This drive was slightly more expensive than other drives, but it has been the most reliable external drive I've used so far (and i've owned quite a few). It's always worked on every computer I needed to work on (for University). The drive stored my large files quite easily and I have been able to copy large 3 gig files within a couple of minutes. Runs nice on Windows 8 and OSX Mountain Lion. Very good product from Verbatim.

Seems to be working fine. My only gripe is that I ordered it on 3rd June yet it was not dispatched until 25th June. Anyone thinking of ordering it (and it is one of the cheapest 500Gb HDs around by a reputable manufacturer) should check the delivery date. Excellent product otherwise!

Tends to show on my screen as too slow but apart from that it does all that I need it to do, the 1.5 TB version of the same does not share the problem re-speed so less on screen warnings about device speed.
