So here's 'The Sims: Deluxe Edition'. Most gamers seem to fall into one of two camps, people who like The Sims and those that hate it with a passion. There's a lot to like about The Sims and it's various add-ons though, and even though it does have it's faults the game is fundamentally a good one. This Deluxe Edition is very simple to install and doesn't take up vast swathes of your hard disc. As games go the installation is really quite small. Not only that, but you can run the game adequately on low specification PCs easily, but of course if you have a faster processor, more RAM, and a decent graphics card then the game will run very smoothly indeed.Once installed the game is very easy topick up and learn and you can get to grips with the basics of running the lives of your simulated people in a few minutes. The pace of things when you start is unhurried so you never get overwhelmed. In fact, seeing as the game is so easy to get into and play, it is ideal for people who are just making their first steps into PC gaming. There is a fair amount of longevity to the game too, you can continue to play for a very long time without exhausting the possibilities that the Sims has to offer. However, the Sims has its faults. If anything the game can be far too addictive. If you ever had trouble giving up a Tamagotchi 'pet' then you will find it extremely hard to separate yourself from your Sims and the lives you create for them.As for the reasons why there is a camp of people who hate the various 'Sims' incarnations. Some people find the game too mawkish and the character interactions and sound effects twee. Others simply hate any game that doesn't insist that you shoot anything and everything in your path. Finally there are some who hate it because they got hooked on it and had such a hard time getting away.Overall though, 'The Sims: Deluxe Edition' is well worth taking a look at, and it is a playable and enjoyable game for most people. Avoid it if you get too easily addicted to things, and avoid it if you like to shoot and destroy things, otherwise get stuck in!

...You won't have time for one, if you have this game! This includes the classic Sims game and original expansion pack, Livin' It Up, plus new objects and outfits and The Sims Creator, which allows you to modify your Sims looks/clothes.Having only played the original Sims game, before I got this, I was impressed by all the extra's that are available in this version, from the opportunity to 'play' in the vibrating bed, to solving the mystery of the crystal ball. For me, the best thing about the game is that you are constantly aiming for something, once you have got your Sim a job, you think, 'I'll just hang on in here until he is promoted' so you stay and hone up his skills or work on his social life, but get sucked in and several hours later he has been promoted loads of times and is getting quite wealthy, whilst you are now busy trying to get him a girlfriend or experimenting with the chemistry set.I also like the way each household is a game within itself, but allow the relationships to deteriorate and this can impact on the other families. One let down is the Sims Creator, which does not give me the scope I would like is designing my own Sims. There are limited new clothing styles, though there are plenty of fabrics. As a complete addict, I cannot recommend this game high enough if you like sim/god games. If you are more into action games, this probably is not for you (but you can do some nasty things with that chemistry set).

The Sims is one of the best games ever made and it's no wonder when youactually play the game. You can create your own person or family, thatincludes kids, adults, what ever. Then, after creating a biography, adjusting there looks and there points ie: Outgoing etc then your ready togo. You buy a property, then start building your house. Theres so manyobjects, and i mean hundreds as well as lots and lots of wallpapers, carpets and other important details like that to choose from and insert. Then, you can finnaly start playing. You get to control everything, and imean everything that your Sim does. When your in the game, your sim hasbars like Social and hunger etc. Everytime it's starts to go low,you haveto ring up a friend and talk to them, or dance, or what ever! You canlearn to play pianos and guitars, paint pictures, get jobs, marry Sims, well, theres just absouloutly LOTS of options. You can make your sim sounique and special it's unreal. They'll cry, they'll laugh, they needsleep, they need to go to the toilet, everything. They can even die if youdon't look after them properly. On the job ladder, you can advance or bepromoted in all kinds of fields from Military to Waitering...Oneof my all time favourite games and i'm sure it'll be one of yours too.Hope this review helps. THANKS

I once think The Sims is a very crap game but when im 12 I met my best mate in school and one day I stayed over his house and he has The Sims and Living It Up, seperate, and i found it enjoyement so I was planning to get this. One day, I have bet on haircut with my best mate, either of us who gets its hair cuts first will lose. I said, Ok! but my mum fed of my teachers complations so she offered me a one free game. I choose the sims! the sims! because i want new PC game. I got my hair cut, and go to GAME shop and sadly, The sims isnt there. But i saw Delexue Edition and it INCLUDES normal The Sims AND add-on Livin' It Up. I buy it and I played it for days and days till i got bored of it,but its such GOOOOD game I would rate it 5/5 but... 1 point is reduced because its not good enough without newer exp packs such as Hot Date. Still its good game to your new or exisiting THE SIMS collection. BUY IT IF YOU DONT HAVE THE SIMS OR LIVING IT UP. DONT WORRY IF U HAVE BOTH ALREADY U WILL HAVE new program that cant be access from downloads , The Sims Creator that allows you create faces AND mesh skins. Also has new features and 25+ new objects and new skins, as well :) buy it!!

