For the price this is an absolute bargain, and it does what it says it does. Here is a quick summary of pros and cons then I'll dive into detail about some of the more 'unique features' at this price point.Pros:-has AP Mode-clean interface-settings are split up and not on one page (e.g Wifi > channels, Wifi > SSID, Wifi > beamforming etc)-router mode works well, allows for custom DNS (ideal for PiHole setups)-AP mode hides features you dont need.-tenda app for mobiles to help change settings easily-unique features such as (auto reboot schedule, auto lights off schedule, sleep mode)-easy to use logcons-strange behaviour when in AP mode with regards to obtaining IP (get ip, dont get ip,get ip keep it a bit, dont get ip, get ip, perhaps a reboot?, settle down).-manual doesn't state how AP mode gets its IP.-in AP mode its DHCP or nothing for the router to get i's IP you can't statically assign it. (use DHCP reservation to combat)-manual is a bit case study ish. (josh wants super wifi in his bedroom, solution, buys tenda AC wifi and puts it in his bedroom next to his laptop. Err Really? you'd use a cable then surely?)Full Review-------------Unit is very good. I wanted to add AC wifi to my existing home network. I run a smoothwall box with a superhub 3 alongside a pihole server to give me a clean network. All I needed was an AC wifi AP nothing fancy. I dont see many AP only devices and those that are seem to be rather expensive. I spotted this and read the manual and thought I'd give it a blast. £35 was too good to be true surely? no, it is doing as it is told.I had trouble with the AP mode at first because I had set the routers IP in the GUI then put AP mode on. after about 20 seconds or so I saw the unit not responding which baffled me so I rebooted it and it came back. then went offline again. I decided to go allow its ip out the firewall incase it was not seeing something then disabling itself but instead saw it had obtained a DHCP IP... I then put up two ping tests and yes about 20 seconds or so in after a reboot it does the funky dance whereby it drops the lan, re-establishes the lan and drops it again before doing a final one. if by chance its confused the DHCP server and failed to get an IP, it'll reboot. After learning this I set a DHCP reservation and now its fine, once settled it stays on. the ip settings of the router in ap mode then become inaccessible. Sadly nowhere in the manual does it state this.On the plus side, it has three unique schedules built in, one for maintenance, one for LED's and one for sleep.-maintenance simply does a reboot once a day - very good to clean out caches etc and ensure it gets updated DNS etc.-LED, turns LED's off at set times (useful at night)-sleep (turns LED's, USB and wifi off putting it into a deep sleep) saves energy and stops kids using wifi, not good though if you use wifi IP cameras...For those to work, time needs to be synchronised via the internet and the software does not understand daylight savings, if it bothers you that much, just switch timezone to +1 or live with it.Being in the room, it was in I got 320mbps download from my 380mbps on AC 5ghz. Elsewhere in the house it dropped to 240 and 150 respectively but! still very good. 2.4 as you'd expect is slow, max I got was around 60mbps (my area is crowded). Not tested USB yet but that just offers a mini nas like solution providing samba (windows/mac shares) and FTP.logfile is easy to read and helps you if something is failing.you can pair up with a tenda app to tweak settings easy, ideal if you got guests and need a guest wifi setup or something.if you can live with the silly bugs then its a great AP/Router for the price and I'd highly recommend it.

There is only one thing that I need to mention about, is this little router is powerful and easy to use for first-timers. I think the appearance is fine and the performance of network connection is quite stable and the signal is strong even I threw it in my closet. The average wireless speed is much faster than I used with the old ones, the average download speed is 6.78Mbps (wireless). Whatsmore, I can set it up in a few minutes, the whole process only requires some clicks on the website which is also the menu of this router. I am a writer and I am totally confused in setting electronic devices sometimes, like my mobile and laptop, but I am able to get through all of the settings of this AC5 router without googling anything and reading the introduction. I also have 3 kids, I am able to control the speed and the content what they were browsing via the “parental control” function of this AC5, and I think this function is necessary for the teenagers.I can even share you my setting steps: (this experience that I haven’t gone through before)Step 1, turn on your Wifi switch and connect to the default name of this AC5Step 2, Input the setting IP address in the address bar of any browser and log in with default passcode.Step 3, Keep clicking the next step until the setting Is finishedIt's done, quite simple isn’t it?

So I installed the Tenda ac10u in my mum and dads house to improve the wifi signal as they are a Virgin media customer and were using the Virgin Super Hub 2ac and an access point to cover the whole house.Wow what a difference they mainly have 5ghz wifi devices and now can get 5ghz wifi access anywhere in the house at reasonable speed. The issue with mum and dads house was that the fiber cabling connections in the house were not in a central location so was hard to get wifi signal all over the house with just the Virgin Super Hub.I have set the Virgin Super Hub to modem only mode and with the use of some power line adapters have placed the Tenda ac10u wifi router in a more central location inthe house. The ac10u was very easy to set up and can be done either through a mobile app which or web page on a computer. I would say it only took about 10 mins to set up and then about another 15 mins to connect all the wifi devices to the ac10u so all up and running in under half an hour.I highly recommend this router to anyone that is having trouble with wifi in there house. It might not be the best looking wifi router but what it lacks in the looks department in more than makes up for in the performance department. So impressed will be using more Tenda products from now on.

