One of the most popular games of all time has returned in its new regeneration as the 2000's. The traditional round board is a little different in style, with a real advantage in design, and there are now question cards for echo subject. They neatly fit into individual plastic storage cases that each have a protrusion that ensures they stay in place on the board. Movement around the board is still by throwing a die, but the question spaces are together in groups rather then being scattered on the board. Pieces of pie are as you have come to expect and the degree of trivia in the questions is as normal, but the era in which they are based is the modern yet.Differently to previous generations you can answer the question yourself or try to stump the others with it. This feels inherently a little easier than previous generations (of which we have all), but it is still a delight to play. Fundamentally, the changes in play are probably to engage younger generations and the difficulty level for the more mature is probably has probably risen because of the more recent nature of the questions and their link to media consumption. The idea that this is designed for younger people is supported by the tiny font that is used for the questions - seriously you will struggle to read them if you are over 40!Despite the fact I have had to reach for my reading glasses, this is a winner in our house. Buy and Enjoy!

Trivial pursuit was always a feature of family gatherings of my youth; so it's good to have this revamped version which is familiar but with faster and, some might say less frustrating game play. The board had been made more funky, with dispensers for the different category cards and though you still travel around collecting different coloured triangles there is less hanging around as every other player can be challenged to answer at each turn if you choose not to answer. The rules seem a bit unintuitive at first but once youve started playing they soon become the norm and play is much faster. There is some feeling the questions have been a bit dumbed down, sometimes you merely have to choose between a few answers but the categories are probably more engaging for teen players. The age guideline is 16 - i.e. The time span of the game. I've found you can play with slightly younger players quite successfully. Same but different familiar game with no spending hours trying to land on that elusive last "cheese". It's all nicely made and I think it's an excellent board game.

I do have an ever-expanding collection of Trivial Pursuit board games and am pleased to see that they have decreased in price over the years. This particular variety, based around a large selection of questions taken from the year 2000 is much quicker to play than its predecessors and we completed a game in half an hour or so. I liked the fact that the question categories were separated in their own plastic cases; however, the fact that there's no middle squares or the ability to move either clockwise or anticlockwise is a little disappointing. There are more tactical moves in this version and the questions are varied and fairly difficult.Recommended: we both enjoyed it immensely.

I purchased this after trying to play the older version with my partner and parents. The old one was just too obscure for my self and partener (a lot of the questions were way before our time) so we decided to try the modern one. It has a good balance of questions and seems very up to date. It makes the playing fields a bit more even between generation gaps however some older people who perhaps do not follow much modern culture may struggle with it. The gameplay is totally different and probably easier in this version. Good purchase and it has been put to use a fair few times!

Literally just finished this game with the family after two games in around 60 minutes, unlike the old Trivial Pursuit which could go on for ever this is new rules which basically means you finish quicker. The questions are all well researched and although predominantly around the 00's they are also general questions that most people will be able to answer. I would say this is around a 4/10 clever rating so a good family game for anyone over the age of 21. Loved it.

The advantage of this version are:-New questions, although I think they are easier to guess the answer.-Each player/team answers a question in turn (so no hogging the "Cheeses").-If its a category that's difficult for you, you can 'turn the tables' and ask the other players (and you get the point if they don't know).-The points above mean the games are quicker, so no-one gets bored and drifts away...We all enjoyed it (ages 21-91)

Every Christmas we used to pull out the same old trivial pursuit where anyone over 50 knew all the answers and anyone under has no idea! This resolves this for anyone over 25/30, because its more 'current affairs'. Now, beat your parents at their own game!I really hope this review has helped you, if it has please could you click the helpful button below :-)

WHAT A FAB VERSION OF THIS WELL KNOWN GAME. great version for kids born around the late 80s and 90s as gives everyone a chance to answer the questions. we had a ball xmas day and our ages were from 27 up to 70s and we all managed to answer the questions. we truly had a wonderful experience with lots of laughing and great fun.

Not as good as the original, but my daughters loved it as the questions were much more relevant to them so they were able to beat me for a change! I like that it doesn’t drag on for hours and that there’s an option of passing on the question forcing the other players to attempt to answer instead.

Used to play the old game with my parents as a child but always far too difficult. Got this to play with my teenagers and the questions are much better, some slightly too easy but it had them engaged! Rules are a bit complicated compared to old one but I'm sure we'll get used to it.

Fun update on a timeless game. We have had a great time playing it. At 30 somethings who like to think we are 20 somethings this is more fun than the TP of old. No longer questions about things that happened before we were born but not relevant enough to be in the history books.

Sooooo, my family don’t like the new rules of this game so we just used the questions for them and the old rules ?‍♀️ There’s no centre to go to at the end so when you chose a colour you had to finish on that colour and answer the final winning question for true glory!

We have really enjoyed playing this game over Christmas. My children are all adults now and we still love board games. Found the questions relevant to the age group but still challenging. Thoroughly enjoyable and a good upgrade to the original game.

The one thing I hated about the old trivial pursuit was how long it took for a game, trying to land on a widget question seemed to take ages. This has been completely rectified with this edition, all the fun in a lot less time. Brilliant

Great Triv set that sets up really nicely & looks expensive. Nicer than my original set. Questions only go up to 2015 so may go out of date quickly- but a great short term quiz gift for young adults