As far as games go, this is excellent! I've spent hours controlling coloured pixels on my PC monitor, I'm addicted to it. I'd say this is definately the best computer game I have ever played, and is perfect to buy first, then add on the expansion packs (once you've saved up a bit). I'd only had the game a month when friends were coming round just to play, making their own sims to look and act like them. The only problem; when you make sims like you, it's worse when they get mad and move out, or burn in a fire. Just make sure to put ladders in your swimming pool! What I like, is the freedom you have in building individual houses, with different layouts and styles, then finding out that your sims don't like that particular peice of art, after you've spent a month's earnings on it. Once you've got this game, the doors are wide open to the oppertunities the add-on packs hold. Looking at this game, I'd say it's the best £20 I've ever spent.

Who would have thought that a game about designing a family, then building them a home then living them a live of happiness or misery would be so addictive and stand as the best game on the PC of all time. The Sims is a amazing piece of software, taking the gamer into a world full of creative design and possibilities that really lets the gamer have full control of the game. What makes The Sims the best the best game on the PC is the fact of the massive level of creativity and freedom that the game gives. For example the many ways of building that perfect family and designing the outside and the inside of the house with all those amazing goodies. With Livin'it up the gamer has a bigger choice of building possibilites and freedom to design that perfect home and family. The Sims deluxe is just icing on the cake that shows how a game can be so successful and survive still as massive as when The Sims came out 3 years ago.

I bought this game thinking it would be like the average computer game but i was in for a shock. The Sims Deluxe Edition is possibly one of the best computer game ever to be created. What's more, not only do you get the original Sims and the Livin'it up expansion pack but also the Sims Creator Tool. I can gurantee that you will have fun sticking the heads of your families and friends onto your Sims! Yet the best bit about the Sims is that it NEVER gets boring. You can have luxurious lifestyle with a beautiful wife/husband in a glorius mansion and have a good job or live in a petite house with no friends and a really rubbish job like a 'pickpocket'.The best bit about it is that the Sims reacts to your choices and is always different everytime you start a new game! The only problems with it is that to get all the items is to buy several expansion packs which will cost alot of money!

OK I'm going to start with the good things first, well its got fantastic graphics and its really fun to play, you could play it for hours. Some of my friends have the Sims too. I think the Sims deluxe is really popular but, The Sims 2 will probably be a bigger hit.I suggest that if you don't think The Sims is that good then you should buy some expansion packs, I think that will make the sims more fun.I would say that if you are going to get an expansion pack I think you should get The Sims Hot Date first. Now I'm going to say the bad things about the Sims Deluxe Edition, I thought it would be more realistic because when you get mail you always get BILLS, BILLS,BILLS.And there is a REALLY ANNOYING thing when the clown comes to visit he does really rubbish jokes.Happy gaming (Hope you don't find the clown too annoying).

This is THE ultimate simulation game, nothing else beats it, for hours of fun you don't need to look any further. I played this for 5 minutes and became addicted instantly, it is packed with extra's ready to be used, there are loads of add-ons to make the ultimate family. I would recommend this to anybody who has got time to sit down and enjoy hours of fun.The Deluxe throws in everything, from a simple bath tile to a play area for the kids, with loads to do your sim family will never get bored, why not try concocting a potion or making a garden ornament, you teach them and they will do it.

I believe that this game is one of the best I have ever bought for my Daughter , at first I thought it would be rather babyish and I'd have to take it back but my Daughter absolutely loves it and so do I shockingly.I think this game is challenging but fun at the same time , we now have all of the expansion packs and cant wait until Sims 2 is out.I am 32 and my Daughter is 12 nearly 13 and I seem to enjoy it more then she does so I'd just like to say keep up the good work Maxis and also anybody who is thinking of buying this has made the right decision because we think this game is FAB'.

2.3.2004

This game is pure brilliance. The number of things to do is astronomical; it ranges from being poor with a tiny house and rubbish appliances and jobs etc, and then as you get further on you can get richer and upgrade the house and get more appliances and get your character better skills to get a better job and so on.This game can be played for as long as you want to play it because there never seems to be an end to what you can get. And if you ever do get everything, there is serveral add ons and things to download from the website...A BRILLIANT GAME! a must buy.

If you are a big sims fanatic, then this is the game for you. You don't need to purchase the original sims because when you buy this you get the original sims game plus a expantion pack and a special programme called the sims creator which lets you create and even paint your sims in 3d! This is also a good starter pack if you are a beginner as it commes with a bassic and simple structured guide and a small install guide to get you started. Overall a very good game for beginners or collectors. This game is hugely availble in the US.

This is a really good game and it's really fun. Here are a few warnings though:1. Me and my friend both have sims deluxe and we installed the same extention pack. But then she had to give it to her cousins and we had to uninstalled it. Now the game won't work.2. You have to intall the extention packs in a certain order! I don't know what order though, Sorry! My friend did it in the wrong order and it won't work.3. My friends started to work but crashes from time to time and now has 8 villages!!!

To say the Sims is disappointing is going to far, ok The Sims might not be everyone's cup of tea.Put for most it's an excellent game, that will keep you hooked for hours. The reason that The Sims is so addictive is cause of the sheer level of creativity that the gamer can have with the game. From building the perfect family, house, decorating it to your own style. You can't knock The Sims and I believe and so do others that The Sims will be enjoyed years to come.