I bought this following reading a number of reviews. I have the original virgin super hub on fibre with 60mb download speeds. I also have 4 kids all on various devices, phones, laptops, Nintendo switch. At peak times the hub was trying to manage the traffic for 6 people, very unsuccessfully. It all became a bit of a joke, as it was likely giving lots of band width to someone browsing a web page and nothing to the poor kid playing fortnite. In steps the Tenda AC10U. It was a little fiddly at first getting it to port my old wifi IP and password over, this was definitely down to my techno incompetence rather than the router. From the moment this thing took control, the wifi experience for every user in our house changed. It's just an absolute marvel. I can't recommend this router highly enough. It comes with an app which is interesting because you can see what it's allocating to each device, but really it just gets on with it's job in the background. Virtually none of the broadband provider routers manage traffic, which seems barmy when I think about it.Anyway if your thinking should I spend the money to buy this router, just do it, you wont be disappointed.

I'm a bit of a techie and had an old router that was playing up. I didn't have a lot of funds at the time so I gambled on this. I thought at £15 then surely it wouldn't live up to it's price tag, but boy was I wrong!I had no idea about the brand or the router but what a find! Incredibly easy to setup, just turn it on and visit http://192.168.0.1 and inside you'll find a few options to configure. Comes with setup instructions which are super easy to follow.I didn't realise this had AP capabilities for functions, you can use it as a Wireless Repeater (it connects to another router and repeats the connection or use it as a standard router. The WiFi signal is amazing, the capabilities are strong, super easy to setup and only £15 (at the time of this review). Don't think about it, just get one! I promise you won't regret it :)

I bought this as a lot of the reviewers mentioned specifically that this was an improvement over the Virgin Media Super Hub 3, which I have suffered with for a couple of years now. This router was worth every penny. Although I don't think I am able to connect to it from further away that the super hub as such, the signal up until dropping point is rock solid. I am finally getting full download speeds upstairs and am not constantly disconnected from the internet. My download speeds through steam varied with the super hub from 5mb-20mb (top end if I was very lucky) but I'm now getting a fairly constant 26mb and best of all, no disconnections. No more stress!

I have this connected to a TP Link Powerline in the bedroom as the stock Plusnet router I have in the living room is useless and most devices disconnect outside of a 6-10 metre radius (yes that bad). Plugged it in, turned on and set itself up straight away. I get a better connection throughout the house with this than the Plusnet router and a more stable connection. Wish i'd have considered this earlier rather than eating through mobile data but for under £15 it's perfect. For an above average user of the internet i'm not sure what more you could get without paying considerably more.

bought this to replace my TP-LINK WiFi access point in my house as I was getting fed up with the marginal WiFi signal in certain rooms of my house. So I'm using this just as a WiFi access point and I must say it does a brilliant job. I get a super strong signal where before it was only marginal. Easy to set up and I've not needed to touch it once since installing it (which is a good few months now) wheras the previous AP I had to power cycle from time to time. Excellent performance, proven very reliable and all for a bargain price. I have no qualms about recommending.

I don't normally write reviews for products unless they surpass expectations and this one does. Pairing with my virgin router I am getting lossless output from this unassuming little router. The WiFi range is very good, I have all solid walls in my house and can pick it up at the furthest point away from the router, pulling over 30mbps from my 100mbps fibre and pulling the same as the virgin router when closer, which is usually around 115mbps. Over a cabled connection I am getting the same 115mbps. All this from a £40 router.Well done Tenda.

I was a little unsure of this when purchasing. Basing the purchase on the previous reviews about it improving virgin media internet instead of the Hub 3.0 (making the hub 3.0 work purely as a modem)Once set up (three days ago) the internet has been so much better, maybe even faultless. The router settings are better, the app for iPhone is great for checking devices and settings. The speeds are as expected and consistent.I’d recommend this for the money. A lot of the other competitors seemed a lot more money.

This router is crazy good for its price point.I currently have 20 items connected, I am downloading 15gb of torrents on a 12mb connection and I'm still able to stream Netflix/YouTube/Plex (both my own server and remote server)Took only maybe 10 minutes to set up, instructions say to connect LAN of the tenda to WAN of your current modem but this is incorret it is the other way around. If it's sitting in your cart and you're hesitant to purchase it just go ahead and do it. You won't have any regrets.

Good router, terrible delivery!! Had it delivered to work, but driver just handed the package to a visitor, very lucky they were honest and passed it on to our Reception.Using this as a wired access point. Connected it to laptop using network cable, set it to AP mode in the configuration page, rebooted and the plugged it into my main router. Connected to the new wireless network, setup WiFi security and password, all went really well.

Really simple to setup, has PPTP VPN options both client and server.. if you're looking to replace your existing router or need VPN functionality for work with Virgin media (they've blocked VPN from SuperHub 3) this is great value for money the WiFi reach is also really good, I believe there are also some Tenda wifi extenders if you really need to push it.Cant say much about the mobile app have not had the need to use that

3.11.2018

Virgin wifi on the superhub 3 getting weaker and weaker. Purchased this as getting failures to connect when main PC is 2m from the Virgin hub. Easy to set up and the interface is very fast. It is quick and easy to make changes. Excellent features where you can limit children's times on their devices, and more than anything, easy to do.Wifi is strong and speed is fast.

Cannot believe how easy this was to set up! I have been struggling trying to extend my WiFi to my shed with another router with no luck at all. Saw this and thought I would give it a go and was pleasantly surprised to see a Repeater setting on it, clicked on it and a couple of mouse swipes later it was done, so simple and I now have a great signal in my shed
