I've only had this stand since yesterday, but it's just superb! I prefer to read in bed whilst lying down, on my side, which isn't the easiest position to hold a book in place, and this little bag absolutely fits the bill. The elasticated perspex plate holds the book firmly in place, allowing me to read, hands-free, at a 25-30 degree angle. The plate simply tilts forwards to allow you to turn the pages, then snaps back into position. The elastic is long enough to accommodate thicker/larger books, and the tension can be adjusted to hold the side with less pages nice and tight. The only possible improvement that I can think of is if the little black plastic bead that regulates the elastic tension could be made smaller,

I use this everyday and it holds the books beautifully. Very easy to turn pages etc. But, for me, when I sit, it tends to lean backwards which I find very annoying. I have to put something under it to keep it from leaning backwards.. doesn't matter what size book because when you're sitting down, your knees automatically lean, don't they? I contacted the manufacturer and she said just to hang onto the book and the book holder together and shake it; well, that's true to a point, but it still tends to lean. Wish I had gotten the more pliable bean bag (I think). But the page holder on this is brilliant. I think what I'll do is glue a piece of foam under it or something like that.

I absolutely love this product. It’s exactly what I was looking for, I was starting to get curled book pages because I was constantly having to open the book to get the next row info when crocheting, this stops that, it holds the book open firmly without breaking the spine and is super easy to turn the page without catching on it. It is a little expensive but it’s well made and is the only one that has the easy page turn and hold feature with the toggle for book thickness so for that I think it’s worth it. I hope they develop some patterned washable covers or a new line of patterned ones as my kids are after their own!

I love the idea of the book seat and it works well with small books. I have had some problems with books that are more tightly bound such as those published by Routledge, which mean that I have to pull the cord very tight and have to loosen it every time I want to turn a page. Still better than getting aching hands from trying to hold these types of books open. I think the book seat works best on a dining table, it is more awkward on my lap. I would love to see a bigger one that would both give extra height for placing on my lap and also a bigger surface to hold much larger books.

I have arthritis, and am just recovering from hand surgery. This Book seat saves my hands being in a fixed position holding books or my iPad. It is deep enough for hardback books, and well designed to hold them in place, whilst reading. I wish I had bought one years ago. It has so many uses, holding a recipe book open, watching media on iPad, however for me it means I can read in bed for long periods of time, without discomfort in my hands and arms. Thank you to the creators of this item. I am going to recommend it to my physiotherapists as well.

The Book Seat has been designed to assist those people who, for what ever reason, have difficultly holding books open while reading. I have found it to be helpful and easy to use. The concept is clever and the device has been well designed. It holds both paperback and hardback books without requiring hands to hold the pages open while reading. (It is necessary to use hands to turn the pages of a book.)One possible improvement would be to include an option for a more rigid base to hold the book seat upright on a flat surface.

I bought my parents one each as a Christmas present as they both find it difficult to hold a book for long without it becoming to painful. Mum uses hers a lot although she forgets sometimes and only remembers it is their when she cannot hold they book up any more. Dad uses his to do his crosswords as well as reading ,and the only problem he has is he needs a switch or robot to turn the pages for him.The product seems so good that I am seriously considering ordering one for myself to hold my kindle friend.

Holds a book well and is superb for anyone who loves reading. This is my second purchase of a book seat, the first one has gone everywhere with me for the past four years and used it daily as I love reading but find it difficult to hold a book/ kindle for long periods due to arthritis. I am only buying a replacement because some of the polystyrene balls have now disintegrated over time. I wouldn’t be without my bookseat I love it. Great quality, fantastic and so useful, especially for an avid reader.

This is a surprisingly useful but of kit. I bought it to keep crochet pattern books open easily, which it does very well, but I've also found it useful for supporting my iPad and kindle. Although both have their own stand cases these don't work so well on uneven surfaces like in bed whereas this works really well. I think it's a touch overpriced for what it is but nevertheless I'm really pleased with it. I have the turquoise one and it's exactly the same colour as in the photo.

This is a really clever idea. I have broken my hand and was struggling to hold my Kindle - this is a great solution. I am not sure that it would work as well with a physical book because I think it would be annoying to have to keep flipping the plastic holder to turn pages but excellent for Kindle. Only wish I had known about it a few years ago when I had a frozen shoulder!

As I suffer from a lung disease, my lying position in bed is very restricted.As a result,my book reading has been suffering.I purchased this in a desperate attempt to solve the issue, and it did sobetter than I'd hoped!My wife, who is perfectly healthy tried it and said it's a massive improvement on holding the book while lying down.She wants one too!!

this works really well as it is comfortable to rest on one's lap as well as the armchair or table, The page holder works very well (once I realised it pulls forward and up in order to fit different sized books). The pouch at the back is a nice touch to hold specs etc. Cheaper models on the market but this is worth the extra for the well-thought out design.

Bought this for my 87 year old mother who loves reading in bed at night lying down but was finding that she would doze off and the book she was reading would fall on her face ? so I bought this for her and now if she dozes off she isn’t rudely awakened by a book falling on her face, it just sits on the book seat and allows her to doze in peace.

this bookseat is not only a lovely colour but sits well while reading in bed it moulds to your legs and with the added clear plastic adjustable strip that holds your book pages in place it certainly deserves 5 stars.I have also bought different colours for 5 other members of my family and they all think it is a great product.

Great product. I have shoulder and neck problems, which makes holding a book difficult. The book seat enable me to read hands free and prevents me from getting pain. I would not be without mine. Also nice in light which makes it easy to take with you wherever you go.
