We've got the original "Genus" edition from way back, so it was nice to get a fresh set of questions. Unlike some other reviews, we don't agree that it's been dumbed down but has a good range of questions for all the family so that teenagers as well as adults can enjoy it equally. And that is the point - it's a family game, not one that's loaded in favour of more experienced adults who will always win.It could certainly do with more questions though - there are only 400 cards, so that's 2400 questions in total. We've played it quite a few times and the same questions are now starting to come up again, especially as you can easily get through around half of them in a game with 4 people playing.Another missed opportunity is the lack of card holders - there are 4 piles of questions which can't be held very securely in the box, so if you put it on its side when storing away, be prepared for a bit of a mess when you open it again! Elastic bands will solve the problem though. But it would have been nice to have something to put them in while playing, instead of passing piles of loose cards around. The board itself is very plain. The original had nice illustrations in each space covering all the categories but this new version just has plain, solid colours, which is pretty boring in comparison.Nevertheless, the game is still good fun and I think you'll enjoy it if you're a fan of the original.

Our family has had an ancient Trivial Pursuit set for several decades. The questions in the old one were now so obsolete and outdated we never played it, so I bought this for my dad for Christmas to replace it.My siblings and I are in our late twenties/thirties, and my parents are in their sixties. We all found questions that appealed to us and challenged us. Some very tricky, and enough that were easy and guessable to still make it enjoyable. My mum of course had a moan that there weren't enough classic general knowledge questions in there, and too many questions that "in 20 years time no one will ever know", but she's just grumpy that she lost ;)I disagree with her – there's plenty here for the whole family, especially if you have an even broader range than us. It's a lovely update, with the same classic styling. Will definitely be getting it back out next Christmas!

This is Trivial Pursuit as I remember it - with the roll-again squares between the wedges and 7 steps required between wedges so you can't just fly round the board like other editions I've seen recently. The questions are good - we played with our 8 and 10 year old (in teams) and they could answer some of them and the adults knew enough to enjoy it but not so many that there wasn't good competition. So why not 5 stars? I'll be honest, I like the pictures you got on the original Genus edition - this board feels a bit cheaper without them. And there are no card holders. I know, these are little things but having stacks of cards around the board is messy whereas the little holders made it much easier to keep hold of the deck especially if you want to rotate questioners. All said and done, I'm really pleased with it but there is room for improvement!

Arrived quickly, in good condition and at a reasonable price - though not as many question cards as in earlier editions. The questions seem a bit "dumbed down" compared to the original edition and there are a lot on contemporary pop culture - not so good if you are more into "Clarks" than "Converse" or "Mozart" than "Little Mix" but that means there is something for all ages.Disappointed in the absence of card holders - which was inconvenient and messy for passing round questions and resulted in the cards showing noticeable wear after the first use. However, had good fun over Christmas and New Year - once with "aged parents" and once with trendy "D.i.n.k.y's".An entertaining family activity, which I'm glad I bought..Loss of one star because of fewer cards and no card holders.

It's a great game but it's expensive and the questions/answers are WAY TOO SMALL. So small that it detracts from the game. At work, 11 or 12 point text is standard in letters, emails, web pages, documents, etc. This text is probably 5-6 point, half the size of text in your average letter or paperback. Also, too many questions are current affairs which means after a year or two, they are out of vogue and everyone's forgotten them. Overall recommended (but should come with a big magnifying glass). The obvious solution is to double the size of the question cards, double the size of the text and provide new plastic card containers double the size.

Had ALOT of fun playing this. The questions have been updated so they're more relevant, this is particularly helpful for the entertainment sections, instead of questions about some now obscure 60s television show it's now all a bit more modern. The brown is now purple though which threw me more times that I care to tell "is that purple? Purple is brown right, brown used to be in this game? Am I making this up?" Perhaps it was just me that was confused, there really was no reason to be...but there did used to be brown right? Right? It was a thing? Oh I don't remember. Anyways, yes, excellent game. Fully recommend.

I wanted to buy this after Christmas but it seemed to be sold out everywhere, so I was happy to be able to order it on Amazon. The game is great. Its the UK version with both modern and older questions. I noticed there was a few errors in some questions, such as what island is a famous jumper made, which is located off the west coast of Ireland. Well obviously I had no idea, didn't know there was any islands off the WEST coast of Ireland. The answer was Arran, which is off the west coast of SCOTLAND!

Always enjoyed Trivial Pursuit when it came out in the 1980s, so to get this new edition with up to date questions has been a great entertainment for us over the holiday period. Service from Argos was excellent - ordered one day, it was available to pick up at our local Sainsbury’s the next day. The product quality is not quite as good as the original, but it doesn’t detract from the game. Not really suitable for younger children as questions more suited to older teens and adults.

We bought this to replace the Grandparents first edition Trivial Pursuit- which is easily 30 years old. We refused to play with them any longer as Grandad knew all the answers off by heart. We got this one to play on Christmas day. The game itself is well presented, and we like the bright look and feel of the plastic counters. However, we all found the questions laughably difficult. Which I think says more about us than it does the game. Just be warned, it's a tough game

Classic trivial pursuit game. The questions have been slightly updated and they are still very hard, which is good and challenging! It took 6 and a half hours on Christmas Eve for all players to be on full cheese.. and we still didn't get to finish this game! It's a good board game for those who like challenging questions, but if you have children, I would say to buy a family edition or other easy option board game as it could take a very very long time to finish!

We have played trivia due years but this updated version has questions that appeal to all ages and finally the whole family can play. We found playing with mixed ages was the best fun and the younger members were included with pop music and trivia about children's books. The older generation were kept happy with a range of questions too.The writing on the cards is tiny and would be much better if this was larger font. But great family fun and we learnt loads

A good classic edition of Trivial Pursuits with the original favourite categoriesA big disappointment though was that before I bought it , I read the question answered by Argos staff about which year it was from and they said 2017 . Based on that , I bought it as a present for a big Trivial Pursuits fan friend who said that the latest edition they had was 2016 . When it came , it was in fact the same 2016 edition so I ended up keeping it for myself

The questions have been updated to 2016, and are quite challenging. The retro/classic board layout is ok, but maybe I was just more used to the Masters edition layout. One thing I didn't like is that the question cards don't come in boxes. We always use the boxes and lids to hold the cards in place..... but maybe that's just us. :)Overall this is very good and I would recommend if you are looking for a more up-to-date version of the Trivia classic!

Have always loved TP and it's even better now we have a new version. I think my last one was around 15 years old and no one under the age of 40 could play it as they'd never heard of anything the questions related to. The only disappointment is that the new one doesn't have the card holders and the packs of cards kept getting knocked over and the front/back of the pack getting muddled up. I suppose it was done to save costs, but it's a shame.

This is our second copy of this game. The fist one is now a number of years old and we thought that we would update to a more current version. Unfortunately I find that the new version appears cheaper and not as well made as our older model. My main complaint being that there is no card holders supplied with this new version. Therefore the cards can easily get scattered around if you are not careful (particularly after a few glasses of wine)
