcoming 7th birthday. Had a sneaky look in the box before wrapping. It’s pink and fluffy but you cannot tell which animal it is until you open it up properly as it comes scrunched up in a ball. You have to wash and groom (brush) it to reveal which animal it is, rabbit, cat or dog. Pretty sure my daughter will love it.
