Edit: I'm sorry to inform you all that none of my Traxdata discs read after about 1 year since I wrote them!!!I apologise for misleading rating, but I also learnt the hard way about these. They are not readable on PS3 fat or slim and not on my pc drive LG GGW-H20L. Recovery programs can hardly read any data from them. Spend more money on TDK or Verbatim if you care about your data.AVOID TRAXDATA BD-R!!!old review:------------------------------------------------------------------I just thought I'd provide some info for tech users.from atip: BD-R (Disc ID: RITEK-BR2-00) (Speeds: 2x; 4x)While verifying read speed was 3.0x avearge, 3.9 max. All went OK.If you have GGW-H20L, like myself,do not update the firmware to YL05! It will read and write with 1x (these blanks and generally poor performance even with bd-roms). Fortunately, I could downgrade to YL04 and everything is back to normal now. I'll contact LG, maybe they'll sort it out in the next firmware.

Latest update March 2010:6 Months on and I have now been through around 40-50 of these discs with absolutely none of the problems mentioned by other users, not one has become un-readable in 6 months and I still maintain these as a recommended buy, as long as you look after your discs properly and refrain from handling them like an ape, I see no reason why anyone else can't have the success I have enjoyed.Original review September 2009:I recently rated this product as 2 stars based on what I believed to be disc error, fortunately I have discovered the problem was actually with my burning program, all 10 discs worked perfectly with no complications, a great buy and very good value, recommended to anyone just starting out with BD and looking for high quality discs at a fair price

I was initially disappointed with these blank blu ray disks from Traxdata as after several burning attempts I thought the break up of the video footage was attributed to the quality of the Traxdata blu-ray discs. However I was wrong as after several attempts I realised I was using the wrong HDV format in the editing stage. After selecting the correct HDV format and burning the resulting files onto the Traxdata disc a perfect Blu-Ray disc resulted. These Traxdata disks have proved to be perfectly OK and playable in a Panasonic BR player/recorder. As to whether the quality deteriates over time remains to be seen.

So far I've burnt two discs, both with no problems. The first was from my PC using the LG BE06LU10 External Blu-Ray BD-RW / HD DVD-ROM retail kit; the second was with the Panasonic DMR-BS750EB. Both seem to work just fine. I have also printed on one of them using an Epson R2880 - again this worked fine. I have no idea how long they will last, but at the moment everything is fine.*Update January 2012* - I have now burnt over 30 of these discs and have encountered no problems at all. The oldest disc is now just over 1 year old, and can be read without any issues.

Ones I burnt a year ago on my Pioneer burner still read fine so far. Not a single burn failure on any either.Update: Getting on for nearly two years and the disks still read perfectly! Reading the reviews with issues with these disks all point to one thing, LG burners! Get a decent burner, like a Pioneer, and burn at half speed. It's unfair to blame these disks for the reading problems.

This was my first time of recording to a blue-ray disc and having viewed some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive.I lined up about 14 hours of films and set to Record. Just over an hour later all had been been written on one disc and when finalised the playback was 1st class. Will certainly have no qualms about buying this make again.

It's always difficult to know whether it's your hardware thats the problem or the disk, but I did have a couple of coasters out of my pack of 10, hence the four stars. On the whole I would recommend these disks as they are well produced and unlike all other BD brands are affordably priced.

5.11.2011

Bluray discs were written successfully from my Mac Pro on a LG external writer BE12LU30 writing 1080p HD content with no coasters. Only a slight down side the printed artwork on the Bluray disc surface is not as sharp as many DVD discs, a good disc for the money.

I bought these for the main reason that they were cheap, and not only that they worked great, easy to write on, didn't have a single problem.Recomended, and purchasing another 10 pack right now!

I have used these Traxdata blu-ray disks for some time now and cannot remember having any problems or failures during reocrding, finalising or playback. Good quality product.

I didn't have much luck with my first batch... but then updated the firmware on my LG drive. Since then, everything's worked fine. These are really good value blu-rays.

Good value for money. I use these on a Panasonic Bluray recorder to record HD films & TV series. No problems over 6 months.

12.12.2013

I wasn't sure when I ordered them that cheaper discs would be ok but they work fine and not a single copy failure.
