I also have the Wilton Christmas cookie shapes pan but like the designs of this pan better. The cookies are easy to get out of the pan (I spray with Pam then use a brush to get in all the corners). I thought these would be time-savers, but if you take the time to press the dough carefully you might as well use cookie cutters. After using these pans for two holidays, I've yet to master getting the cookie thin enough. The gingerbread ones (recipe from Wilton on the Christmas cookie shapes pan) come out better because I think you can get away with thicker gingerbread. As others have mentioned, even with careful pressing the designs are hard to see. The designs show better on these snowflake pans than on the Chirstmas cookie shapes pan.I also don't care for the appearance of the back side of the cookies (the top while you're baking them). You have a very "lumpy" looking surface from pressing the dough in with your fingers that never smoothed out during the baking. I would like to see pictures of the "back side" of the cookies that those giving 5 stars made! All in all, I'm glad I tried the pan but will be going back to cookie cutters next year. After using a Nordic Ware snowflake shortbread pan I decided to try making shortbread cookies in this pan. (This idea came from seeing comments from users of the newer, similar Wilton copper-colored snowflake pan.) I got my pan out and sprayed the cavities with PAM. I then wiped out any excess oil. I placed dabs (24 g) of shortbread "batter" into each cavity and carefully pressed the dough. I also "docked" each cookie with a plastic fork. I followed the baking instructions for the copper pan - 325 degrees for 10 minutes. I let the cookies cool for about 6 minutes then turned the pan over onto a cooling rack. With gentle tapping, half dropped right out. I used a VERY thin-blade knife to loosen the others a bit, being careful not to scratch the pan. After inverting again the rest of the cookies popped right out. I think these pans are better-suited to shortbread-type dough that doesn't raise much. I'm really happy with these pans now that I've found a perfect use for them.

I was a little unsure exactly how these would work. I did read alot of the reviews from several places before using them and the tips may have helped me alot once I made the cookies. Evidently, they do not work with all recipes that well. I used the recipe that comes with the pan and they came out of the pan perfect, had a nice design on them and tasted great! I followed the directions on the pan as to how much to fill them and I think less is more. I would assume that if filled too much, they wouldn't have a flat bottom as a cookie should. I had a cookie making party at my house and it was alot of fun decorating these with everyone! We used different colored icings to trace on the snowflake designs, but they are also very nice looking with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, colored sugar, or even plain! All 5 of us liked the recipe and the process of making them! Some of the cookies fell right out of the pan once flipped over and the rest of them fell right out with a good wack on the bottom of the pan. Bottom line is I am very glad I bought this pan (and the other designs) and look forward to making them again next year! (much better than rolling out and using cookie cutters in my opinion!) I hope this review has helped you! Happy baking!!

I think this pan works well, overall. I didn't see quite as much detail in the finished cookie as I would have thought. We did not use the sugar cookie recipe that comes with the pan, but I've seen other reviewers praise it. Our sugar cookie dough worked very well. Make sure to follow the instructions to only fill each cavity 1/2 full if you don't want your cookies to have rounded bottoms. I baked our cookies for 10 minutes. They are then supposed to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before being removed, but our cookies got left longer than that (my son woke up from his nap) with no ill effects. They still have a nice chewy texture. I did use baking spray that contains flour and had no problems with the cookies releasing from the pan.If you choose to ice the cookies and outline their details, their design lines will obviously be more prominent. If you don't want to take the time (or don't have time) to roll out cookie dough and use cutters, this pan will still give you nice cookies to decorate.

AMAZING!!! I LOVE IT! I have made a lot of large molded cookies through the years (Brown Bag Cookie Company) but wanted something smaller for an upcoming cookie exchange. You absolutely can not go wrong with the pan or the recipe supplied.(tastes great!) I saw a few comments regarding cookie detail... but if you the roll enough dough into a small ball for each cookie area and then just press in with your fingers you will get a detailed cookie every time... your really don't even have to press hard.... seriously doesn't get any easier! I bought this along with another pan and will buy more for other holidays. I did not deviate from the directions and it worked perfectly.

I read the other reviews and purchased this pan with trepidation. The first batch of cookies, following all of the directions on the pan to the letter, came out okay, but the designs were not very visible and came out quite brown. It was also a challenge to push all of the dough into the corners as it was quite sticky. The second batch I made some adjustments. I followed the recipe on the package again, but refrigerated the dough in a zip top bag. After the dough was thoroughly chilled, I used the bag as a piping bag to get the dough into the wells. Then I pushed the dough into the corners. I had great success this way.

Great cookie pan...Lots of fun...family loved it...Can't wait for my nieces to come visit this winter and bring their children to make snowflake cookies and decorate.. I've found out that if you cover your cookies in sugar they fall right out of the pain, if you cover them with something less "granuley" like powdered sugar then they stick. I really like this pan as it makes decorative cookies way faster, but even with spraying with Pam and following all the directions it seems things do stick unless you buffer them with something like granulated sugar.

I love my Wilton cookie mold pans. This one did not disappoint. The cookies are a nice size for decorating and eating. The little ones had fun helping me make them. So much easier than cutout cookies. Plus, there's something about the way the sugars and butter caramelize in the molds that makes sugar cookies taste even better. I'm getting a new one for Valentine's day!

This is an easy way to make fancy cookies without all the rolling and cutting. They were easy to decorate as well as just using them from the pan. The designs were very pretty. I used several different recipes of dough and they all came out nicely.

This arrived the net day which totally surprised me. I bought it to make christmas ornaments but they did not come out of the pan easily and some broke. It also took a long time to cook them. I need to practice more.

The pan is well made and the recipe that comes with it is very good.I would suggest buying 2 pans because of the 10 minute wait for the cookies to cool in the pan before your next batch. That may be for next year.

Sent this to a Redit Christmas secret Santa exchange. Thought it was super cute and she said she likes snowflakes. It arrived fast and very happy with it. Wilton always has awesome products.

Have not used the pan yet, but it is a very good quality, and not too heavy. I bought it on the recommendation of a friend who is a very good baker and she loves hers.
