This big tin takes what I would call 3 times an average Victoria Sponge sandwich mixture. It makes a large cake in the shape of an open book. I used a product that makes it easier to remove cakes from tins and the book-sponge turned out unscathed. It was evenly cooked, evenly risen and took about twice as long to bake as 8-inch diameter deep sponge would. The size makes it a little unwieldy so you need a steady hand an a secure base for your turntable when icing but it's a great size for a big celebration. I normally bake sponges, carve and build them into various shapes. This tin makes a lovely book.My only reason for 4 not 5 stars is that the tin is thin; there's already a small dent in the rim.

It arrived on good time and it's very sturdy and well made. It is a rather deep pan and I found which is what I wanted but I found it a struggle to make sure it was baked evenly and it did sink in the middle. However that might be a fault of my own and I'll try and correct it in the future. Please listen to the washing instructions because my mother managed to get to the tin before me and put it in our dishwasher which will have taken away some of the 'non-stick' coating. Really? I also used the butter and flour metho and it took some coaxing to get it out and then some patchwork to get the arch again as it wa still in the tin.

Open boo tin arrived in 10 day time scale offered and was what I was expecting.The tin was new but I think had been stored or handled poorly ( possibly in the post) as a lot of little dents plus one larger one. Most could be knocked out or covered with icing when cake made.Client was happy with overall effect with a printed icing picture on top of her favourite book,to celebrate with her colleagues.

This cake tin is large and perfect if you are baking for a crowd. I used if for making carrot cake and doubled my normal recipe (which if for a round cake tin with a diameter of 26 cm). I lined the cake tin with baking parchment and it was no problem getting the cake out of the mould. If you are after a book shaped cake tin, this is a good choice.

Absolutely perfect!Not wanting to take any chances, I sprayed the tin with one cal cooking spray and lined with baking parchment. - Cake came out in one perfect moulded shape no problem at all. Cake served approximately 30-35 people. Tin arrived extremely well packaged and without ant any damage/dents at all. Very impressed!

Good quality cake tin,just not suitable for dishwasher use as the top coat will became fainted and rough. Otherwise it is big so it will fit about 15-20 eggs,depend of the size of eggs or the mixture (sponge cake - about 20 eggs,madeira/victoria sponge 9 eggs). After baking it has shape of a open book so it is good

Brilliant for my first attempt at a proper cake, used for world book day. Arrived quickly but had a dent in the side. Didn’t make much difference to the cake, if I’d had more time I would have asked for a replacement.

A brilliant product! The pan was easy to use especially in conjunction with cake release spray, and the result brought gasps of astonishment from the person I made the cake for!

This is quite big, not what I expected but it was nice all the same. You might have to buy a smaller pan if that's what you are after

Bought this as the Birkmann pan was not deep enough, this is deeper but I still had to make another cake to get the depth I was after

A very well proportioned tin. Leaving a good amount of cake even at the shallowest points. Larger than other tins on offer on Amazon.

This book tin is big. I love it, you can use different cake mix one side chocolate and other vanilla. Love it

Great tin but a recipe guide would be helpful but with a little help from google that is easily solved

The cake base will be very thin, so you can't cut it properly for filling
